The funny thing about the Mass Effect one is the fans response. After she admitted in that same interview that she never played the game people flocked to a page on her book (I dont remember which site (I think Goodreads, or something similar that has bigger at the time) and review bombed her book saying some variation of "I did not read it but I'm pretty sure its terrible", and that is what prompted her to apologize
I remember when I was younger and wanted to buy Bully, my mother interrogated the poor GameStop employee about it like she had in the past regarding other games like GTA. Shoutout to that employee for explaining that the game was actually about taking down bullies and being able to successfully convince her to get it for me… you’re a real one ✊🏻
Be sure to remind your parent of moments like those where they did not have the best moments as a parent. That's what I always do. Wherever I was wronged during my childhood, I make sure people remember and pay for it. I even stopped playing and watching pokemon products because I was "strongly" informed of how satanic it is. I still occasionally remind them to show me all those kids who watched Pokemon that are now Satanists.
The one I had to fight hard to defend growing up was Skyrim. Grew up in a Christian household and when the game was coming out, my mother wouldn't let me buy it cause there was supposedly a sex dungeon in it. That new spread through my church and my mom eventually let me get it but if I did find a sex dungeon then I would have to tell her. Obviously there wasn't but later down the road, I had to help my friend convince his mom (who was married to the pastor) that Skyrim wasn't bad at all. I think we only got away with it cause we only had consoles and i negated to tell the parents about mods. The Skyrim Sex Dungeon was so annoying since people kept asking me for a whole 2 years about it.
We can agree that the dumbest one is “Video games rot your brain”. Which are said by pretty much every parent that sits 5+ hours in front of the tv just using no motor skills what so ever.
And moving your fingers a little to click buttons is motor skills 🤣 and half these weiredos sit for more than 5 hours a day yeah the brain rots bullshit but I mean growing up a complete weiredo with no social development is a real issue I know too many creeps that have never had a real life relationship or more than 5 mates because they spent so much time playing video games they genuinely struggle talking to normal people about normal things and seem to have no idea how they're ment to act in social situations then people like that end up doing some dumb shit like busting a vein and then some poor fucker gets in alot of trouble because they made a few jokes about them before they did it and they decide to blame them instead of the fact the person that tried to off themselves had about 3 mates spent all their time on games and online clearly had some kind of nerological issues said weired edgy shit all the time and was clearly going to do it at some point anyway with or without someone taking the piss out of him
I would definitely argue that violent video games can elicit feelings deep within an individual, but I'd also argue that it's because there's something there in them already to spark them to do something horrendous. I wouldn't say video games or anything that depicts violence is the cause so much as it is the enlightenment to the individual that they're capable of doing horrible things. Again, I believe it to be dependent upon the individual who's partaking in the content.
@@pawfector9463 yeah at most the best argument the people that say they cause violence is that a person with already violent tendencies played whatever game and that caused them to become more violent. Even then that argument doesn't stand on its own because they already had the violent tendencies so even without whatever game it was bound to happen regardless
Tbh, the MC looked like a bully and it was made by RS so I didn't want to play it either cause I didn't like being bad guys. Watched a play through years later and I definitely missed out.
dude I was exactly 13 when bully came out I'm from ontario out near toronto and they couldn't advertise it like they did other games. My mom had to ask the cashier to get it from the back. The game actually did the opposite for me taught logical lessons such as sticking up for yourself and others... that one will always piss me off the most
@@baconnator179 cause back in 2006 there was a real problem with bullying idk how it works now but back then the word bully couldn't be thrown up front of a store or displayed normally it was a weird time
haha, I remember getting this game by dragging my Mom to Walmart and the Lady had to get a key open the display and took about 2 minutes explaining how violent this game was and that my Mom was aware. Seriously, true story.
I always find it incredibly ridiculous when a game comes with an M rating (which is, and always was, 17+) but people still lose their shit and complain about it being "marketed to children" or other such nonsense.
I saw a Karen in action at a Gamestop AFTER ADMITTING SHE GAVE THE KID THE MONEY *TO GO BUY THE GAME* Of course she wanted a full refund... FROM GAMESTOP XD “You’re making BAD BUSINESS.” Her parting words, GAME IN HAND XD
@@HeavyMetal-jy4vj The "reason" it exists is completely irrelevant. The fact is, it does exist, and people choosing to be ignorant of it aren't really in a position to complain about the outcome afterward. It's like the warning labels on the cup when you order a coffee to go. Caution: HOT. No reasonable person needs to be told this, it's a fu@$ing coffee that's supposed to be hot. But some moron (or morons) spilled it and burned themselves and then sued the place they bought it from. So now the warning is there, meaning if you burn yourself that's your own god damn fault. Same thing for the rating on games or movies. If you are a shit enough parent that you don't pay attention to that kind of thing, then you aren't in a position to complain that your kid saw some NPC being disemboweled or some titties or some shit.
God the Spider-Man puddle controversy literally made me lose brain cells. People compared Insomniac to EA and Ubisoft... because the puddle graphics and physics weren't photo realistic.
Yeah, it makes no sense why people were giving them the amount of hate EA, Ubi or R* deserve for something as tiny as puddle sizes, like what Insomniac explained. It's common knowledge graphics look slightly better in trailers, because the game systems are more complex and require changes. People are so f*cking stupid.
Best part is I’m playing it and just saw a tweet. I’ve been on Xbox til my ps5 came a few days ago so I’m probably late but the in game twitter thing said “is NYC expecting a drought? I feel like there are less puddles than usual” 😂
@@brysongrayy I've never noticed that before, thanks for letting me know. God, I'm so glad that Insomniac is self aware to the idiotic statements their "community" makes.

@@kingp1n817 My parents thought my violent urges as a kid were the result of games like Grand Theft Auto. Once I stopped taking the anti depressants that a psychiatrist prescribed me all of my violent thoughts went away. They blame video games for children acting crazy, but I think the real culprit is the overprescription of medication to children in America. More than half of the Americans I know who are under 18 are on antidepressants, benzos or adderall. But no, video games are definitely the issue 🙄
I always found it ironic, and stupid, when news shows try to say that video games and movies are violent... When the most violent and most widely available thing people see is the news.
They used to say (and some still do) that rock/metal music makes people violent, but there are actual studies and they all show not only that it's untrue but the opposite is true, fans of such music tend to be less violent. In fact they have the most in common with fans of classical music There are also similar studies about gaming and there's nothing wrong with games, it's only bad if you play all day and miss out on life. Also it was found that gamers tend to be more intelligent, games are good for brain development, similar to learning languages.

It's worth noting that "puddle gate" was especially stupid because the puddles were actually randomly generated. Like they showed how it worked it was effectively anytime the day-night cycle went by it would change the location and pattern of the puddles. And it was a mechanic that they hadn't talked about before because there was no reason to talk about it
I still remember the puddle gate, i still think the game was amazing otherwise so it didnt bother me, also the video games causes violence thing still makes me laugh
I can easily believe that video games might have an effect on what already there in the person's mind. Similar to how certain martial arts will make a person more aggressive. But that doesn't do anything in and of itself when the person has great self control, etc. It all comes down to a multitude of factors
You forgot the biggest one in gaming history. They blamed Doom (the original) for influencing the kids that shot up Columbine, they even made allegations that they created maps just like the schools layout to plan there route of where they were going to go. This was HUGE and Im really surprised its not #1 on this list and its not even on the list
Oh shit, I completely forgot about that one. It's insane how people are so quick to find anything to blame for tragedies, because they just want a scapegoat and don't want to look any deeper into actual deeply rooted issues that cause such violence.
During one of the GDC presentations Insomniac explained the different puddles: "We switched from hand painting them to procedurally putting them, it's too much of pain to paint all puddles, that it. it's a different procedural scene." (the post was edited with the correct information as I misremembered some facts)
Digital Foundry actually proved it was a downgrade in addition to anyone with eyeballs. Even in this video, Falcon says while it was a downgrade it was "dumb." I honestly do not understand the outrage over this. It's the Streisand effect. The more people lie and try to cover it up, the more it exposes the complete nontroversy over the fact that yeah, Insomnia did in fact downgrade the game in several areas. What's with the denial??
@@isturboot1659 Ironically enough, almost nobody complained about the transition between different attack and dodge animations being somewhat janky in the gameplay reveal. Which for an action filled title is way, way more impactful than some random puddle you won't even notice during normal gameplay.
@@isturboot1659 I can somewhat see the downgrade in lighting, but overall the game still looks great on PS4. Also it was confirmed that the puddles were randomly generated based on weather and time of day, so I don’t get why people got worked up over that specifically.

I've heard a great comeback to the " vidiogames cause violence" debate: If playing violent vidiogames makes you a killer (or violent), why doesn't playing sports games make you an athlete?
I remember the Bully controversy like it was yesterday. I saw my dad watching the news how people were protesting its release and when I played it in the other room 9yo me was wondering if these people ever even played it. Several years later when I looked back I did a school essay on it for a social studies class and I got an A+ on it.
I remember the dumbest controversy around Pokemon that I heard back when it was first coming out. Since they were "pocket monsters," that meant they lived in your pockets where they could ... access your junk and perform sex acts on you. Like, what? Some people go to crazy lengths to demonize things.
About 10, I grew up in a very conservative Christian house and also attended a church like this (it was backwards in a lot of ways which eventually drove me to atheism but that's besides the point) my church thought Pokemon was satanic, they once even had a sermon about it, it was insane. Thankfully my parents even disagreed with the church here though and let me keep watching it (I didn't have a handheld game system back then so I wasn't playing it.) Also that thing you brought up about psychic stuff, I'm guessing you've never had to deal with conservative Christians as that's very real to them, my church full on found that stuff satanic too, I was also banned from Harry Potter for a long time because of this too. These days, I just view that stuff as fantasy/superstition though.
It's because cable news has to make money and not a lot of older people do not understand video games like they do T.V and moives. I think this thing also happened with movies when they were frist invented and in the 1980s the "moral" majority kinda called everything and everyone that they didn't understand evil to the point where they thought rock and roll and the Beatles were evil
Almost all the violence/satanic fearmongering all falls apart when you realize the people leading the charge have never read or played the content. I think some people really want a cause to either feel important or be perceived as such. Then others will indulge that behavior to further their own goals(politicians who need to be seen as heroes or distract from real problems). Then you have the people who don't want to be seen as the bad guy if their kid does something attention worth("embarrassing" or really bad). Comic books, video games, movies, songs, drawings, and so much more.
Man I lived through the Pokemon controversy. I lost so many cool things and had so many awful times because my parents thought it was satanic. Now, as an adult I'm a full on Christian with stronger faith than as a child and play Pokemon quite often. So does my daughter lol

But there was just ONE TINY DETAIL she managed to overlook... 🤣🤣
Since you mentioned both PETA and 40k there was a time where the former cried out against Games Workshop for the horrible act of having plastic miniatures with animal pelts on them. In a setting where at least three factions have units that wear flayed skin on them they cry about a plastic toy soldier having the pelt of a wolf or beast on it. Ffs peta.
I remember the Nintendo thing. People really thought the company was going to fail. I just kept calling those people stupid by the amount of money Nintendo makes.
Peta is the worst thing to happen to animal rights. I'm a vegetarian and a big supporter of protecting animals and reducing meat consumption and now literally no one takes such issues seriously because peta make the whole thing look like a joke.
The whole "Nintendo is dying" thing has been around at least as long as the GameCube. Back in the day I was in a lot of stupid console wars on forums and that was a line often parroted. Nintendo always finds a way to come back.

didn't know about this one, thanks for sharing! btw, about it being too realistic and gory, in my point of view, that's the point of the game, to be as realistic as possible to show us, normal civilians, how war should look like, and how bad it is.
I remember that controversy and the thing was… it had so much more than just the gore. The US Department of Defense (aka the US Military) had sought an injunction, claiming that the game breached OPSEC code and both the veterans as well as the developers could face legal action. When the final game eventually came out, much of the content was blatantly exaggerated on purpose causing the game to get the terrible reviews it received as a “Call of Duty rip-off”. The Pokemon one is one of the many, MANY reasons I'm thrilled my parents decided to not make religion a part of my upbringing. The silliness that comes with it looks exhausting.
It's satanic because it teaches children at a young age that evolution is a thing. Like any parent raising their children, they generally teach them their own belief system, whether it's a belief in God or not. So if you're religious and some games your kids play are teaching evolution, it's contrary to what you believe to be true and against what the, as an example, Bible clearly teaches. You can still enjoy Pokemon and be raised in a religious household because you're able to separate lies and truth. Like anything, whether an atheistic or polytheistic or monotheistic belief system, you'll have people who don't truly represent that true belief. Just because someone says they're a Christian doesn't mean they're genuinely a Christian. ☺️ Hope that helps.
I grew up going to church, and it was a good experience for the most part. The things I learned from the elderly, that tended to be the people helping at events, were more beneficial than the teachings themselves. I have also seen the worst religion has to offer as well. Any ideology can be used as an excuse to try and oppress things people don't like. Humans don't need religion to be able to discriminate.
Trust me it's really bad in some cases. Like when I was a kid I was never allowed to have friends over cause they would have been a "bad influence" on me and so on and so forth. Imagine being in middle school and everybody else was allowed to have friends over but you aren't. Somebody found out about me not being able to have people over and I got bullied and made fun of relentlessly cause of it. That's just one example of the silliness you're talking about. It even caused me to resent my mom a ton cause she was trying to force her beliefs on me and it wasn't working
It is just funny living through all that. I was ten years old when I got Mortal Kombat back in 1993. Some parents talked to their kids like my mom did who played with me especially when I knew the blood code. Just had to make sure we knew the difference between fiction and reality, just like comic books and what not.

I think the reason there’s so many allegations from fans of newer IPs that a 35 year old IP is somehow stealing content is because warhammer has been so simultaneously niche and yet formative for these creators
Managed a video game store in college, number 1 question by parents was “does this game have cursing,?” and I regularly saw parents by 6-10 year olds games with mature ratings as long as they had no cursing, and the developers were aware of this…
My mom was really weird about stuff with me. She didn't let me watch dbz cause of one time frieza said he was lord of the universe but then didn't have a problem somehow with yugioh even though you summon monsters and sometimes people get their souls taken to the shadow realm. I'm like what?
It's always fun to look back on some of the blatant stupidity in history, especially when it comes to various pieces of media. I always hated the "video games cause violence" allegation that always got thrown around. Any time someone tried throwing that at me, I'd usually just respond with something like "Oh really, then what kind of games were the Romans playing when they were crucifying people?" or "What games inspired the creation of -insert torture device here-?". The idea that video games cause violence is stupid and outdated. They don't make you any more violent than an over-enthusiastic football fan watching their team get smashed during the Super Bowl. As for people that do get overly and/or physically violent over sports or other forms of entertainment, then that's more than likely a personal issue, not something caused by their chosen form of entertainment.
My parents were really terrible with the whole Satan worship in video games.... We we're allowed to play a lot of games for that reason. Never played Diablo until after I was in my 20s because of that reason
I think we can all agree that Roblox is THE game that deserves media attention the most. I wouldn't even care if they slandered them in some way. That game has issues with pedophilia and gambling and no real media outlet is covering it.
Don't you just love when parents get all worked up that their kids are being corrupted by M rated games? How about don't let your 8 year old play games that are clearly designed and labeled for adults.
One of my favorites is Tracer’s pose being dropped in OW, yet the game still launched with Widowmaker. Character doing a “cheeky look over shoulder pose?” Absolutely vile. A character who is walking female objectification? Totes ok.
The recurring theme of this video can be summed up by the line in Weird Al Yankovic's "Dare to Be Stupid" - "Now it's time to make a mountain out of a mole hill, so can I have a volunteer?"
I remember when my pastor told me (I was like 7) that Pokémon was created for Satan worshippers. Then Pokémon go came out and I got into the series and realized how absurd that claim was.
If you do a new video you might include the controversy of God of war Ragnarok and reusing animations. Also, The claim that doom would cause school shootings and somehow did cause the school shooting in Columbine. That, in the matrix, but this is a list about video games and not movies
My respects for Nintendo, their IP's are so strong that they sell millions of consoles and copies. All age groups play them too, we can all enjoy a Mario game jus the same as we can all enjoy something like a splatoon or a pokemon game, others like Zelda have so many iterations that certain titles appeal to different fan groups (like the TP and WW split) yet as a whole, we all enjoy

The evolution and influence of games had some part to play in WW1 and WW2
I would definitely argue that violent video games can elicit feelings deep within an individual, but I'd also argue that it's because there's something there in them already to spark them to do something horrendous. I wouldn't say video games or anything that depicts violence is the cause so much as it is the enlightenment to the individual that they're capable of doing horrible things. Again, I believe it to be dependent upon the individual who's partaking in the content.
True. There is violent media because people are violent. People make the media, media does not make the people
@@pawfector9463 yeah at most the best argument the people that say they cause violence is that a person with already violent tendencies played whatever game and that caused them to become more violent. I always found it ironic, and stupid, when news shows try to say that video games and movies are violent... When the most violent and most widely available thing people see is the news.
Mainstream news is also a lot more manipulative, and intentionally so. If either of the two is more likely to cause violence, it's not video games.
They used to say (and some still do) that rock/metal music makes people violent, but there are actual studies and they all show not only that it's untrue but the opposite is true, fans of such music tend to be less violent. In fact they have the most in common with fans of classical music
There are also similar studies about gaming and there's nothing wrong with games, it's only bad if you play all day and miss out on life. Also it was found that gamers tend to be more intelligent, games are good for brain development, similar to learning languages.

About 10, I grew up in a very conservative Christian house and also attended a church like this (it was backwards in a lot of ways which eventually drove me to atheism but that's besides the point) my church thought Pokemon was satanic, they once even had a sermon about it, it was insane. Thankfully my parents even disagreed with the church here though and let me keep watching it (I didn't have a handheld game system back then so I wasn't playing it.)
Also that thing you brought up about psychic stuff, I'm guessing you've never had to deal with conservative Christians as that's very real to them, my church full on found that stuff satanic too, I was also banned from Harry Potter for a long time because of this too.

Probably the dumbest allegations ever made on a video game was the allegations against SIX DAYS OF FALLUJAH about being too realistic and too gory and with a controversial story that shows the U.S as an enemy disguised as the hero of the game for me as none american i find it kinda dumb the story of the game was about three real life soldiers narrating there stories through out the game with each mission ( level ) your character switches to one of the other soldiers and the game play is basically as we know now it's a survival horror tactical shooter so what made people mad about the game is two things :
(1) I.G.N and video game critics calling it out as a game that's too realistic and too gory to be called a video a game now keep in mind this game was supposed to be released back in 2010 back then parents and critics could make any accusations about video games are bad
(2) as i said already that some critics calling the story of the game making the U.S as an enemy disguised as a hero of the game which kinda doesn't make any sense as i said the story of the game is basically the story of the three soldiers about what they have been through their experience in FALLUJAH look im not an american neither a person from FALLUJAH but a real life story being translated into a video game that tells a story of three soldiers explaining what they have been is some thing i would be interested in
Anyway after all the accusations KONAMI the owner of the IP previously gave up on the project because of these accusations and the game was cancelled 10 years after in 2020 SIX DAYS OF FALLUJAH showed up back showing off it's mechanics , some game plays , some teasers , and also the devs that are working on it and also remember the three soldiers that i was mentioning ? yeah they are supporting the project to make it become a reality after a decade of waiting right now the game has gone a little bit radio silent but they still show some teasers there and there to be honest a military game that takes it self seriously is some thing i would love to play seeing what these soldiers have been through with out being a game that's like ( GO U.S.A !) type of deal and we already have alot of those we need some thing new and the tactical genre in general could become more immersive and it needs some thing new and fresh to do so with SIX DAYS IN FALLUJAH by being a tactical horror survival shooter
Edit : if i said anything wrong please tell me in the comment so i can edit it
didn't know about this one, thanks for sharing! btw, about it being too realistic and gory, in my point of view, that's the point of the game, to be as realistic as possible to show us, normal civilians, how war should look like, and how bad it is.
I remember that controversy and the thing was… it had so much more than just the gore. The US Department of Defense (aka the US Military) had sought an injunction, claiming that the game breached OPSEC code and both the veterans as well as the developers could face legal action. Personally i didn't consider SIX DAYS OF FALLUJAH as a rip off of COD i was considering more of a another military sim game like ARMA that wants to show up in the gaming space people these days are too overreacting to things i remember when DOOM 2016 was facing some controversy because of how gory it's and I.G.N were supporting that cause for what ever reason but then later on it was released and it was a great game parents and critics needs to understand that these are video games they don't encourage people to do this or do that i also love the fact that E.S.R.B was made for probably the dumbest reason it was mentioned in the video btw im not saying E.S.E.B is bad or anything but the reason why E.S.R.B existed in the first place is more laughable than reasonable that's just my opinion
@@taimaishu-nao1922 I think they just didn't want the shitty, awful things they were doing overseas to make it to mainstream news.
Oh my god, the PETA one is particularly hilarious. They pretend to care SO MUCH...But they misspelled tanuki as "tanooki".
I love how pokemon are being demonized then and now would have different meaning...thank god they didn't know anything about SMT
I rather live through these allegations all over again, over staying in 2022 where every game has a battle pass and micro transactions.
why? are you an addict?
I love videos with falcon because he has emotion in his voice and makes it all around better to watch keep up the great work
I remember the Pokemon being demonic rumor, we couldn't even own the toys as kids.
To this day, I remember a pamphlet from a local church stating the creator of Pokémon went insane and unalived himself while he was on mental institution 😅
Unalived is such a great term for that thanks
@@DMurcielago ctrl alt delete in real life
probably the most recent one I've seen was the guy that complained that you couldn't see ceilings in Pokemon, then claimed Arceus was the first pokemon game ever to feature ceilings.
The dumbest one I ever heard of is calling monster hunter a game that supports animal cruelty lol
The animals in those games are cruel to you lol
And even if the girls on Night Trap did get captured all you saw was the thing the vampires were using on their necks and you saw blood running through the tube but they said this game was the worst? MK definitely earned that spot
Gaming company: **released a game**

I watched right to the end and was blessed to hear the editing error of "right here on Gameranx" said twice, nice that you guys are human! haha!
Listen to something backwards…. Is that still a thing🤣🤣🤣 thanks for another great video.
Doom Eternal has secret message in the music actually its pretty cool
I played a game called Double Switch on Sega CD.
Same concept as Night Trap.
That game was so difficult, the only thing I remember was getting yelled at by a guy in glasses and a beanie for failing.
People assumed Bully was a bullying simulator, when its just a play on the name of the school being Bullworth & an old english term "bully" meaning good. Was called Canis Canem Edit - Dog eat dog in the UK because of this daft controversy.
Wait that's the origin of the name? Huh never really knew that. I just assumed it was going off of you taking down the bullies in game
Describing Night Trap as a “slightly interactive Saved By the Bell Halloween episode” is my favourite thing I’ve ever heard
@@pawfector9463 Thanks! It all seems pretty exhausting to me. I'm very glad it wasn't part of my life.
Well, it sure has made Satanic amounts of money. Almost as much as the Vatican, in fact.
Bless your parents, they had their heads on right. Didn't try to ban it, just sat ya down and had a conversation. Consider yourself lucky. The vast majority of parents of the last 30 years have been dismal failures.
@@mrenygma181 trust I have heard horror stories from other friends. but some kids did do a lot of dumb things just because of either comic books or video games.
When I was kid I played hours gta III for the psp and ps2, my parents never complained, later when I was 11 my mother bought god of war for the psp, she thought I would like it, I did and even though she saw the game she let me be because she knows that I knew the difference between fiction and reality
PeTA accused Ubisoft of promoting whale hunting with the release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Because yes, after playing Black Flag I got the urge to take a boat out on the sea and hunt whales for real with a spear...
If anything it did the opposite, that feature was so annoying sometimes
My mother forbid me from playing Bully at her place, but still let me play GTA San Andreas. Her reasoning was that I didn't want to be bullied, so I shouldn't play. My dad on the other hand didn't care, and he actually played with me a couple of times.
The best thing that can ever happen to me is my dad becoming a gamer
I love the space marines one, makes me think of kids saying that Kanye West did a great thing giving this unknown musician a chance... the unknown musician was Paul McCartney... 🤦♂️
That Pokemon shit really pissed me off when i was a kid. So many grown folks in the church, our household ( parents were religious), in our school woulnd't allow it because it promoted "Devil Worship". We always asked why but no one... I mean no one actually gave a legit answer to the question other than "God made it so".
I love how people were in an uproar over the supposed sex scene in Mass Effect that didn't even show any nudity, but none of them said anything about the game Dante's Inferno that actually did have sex scenes with full nudity
Bc mass effect sold more copies lol
I had to hide from my parents and watch pokemon when I was younger because of this same damn rumor. I was also deprived of Harry Potter for the same reason. I always felt so left out when other kids were talking about it at school.
Ah who can forgot that classic, yet gory and somewhat questionable scene in 'Bully' where Jimmy goes on a school Grenoside mission... I'm sure it's all coming flooding back, just the horror of mentioning it again...
Thanks for all the good work, men! I have nothing insightful or important to share
Devil worshipper here ! Pokemon converted me back in the 90s also if anyone knows where to get mew I'd be greatly appreciative
You gotta use strength on the truck near the S.S. Anne in Vermillion city.
I do appreciate the update and clarification from the guy that wrote the article about Space Marine. We don't see that happen as often as it should.
I always think it‘s funny how all these dumb ‘‘gaming causes violence controversies“ are against games which are by far not the most violent or brutal
Oh look, is that Animal Crossing, the most bloody, satanic and SA-promoting game?
Falcon out here still acting like his opinions are facts again.
When I played these games, I never even thought of them from this perspective 😂😂😂
I think the reason there’s so many allegations from fans of newer IPs that a 35 year old IP is somehow stealing content is because warhammer has been so simultaneously niche and yet formative for these creators
I'm surprised you didn't mention the big bad "video games cause violence." You know, the dumbest gaming controversy in history.
Managed a video game store in college, number 1 question by parents was “does this game have cursing,?” and I regularly saw parents by 6-10 year olds games with mature ratings as long as they had no cursing, and the developers were aware of this…
I remember when I was younger and went to my moms, I couldn't watch Pokémon, shaman king amd yugioh because it's a front to God or something.
I don't think your examples work, but I do agree with you.
My parents were really terrible with the whole Satan worship in video games.... We we're allowed to play a lot of games for that reason. Never played Diablo until after I was in my 20s because of that reason
please tell me they allowed you to play devil may cry, its literally about destroying demon's
@@Suno-ta-sei if it had Devil or Something like that we weren't allowed to play it
@@BenWebster84 damn. thats crazy
Totes ok.
I literally loled with the last one. Like its so comical, what?
The recurring theme of this video can be summed up by the line in Weird Al Yankovic's "Dare to Be Stupid" - "Now it's time to make a mountain out of a mole hill, so can I have a volunteer?"
Doom Eternal's "first female demon", meanwhile the first one was already implemented in either the first or second Doom game.
Love these kinds of vids.
Gameranx > IGN
I remember when my pastor told me (I was like 7) that Pokémon was created for Satan worshippers. Then Pokémon go came out and I got into the series and realized how absurd that claim was.
If you do a new video you might include the controversy of God of war Ragnarok and reusing animations. Yes this guy was very upset that when Kratos would get into a boat he would get in the boat the exact same way as in the reboot.
Bully being about actual bullying is "tell me you don't know what you're talking about without telling me"
I'd be willing to bet Yugioh had the same type of controversy as Pokemon tbh
Perhaps worse because they had to remove all the REAL pentagrams from dark magician girl and other various artwork
Seriously, the pundits who raved about Mass Effect back in the day should see the unfiltered Steam catalog these days. They'd have a field day on VR alone. And let's face it, everyone knew that VR and graphic sex would mesh about as well as Pam and Tommy on their honeymoon.
