I went to his concert during his tour, he's a genuinely great guy. I mean, he stopped the performance to help somebody who was passed out and also gave the spotlight to a guy proposing to his girlfriend. The energy he brings out is so cool.
Did the guy proposing succeed?

I’m so proud of him, I’m from Vancouver too and hearing him talk about the DTES and then realizing he just did the BBno$ bonanza for the DTES just weeks ago makes me so proud of him, he did it! He helped our community in such a beautiful way 😊
I feel this. There really is so much out there. Luckily. I think I'm just going to keep doing my stuff regardless
Yo. your channel is actually really wild. Keep it up!! I love it
True that, I make stuff too and I just find the process so fun so I could care less about gathering an audience and streams and stuff.
Subbed.
I think it is more for people that become homeless, take debt, and try to make 100% of their income from this thing they might not be good at. Like Elon followed his dreams, lived in an office eating off of a dollar a day. Not sustainable if you don't have a good product
how difficult is to make a person like him open up? he just seems like he never paused living his life.
I love that your doing stuff like this with people I never expected you to collab with!
Ive been listening to bbno$ for a couple of years and its really great to see the Dr interview him! Bbno$ is great and I can't wait to see him grow even more!! 🔥💕
I feel like on some degree, so many successful youtubers avoid personal questions because if they actually went in maskless, they'd realise just how chaotic and unreliable their career is. This felt like so many other Dr K interviews. Dr Mike is one of the first ones that came to mind.
i think I disagree with Dr Mike's. He seemed to be genuine in his interview but it took a turn into explaining/debating the nature of enlightenment. I kinda wish Dr K went more into his process and how he got into mind body medicine specifically because that's what seemed to interest him the most at the beginning of the interview.
interview Anthony palladia i believe that would be a very educational person to interview as he does much shorter interviewes with alot of diffrent and diverse people
Within the first few minutes I looked up this guy's music because I had never heard it. I was not impressed. But by 35 minutes in I can already tell this is an intelligent individual with a lot to give the world. I absolutely love the "my goal for this next year it to become the best human being I have ever been."
Pretty dope dude.
This chat is so all over the place, and K's so chill with it.
I'd have had to stop several times to be like "Hold on, what are we even talking about right now" xD
Listening to this and being a musician... I'm really happy to know that it's not just me or not just underground artists; someone who has mainstream attention genuinely feels the exact same way. Shouts to Alex, genuine guy
This is a crossover I never knew I needed
BBno$ is a great guest
This interview reminds of the Dr.Mike interview as i feel like we weren’t getting the actual personalities/feelings. Dr.Mike seemed to operate by avoidance of personal questions making it difficult to get to understand him on a personal level. BB, Although answered the questions, didn’t come across as genuine answers, something about the way he presents himself felt like he is putting up a different face. Not to say it is on purpose, a lot of people wear a different face without realizing it as a lot of people lie to themselves to justify certain aspects of their life.
Regardless, Dr.K did great at working with what he was given and even pushing further questioning. It was just unfortunate that BB didn’t seem to truly open up during the interview. (Or at least that’s what it felt like to me personally).
Dude I'm so surprised there is not a lot of people talking about this in the comments. I listened to the whole thing and this guy is soooo fake. I don't know who he is but he just spits out the most generic answers you hear everywhere and it came across so contradicting. I think he had very little self awareness and a way bigger image of himself. He literally says how he never stops and works so hard non stop and he needs a break from work then follows it up by saying he had to stop partying and started taking coffee at 3 in the morning to do the EP. He is so full of contradictions and BS I'm surprised dr K wasn't calling him on it
to me it sounds more like he doesn't want to think about these deeper questions cause it could change what he's come to feel comfortable in. and god, do we humans crave comfortability
I would love to see Dr K talk to Kenny Beats or JPEGMafia i feel like they would also have interesting insights into nit just the music industry but also life in general
Edit: Also Dr K reacting to Kendrick is something i need to see
Hoping for a follow up video where Dr.K gets a chance to actually like....talk through this guys issues. It was basically just him talking the entire time. That's not a bad thing, but it felt more like a "get to know me" discussion without any real depth.
This is why I prefer when he interviews people who aren't e-celebs. Sometimes they do have "real" problems, but even then they can afford therapists
One of the realest artists i've heard in interviews. Canada represent 🇨🇦
I wish there was more in the interview that addressed the videos title, but it was really cool that the team managed to get a musician and I hope there can be more interviews like this!
I watched the whole thing, what Dr K said at 59:30 really stood out to me as I was kinda hoping for more concrete advice or something to relate to I guess? It seems like the takeaway here is just the fairly common, grind as much as you can and it's just luck but bbno$ didn't really go too much into detail about the challenges it takes to keep grinding, do 10k+ hours of music, and the uncertainty of whether or not people will like it. I'm guessing he talked a lot since musicians do a lot of interviews where the point is to talk and he didn't want to come across as ungrateful as someone who's gotten so much success, hence the (artificial?) positivity.
Yeah that's my belief too of him not wanting to come across as an ingrate, but as you basically said it unfortunately made this interview less interesting and relatable than it could've been had he delved deeper into the universal struggles people have regardless of success that he surely also has. Like him talking about the annoyances of life on the road when Dr.K asked about any darkness (or to that effect cause I'm paraphrasing) that he draws from was the most superficial answer ever, lol. He seems like a nice guy though and I do wish him well.
@@KaneWrestlingFan999 you guys are both on the money
Exactly he went into PR scripted mode, didn’t open up.
Or maybe you can't really relate as well as the other interviews because he talks about his own experiences and challenges that don't line up with your own? Not everyone is going to talk exclusively about the human condition. Not everyone will treat it as public therapy. The guests are there for their own reasons.
there are so much people in the world and each of them is trying to bring something new to it. if not living in era of internet it wouldn't feel so sharp but it's hard to feel your personhood now, there is always someone who is better version of yourself and you just dissolve and cease to exist.
I remember when i found Baby, couldn't stop listening for like 3 months and i somehow listened to him more in those 3 months than anything else in the whole year, cause he was the top of my end of year charts. Got me through the biggest break up of my life and makes me happy he's from van
What an incredible Collab, this is exactly what I needed Dr. K!!
you should take an interview with Rich Brian too, i think his life story is really interesting and also full of Inspirations

That's what I've been calling him since day 1
It's "baby no money"
Such an good interview. One of my favorites of the year in fact. As someone who is torn between pursuing a creative career related to music, writing or photography and one that is more practical in a STEM field I resonate strongly with just about everything he said.
BTW, bbno$ isn't the same guy in the Fitbit ads ("You feel that? That's you're body baby!") Think that's a different guy who looks similar to him...

Im not sure if this is on me, but i found it really hard to watch this, he talked way more than guests usually do, and didnt seem very interested in dr.Ks view or opinion but i havent watched it completely.
Appreciate his courage and willingness to do this though.
It felt like he was just waiting for Dr K to stop talking so he could start talking about himself again lol.
Yeah this was just bad content. I’m sure the guy has deeper issues in there somewhere but he definitely wasn’t willing to sacrifice his image to talk about them
@@QMS9224 i dont even think thats the case, dr.k himself said a couple times that some people need an active therapist who does most of the talking and some need a passive one who just listens and i think bbno$ falls in the ladder category
I was scrolling through comments to see if anyone felt the same, this guy to me is coming across very egotistical. I'm 25 minutes in and I feel I'm not getting anything from this interview. He talks a lot, tooting his own horn, Dr K is not challenging any of his thoughts, I don't know if I wanna keep watching.
@@earlymorningladyfarts Bruh he probably never talk about his issues like that with anyone. He had a lot to say and just got lost into it. I think he expected Dr. K. to intervene more but he didnt really know what to say so he kept talking
I really think bbno$ is a super caring and awesome person, and he is super talented and I love his music.
But I'm about halfway through the interview and I'm feeling off about it. I get the sense that there is a wall with him that Dr. K just isn't gonna be able to crack with him in just this one sitting. I would be super curious to be a fly on the wall in a setting where Alex could talk openly without the intrusion of an audiance to get into the core of these weird dualities he seems to struggle with.
He is an extremely positive person, and yet you can tell he has just so worn himself down so much. I think he needs to embrace the fact that it is ok for things in his life to be challenging without needing to present a perfect solution to every problem.
i don't think he really understands himself fully maybe 🤷🏻♂️
I feel like he holds the fun he's having in his life, so dearly, that he is and has been willing to look passed or not look directly at the toll its taking on his mental and wellbeing. Also his comments of entheogens is interesting: psychedelic's are tricky, even when done infrequently, as opposed to rarely, and can warp ones perception of goals, while also instilling a renewed sense of self and connection. Therefore, despite feeling happy and resilient, it can act as a crutch when one is lost in life, listlessly searching for purpose. like bbno$ said, the reset button is always there when he needs it. until it isn't.
I think this is the new workoholism. And it's still bad for you - even if you love what you do and are pretty successful at it ...
Sadly most of us don't have much of a choice still gotta get food on the table
40:41 damn... In this moment hearing him talk I could imagine the pressure. This kind of pressure to be something and be cherish by the family is hard. As someone with ADHD I kinda related to him in someway, I ask myself if he also has ADHD or something. But he really seems like a chill dude and that care about people.
same i have adhd too and am really curious- i say "you know?" a lot im conversations when i don't really know how to explain my thoughts and i noticed that he does that a lot too, as well as being kind of all over the place and having a hard time describing his thoughts
@@IPH-1212 same here, I think we get this pattern a lot in social interactions. I'm now more calm than when I was a kid, but still the mind goes fast. Describing thoughts always make me goes like "hmm" then replying after some time, it's really hard describing.
This week on intervention with Dr. K
The issue is people's dreams are in domains that will have negligible impact on their psychological richness/meaning/happiness. Career is only a paycheck once people realize that are start putting that saved energy towards family, friends, community, volunteering, and hobbies they will have happier, psychologically richer, more meaningful lives.
I agree, there's so much more to life than just earning money. That's why i strive to enjoy the present as much as possinle than to ruminate or fear the future too much.
what if your hobby's your dream though? I wouldn't wanna live a 9-5 corporate job just to then make some music here and there in the few hours I have of freetime.
@@AnymMusic If you depend on your hobby for making income the impediments of either having a boss, the stress of paying bills, the stress of handling legal issues, and any aspect that is necessary to make the hobby profitable that is not part of the core aspects that you enjoy will suck all the fun out of it. I think for the sake of maintaining something you enjoy it's best to avoid depending on it for your income. If you do it for fun and occasionally sell a song or have a tour as the cherry on top then go ahead but I think any added pressure or stress would ruin the joy you get out of the activity.
the collabs on this stream are getting so wild lately
When Alex described his music making process I thought of this quote
"Listen within yourself and look into the infinitude of Space and Time. There can be heard the songs of the Constellations, the voices of the Numbers, and the harmonies of the Spheres." ~ Hermes Trismegistus
well I never expected this cross over
big bbno$ fan, unbelievable that this interview exist and I am 1 year late
Interesting interview. I would definitely be into an interview with someone who is, perhaps more of a musician than what gets the limelight. Although understandable that it would probably not be a great fit for this show, it just seems as though deeply passionate and connected musicianship is almost completely absent from most parts of the industry. People gripping real instruments and using their bodies to actively create in real time, whether through improvisation or otherwise. Rhythm, chord, and melody. There really is something special about it. I fully respect what this guy does, though, and am honestly becoming a fan lol.
Not because im interested in doing an interview or anything but i just relate to your comment. Im a musician who's, i guess, kind of like what you describe: just someone who is very passionate about playing their instrument. Ive never really found a career path because i'm not very outgoing and social and just want to play guitar. Also my mental health has held me back a lot from finding my way in the industry, as it takes so much energy and willpower, firslty to even learn to play, and secondly to find a career. The world is terrifying to me as i never felt like i have a place in it. I know it's my purpose in life to be a musician but i doubt i'll ever see any kind of career from it unfortunately.
@@menamgamg man I'm very much the same. I've been making music since 2016. I started making beats and trying to sell them online and I kind of started to get a momentum for it. When I got in to university in 2019 for engineering I realized that I just wanted to make music. I felt very alienated there and I knew my inner creativity and imagination is the biggest gift I was given. I dropped out in 2020 and switched from making beats to learning guitar and just focusing on music that is really in harmony with my imagination (I was also starting to hate the "beat making" business so I gave that up too).
Right now I'm at a point in my life that I'm considering to going back to school for something else than music. like...... this music thing doesn't seem to work for me and I feel like It's kind of better to stop trying before I turn in to a resentful person that some "failed" musicians seem to be. Making music and art will always be something that I will do but it seems that this existential crisis that I've had over 2 years and me forcefully trying to build a career out of music has eaten everything else from my life. There isn't much of a life for me to attend to outside creating music. I'm a little worried if I'm ever going to be able to surrender this anger filled drive to create a career from this. It has nothing to do with the joy of creating and I wish to let it go.
@@maneasd4600 I think for me, i've been playing since i was 15 (now 30) and at this point i'm way past feeling like i have to make something out of it to prove myself. I had a lot of struggles with that earlier in my life though and in my teenage years i was obsessed and played 8h minimum a day because my mind was set on having a career in music and i was going to get there through working extremely hard, and i did until eventually my mind just broke down from the pressure. What i've realized was that it's just not about your skills as a musician, it's equally about getting out in the world and putting yourself out there, and doing it in a healthy way. Isolating myself and sitting in my room playing to only myself every day, was not the answer because that's not developing crucial skills that work in the real world.
Ive had years of depression and distancing myself from music in long periods. I've only recently come back to it with passion again, and im learning to play music only because i love it and without the expectation of results. I think that is the only healthy way to do it unless youre lucky enough to have a personality that fits well into what's generally expected in of you in the music industry.
So my advice would be to never give up, but to try to find what it is within you that won't let you just enjoy making music, and work on that.
@@menamgamg thanks, that just made me smile especially that last tip. I do have an inner dilemma in me and the drive to make a career from music has been like a furious scream towards that it.
Really really appreciate the answer because that's something I've already started to truly understand but the mind has always found a way to sabotage. It's really some ugly and scary stuff underneath my own depression that needs my attention. Always so tempting to dedicate my whole life to music so I wouldnt have to deal with my shit.
I'm glad you found a way back to your passion with joy this time!
I can't stop looping Edamame, nice to see a different side to the man

Question for Alex and other musicians: do you wish fans would talk to you more? I always felt like I would be a burden to reach out. I've reached out to book authors and they genuinely appreciate the praise.
I'm not a musician but I think it varies person to person, however in general I think it's safe to say I think people really enjoy hearing how their work inspires others and makes a connection. Whether it be with art, music, dance, etc.
It is probably great to get the attention from fans the issue is fans wanting it back. The imbalance of 1000 people messaging your a day and you cant respond to everyone but want to is what causes probably causes stress to a lot of streamers. If you send a message just go in thinking they won't see it, but if they do it will hopefully perk them up.

Maybe Alex seems to be talking more than others is bc he doesn’t get to always have the chance to get these things off his chest. It seems a bit unorganized, Dr. K does wonders with the interview by bringing him back in and make Alex question some things he says. But I love bbn$’ music, and he really does seem like a good person. It doesn’t look it on the surface that there was “progress “ but even getting the chance to hear Alex speak in a different environment is a good perspective.

Omg I thought this was Dylan Is In Trouble
I'm not done with the interview yet, but I'm getting a "toxic positivity" vibe from the rambling, mixed with a survivorship bias from being financially successful (nothing matters? okay tell people who are trying to pay rent). It seems a bit out of touch with how he is actually feeling? Not really genuine? This isn't a slight on his music at all. But his words don't seem to match with reality.
I think it depends on if your offended or not, because if he doing all the toxic positivity and survivorship bias then it tells you a lot of his mentality which isn't bad but this was the probably the only way he was able to get through. Maybe he hasn't reached the point where he realized it's not substantiable or maybe for him it is.
@@abandonrz Well, what makes toxic positivity toxic is that it's literally impossible to be "positive" all the time. Even the most spiritually "accomplished" people (think like Dalai Lama level) don't talk about being "positive", they talk about accepting the wholeness of life, which inevitably will have unsatisfactory aspects. Some of his language just seemed like he was backing off of the more unsatisfactory parts of life in this interview. Even his use of "God bless" in some places seemed like he was saying it to ward off "negativity", like he was gonna jinx away his success by even mentioning it.
But yeah, he may not have reached a certain point yet.
nothing matters -poor person
he's talking about his healthy "relationship with detachment" in terms of spirituality as dr. k put it
