  • David Grier plays "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" on a Euphonon Dreadnought. The Larson Brothers of Chicago were best known for thinner, wide-bodied guitars but they made a handful of dreadnoughts. This example features mahogany back and sides. The guitar is in nice overall condition. The center seam has been repaired, the tuners replaced with Waverlys, strap pin holes at heel have been plugged, and other screw holes that are not plugged.

I know the previous owner of this guitar and played it several times. Yes, it sounds that great.

Great playing and great sound from that guitar. Perfect instrumental only version of the song; can hear the words through the guitar’s voice.

I just had to close my eyes and listen. Emotion-provoking, for certain.

You play a guitar like that and you’ve ruined her for all other pickers. Mighty fine!

The right hand is more important than the left. Especially with David.

Wow, the tune reminds me of home years ago. My Dad every Sunday took is on a long drive, would tell us all about the county we lived with. Always like the lonely sounding guitar songs when driving.
    That guitar sounds beautiful.

So frustrating at the beginning when I want to see his chord position the microphone is perfectly blocking it out. Not like me seeing it will help me play it like him😆

Song is by Hank Williams. Tune is great. Genius to play instrumental version. A master class even with mic partially blocking left hand.
