    Only a true passion can give your life a sense of joy. You may recognize it because it transmits and spreads its happiness to others making them wish they were there. This video reminds me of Van Gogh´s visits to the wheat fields. Thank you for sharing your happiness with all of us.

    I've seen vids of Tom with an earlier incarnation of this bike and box system.. It certainly facilitates an extra dimension, in that placement of launch can be so conveniently chosen.. The runway graphics will help to inspire the next generation of creative aeromodelers also, which has to be a good thing. Beautiful craft and flying as ever.. The Dyna Moe is my favourite of these, but I must mention the calligraphic icon on the smaller model; absolutely wonderful work! Much appreciated. 🌟👍

    Enjoyed watching this. My very first folding prop job was a Dyna-Moe. It's performance was SO predictable that I could launch it into still air - stand in that same spot - and catch it as it glided down. I did that SIX times in a row one calm Georgia evening. And mine was yellow and blue also. This E-bike thing looks like fun. Wish I could do that.

    • @maxfliart
      @maxfliart  Рік тому +1

      Thx for the kind words & comments. The DT's are not the old fuse variety. Instead we use various viscous timers. Here's an article I wrote about them a few years ago. www.hallmanstudio.com/DT.pdf

    Hi thank you for your great videos. Could you tell me what camera/lens you are using to achieve such steady shots at extream zoom?

    • @maxfliart
      @maxfliart  2 роки тому

      Thx, Shane. I've been using an older Canon PowerShot SX20 (2009) which has a great optical zoom, along with a mild image stabilization. It's not as HD as current cams of course, but seems plenty for YT. Current cams IS is so strong, that it makes the zoom shots difficult to center...so I've stayed with this low frills cam. They're found used fat very low cost on sites like Mercari.com...often around $50-70. The only downside is if the sensor has dust spots, then can't be cleaned manually. Professional cleaning would cost far more than the cam's worth.

    • @maxfliart
      @maxfliart  2 роки тому +1

      I've never used a GG, but have everything I need with the simple thrust plate. Total thrust control and the cost is nil. Just a piece of .032 or .040 sheet alum. and a screw. Pennies.

    I'm curious as to how you determine your max winds for motors. On smaller motors I will wind to breaking in the shop and note e winds and torque, but not for larger. Do you use a graph or formula? Also, do you ever wind to torque in the field, or just count winds?

    • @maxfliart
      @maxfliart  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Phil. I don't have a formula, and have relied on experience with the various, similarly sized motors. Batches of new rubber can alter those numbers a bit, but generally they come fairly close. I'll wind a used motor to the breaking point back in the shop, if I suspect that I had many more winds left over. I'm sure a torque meter would quickly resolve any questions about number of winds, but I've never used one. I tend to go old school and rely on the feel & hardness of the motor as I wind to what I perceive to be close to max.

    I have an Easy Built Jimmy Allen Skokie, it is the best flying model I have. Where are you getting your dethermalizer mechanisms from? Mine doesn't have one so I have never really seen it's full potential for fear of losing it.

      Hi John- I've been using the Badge Classic from Starlink Flitetech Models. The Button classic is lighter but it's no long offered, as there have apparently been production issues, rendering them unreliable. I believe he still sells the Badge for a discount if u buy three. www.starlink-flitetech.com/badge-timers.php
