- Here is our 2nd Gospel Tangents Road Trip! We're visiting 2 temples and even get to go inside with our camera! Dan & Ann Hatch are the temple president & matron of the Nevada Temple for Christ's Church. We'll also drive near Modena, Utah to visit the pyrmaid shaped temple with Quorum of 12 President David Patrick and John Peterson, uncle to the current prophet Michael Peterson. I didn't realize Christ Church had a restriction on chocolate! I really enjoyed learning that just now because I decided to stop eating chocolate myself two christmases ago after reading Elder John A. Widtsoe's biography as a personal rule (I also stopped drinking caffeine about a year before that). Interesting stuff, thank you!
I think Elder Talmage tried to advise Pres McKay to quit eating chocolate, and McKay responded, "Do you want to take all the joy out of life?"

Actually that restriction on chocolate makes a lot of sense from the Word of Wisdom perspective. Would be interesting to know how and when this started being practiced by them.
@@summerlake356 Started in practice in 1992 in Christ's Church. However, chocolate and pork are mentioned in the Journal of Discourses vol 12, I think by George Q. Cannon. IDK what page, sorry.
great video . eureka is the name of the cute little mining town in the tintic mining district known for its gold and silver mines . the man that found the eureka mine was lds and his donations from the mine provided the funding to start brigham young academy now known as byu

I've been waiting to see this one. Been curious about what these Temples looked like since I heard you talk about the pyramid one. I love these travel ones!! Also, I didn't realize that Tin tic was the same as Eureka. My Aunt moved there and bought an old timey house there, that she claimed was haunted (but in good way, lol) she had names and back stories for all the ghosts, and most were people she said had lived in the town in the old days. Wild eh?!!
A 7-hour road trip by yourself with such beautiful scenery ending in an esoteric encounter with sacred space... you're living my dreams! Also I'm fascinated by concentrated solar power and you drove by the crescent dunes project not even knowing what it was... I'm so jealous. Were you allowed to film at all inside the pyramid temple?
Unfortuantely no, I didn't film inside the Pyramid Temple. They didn't bring the keys, and I hear it was vandalized and hasn't been used for a few years. COVID shut it down plus most moved to Nevada.
