    In this video, I'm scratch building a peg shelf with scrap wood & toothpicks, a bear trap out of an aluminum foil lid, a fireplace bellows with popsicle sticks & paper, and a hearth broom with a bamboo skewer & rope. I'm accessorizing my cardboard room box. It's only 3 inches deep but it looks deeper due to a forced perspective illusion. There's enough room for a fireplace, antique looking stove, a chair and lots of accessories. I made it using a damaged Home Depot box.

    As for something on the stove for food, I agree with most comments on a stew. I would also suggest a batch of biscuits to go with it. Rollin pin flour bag etc... In the making.

    I think an over flowing pot of stew will be super cute, with some baked bread. For behind the chair, maybe some fishing rods, and a shot gun? I think that will tie into bear trap/ hunting for food in an off grid setting.😊

    Love this little kitchen and how it's turning out. There are so many things to look at! I am learning many little tricks and getting many tips from watching this series... and I thank you very much.🥰
    - Just wondering... Is this kitchen located in a cabin that someone found while wandering through the forest in modern times and that's why everything is rusty and old? If it's actually in the 1800s, the person who owns it has no regard for their things. Maybe it's a trapper who lives alone and just doesn't bother with any of it? Sorry... I have a way of making up stories for everything. 🙃
    - Did you know that your bear trap is open and set to catch something? The "jaws" are together when it's not set. (Oops! LOL) But it made me smile when you "rusted it open".

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  Рік тому +1

      I'm thinking of this kitchen as a snapshot in time. Sometimes I sacrifice practicality in favor of a look. Like hanging a heavy, open trap on a rickety old shelf peg and adding rust 😆 I just like how it looks.
      I love the creativity and stories everyone comes up with. That isn't my strong suit.

    You have the best ideas for making your minis look realistic! The shelf is so cute with it’s little corbels. I did like the red dishes better but they still turned out great. The naughty backside! You crack me up, I’m weak! Lol! Everything looks awesome! Great job. A mouse or cat behind the chair!

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! A cat is a really cute idea!
      Today I took the time to remove the dishes and remove the paint. They look quite rustic but they're back on the shelf. I took photos of the process. I'll post the update tomorrow in the Community tab.

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  Рік тому +1

      I had blue ones for camping.
      I didn't realize how much the silver would just blend in. I definitely should've kept them red. I'm brainstorming ways to reverse the paint job. I may cut them off of the shelf to break the glue seal, then reattach them.

    IF someone is snowed in, a big pot of stew, bear stew? Maybe some Snowshoes on the wall. The old fashioned kind that look like they're woven from vines and twigs.
    Have you got a bearskin rug, mounted head, or wall hanging?
    When I saw you make serrated metal for your trap,. Was wondering if the serrated metal from the boxes of various wraps in the kitchen would work; the foil, cling wrap, waxed paper. Sometimes they have serrated metal tear strips. Good for set of steak knives. I think the bigger teeth is better for a bear trap though

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  Рік тому

      I love the idea of snowshoes! I'm thinking of removing the pot rack on the opposite wall. Maybe I'll replace it with a pair of snowshoes. I bought some vintage rattan pieces at my local dollhouse store. They're probably thin and flexible enough for that.
      I was actually looking for my serrated pieces from the aluminum foil box but couldn't find them. I need to organize my trash piles better.

    If you want to bring back some of the original red enamel on the plates I’ve recently discovered hand sanitizer is the ultimate thinner, reactivator and eraser for paint and every other media I’ve tried it on. Also for clean up and for eyeglass smudges. Although they look wonderful anyway.
