Another excellent video. That looks like a nice knife for a low price, but, like you, I'm cautious when it comes to coated or blued knives for food prep. Do you guys ever use folding knives? An episode with folders would be fun. Keep up the great work, you have a truly fabulous channel! Oh, yeah, I want a cap!!
Thanks so much!🙏 you will be joining the cap lottery 🤘. Yeah we have a couple of EDC folders. We both use our Spyderco most of the times. We take that idea with us for a future episode 👍 cheers!
Please take me in the lottery for the Cap again. I need it. Maybe you have the possibility to test a Victorinox knife. I like their multifunctional knives but have no experience with the fix blade knifes of them. For example the Outdoor Master. Keep on with your great channel.
You are in the game again 😁💪! Thank you! That knife has a great bushcraft look. Maybe we can get our hands on it one day and will make a nice review about it👍
We really like the shape of the B1 and the grind of it. The handle scales moved a bit of the b1. That was a pity but not a problem. That we did not have with the Dusk. Need to have both knives in front of us to give you a proper answer 👍
@@Circa1664 I got the Dune, and was wary of such a light duty sheath it came with. I had recently purchased the DBK bush craft knife from BPS, and the sheath it came with was way too loose. So my solution was to buy the sheath only option from BPS made for the mora garberg for approximately $ 30 Canadian. Will easily fit the knives and I’ll repurpose the other sheaths
Don't use the jumping on firesteel! Use the part between jimping and the wood of the handle. This gives better sparks with less damage to the firsteel.
I'm dubious when it comes to jimping on knives. For EDC pocket knives, mostly folders, jimping isn't all that intrusive, but for bushcraft knives, they don't serve much purpose and in fact, can encourage bad habits in users who are new to the knife usage, as in thumb on spine when push cutting instead of the hammer grip. Of course, your mileage may vary but personally? I prefer a smooth spine on my knives.
@@westcoastbushcrafters the scales and grinds on the blade are uneven, They aren’t close at all. I have had these problems with condor knives also. It is a problem with quality control.
Great video guys! I was amused by how you inflated the mattress, it looked like you were inflating an old fat crocodile! It was nice to see the knife in action, beautiful nature and forests and fire... And something on fire, great!!! So, good luck and be healthy! I send greetings! ps: well, you see, the birthday is coming, it sounds good, a good opportunity to make yourself happy.. Maybe with something sharp.. I don't mean spices now.. chili pepper or... Terrible knife design for bushcraft absolutley terrible nightfall slightly better but that dusk will put you in hospital if you had to use it for a month every day .
@@westcoastbushcrafters you cant push or stab with it as it has no funger choile your hand will slide on to the blade , i was teaching knife making for 10 years .
@Edgunsuk that is the last thing you want to happen in the forest indeed. Just a curious question: what is your opinion about puukko knives in that regard?
@@westcoastbushcrafters pukko knives are not built for stabbing , there is no need for it in their general use with gloved hands ( i got one for christmas last year from the wife lol) a pukko is not a general bushcraft knife as we know it + it is almost always acompanied by an axe .I have the same problem with the bushlore knife by ray mears no finger choile so you cant push with it and that thing is £600 with a three year waiting list and is still only £25 in materials.
Thanks guys, another great video. 😊
Thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment 😁👍

Thank you René! :)
Congrats to the winner! Thanks for the review. We respect your opinion. 🤗
Thank you! Would you like to be part of the next cap lottery?
@@westcoastbushcrafters We sure would! Thank you!
@denisegustafson 😁👍
Nice guys! That is the proof, you don’t have to burn much of your money to have a knife and a good time in the woods 🤘🤘🤘
Very well said😄👍! That is absolutely the case. A bit the opposite compared to the upcoming episode… SPOILER🤣🤪
The grooves on the back of the spine for your thumb are called "jimping".
Nice! Thanks for pointing that out! Now we know for the next time😁👍
I want a Cap!!! I really want one!!! cool video guys!!!
Appreciate your enthusiasm!😁💪 thanks a lot!! Hope you will be a happy winner soon😁

Very nice testing a budget/entry knife for once! Wish i knew of this sooner. Like 2 weeks 😭😁
Haha bad timing! What is the effect?
Try the bps also from Ukrainian in the same price range. I have several that are excellent
I got one awhile ago but the blade cut through the sheath after a couple of uses.
That is not cool! Should not happen so easily

We agree there. We prefer rampless on our fixed blade knives.
I have the nightfall and that knife wasn’t very well made. For the price it’s not bad
