This is a demonstration on how NOT to use it. The Tribrach is lose on the tripod. At 3:40 you can see it spinning on the tripod which means it is lose and you will not get anything level. Should perhaps clarify this in your video IF you wan people to actually use it correctly.
I have to agree with the other 4 comments before mine and I need to add one more important point. The goggles are laser enhancing googles that make it easier to see the red laser line, they actually filter out all the other colors except red to make it easier to spot the red line. Just wanted to warn others not to look into the laser beam thinking it would be safe while using the googles.
Absolutely, I just posted regarding that very important bit about eye protection ,this video could be dangerous if someone thinks they are going to have eye protection while wearing the rose tinted glasses.
There is a left thumb rule which makes it much easier to level a tribrach or legs. Turn your tribrach until the bubble sits half way between two screws, facing those two screws if you turn them in opposing directions the bubble will go in the direction your left thumb is travelling in. Get that bubble in the centre and then turn the 3rd screw until the centred bubble travels into the inner circle, can be done in seconds.
Regardless if he has it level or not, is this the correct process to set up and level this thing? I just bought one, have no experience with laser levels, and am having a bear of a time getting it level all 360* can get it level on one wall so if that’s all I’m doing then fine, but no matter what I do I can’t seem to get it to stay level and be able to rotate it
To test your level, find a room with 2 opposing walls, stand the laser on the tripod near one wall, get it level, mark red dot with pencil, turn 180 degrees to get red dot on opposing wall and mark. Now move tripod near to other wall, get it level, adjust height so that red dot matches pencil mark, turn 180 degrees, see if red dot matches original pencil mark. If it doesn't match, smash the whole thing up and get straight length of wood and an old skool spirit level.
I just bought one and it clearly states that the glasses are not for eye protection ,but for being able to see the laster beam .the bubble on the level it self is away out to .
@ 4:14 you say "the bubble is perfectly in the center" of this middle part. But on the level itself the bubble is far from being in the middle. How come. I'm bothering myself with the leveling the whole thing. The tripod is perfectly balanced. The middle part is also perfectly balanced, but just until I turn it for yx degrees. Then the bubble moves out of the centre. What am I doing wrong?
Is that some dodgey bit of ceiling join I can see over your left hand shoulder mate? Think you need Mr Rejuvaroof to come and fix it for you? Lol. Only playing. Video helped me out a lot. Many thanks (8 years later). How you are still alive and healthy? Cheers.
Just wanted to know how-to insert batteries...my level shows 2AAA battery pictures on the side! I searched and searched but no one answered my question! UGH!
I own one of these. There should be a Red on off switch above the hole where you put the inserts for either a straight line or a single dot. All you do is screw the Red on off switch anti clockwise and the batteries are inserted with the + facing upwards. Be careful NOT to look down into the laser hole EVEN WITH the safety Red Tinted Google's. 4 years late but this popped up on my search.
I would bet a thousand dollars the wall is fine, but your level and usage of levels is off whack. Very funny video - those are not safety glasses - it's to help see the line better because it is a weak ass laser.

If that is level then the brickwork behind you is way out of level.
You said that the tripod and holder were level. Rubbish. Look at the bubble in the spirit level, it at least 10 mill out.
You didn’t tighten the swivel mount to the tripod!
That's not Level... you need glasses lol

how do you fix the laser in this type of level. mine is raking upwards from level point 😂
the buble is not at the center, just it out again.
