Wide toe box, non minimalist shoes are way too rare. I generally don’t get why they aren’t more common since it just overall better regardless of activity
Just as an FYI for anyone wanting to purchase these right now: The Lavender colorway is on sale 30% off, since they're being phased out. They don't show that they are 30%off on the store-page; but are instead marked as "Final Sale"; which, as far as I know anything marked as such will automatically apply the 30% discount after adding them to the cart/going to checkout. The sale brought them down to $98excl tax; which is definitely worth it for what imo is a very great colorway.
Happy I found this review. Just saved me $140. Still looking for something to replace my Altra Riveras. Tired of the upper blowing out before I can get 100 miles on them.
Check out the new flux adapt trail runners its literally everything you could want in a show plus it even has ground technology EARTHLINK which is crazy .. just got mines and its replaced all my other shoes feel great and amazing no matter what your doing seems like they took advise of customers on this shoe and made a huge upgrade.
Thank you - tbh with you, I have no idea what Flux is doing atm. Seems like they're doing a major re-org at the company and I don't even know if they're still supporting affiliate codes for athletes and folks like me who bought the shoes for review
Not convinced these are actually zero drop. On their website you can see that the measurement starts at the heel and goes to where the toe spring starts. It should be to the end of the toe. Topo does this too and it pisses me off.
Base of the forefoot and heel are typically what’s measured for drop, not end of toe. It’s a weird concept, though, and I feel like there should be a third toe spring measurement included in shoes like this
I’ve exclusively run in Altras for the last 8 years or so. Are these worth looking into, or should I stick with the tried and true? I loved my Escalantes and I have a pair of Torins now but it’s an older model that has the oddly uncomfortable tongue. I heard they fixed that with the newer ones so maybe I just go that route.
@@thatfitfriend Thanks for the reply and good to know! I'll probably stick with Torins for my longer runs and Escalante Racers for speed work then, but I may buy some of these anyway for just casual wear. One thing that you can't really argue about is that these look way cleaner. Altra sure makes some interesting decisions on the colors they choose to come out with.
@@AL_1547that’s my exact issue, I love the feel of altra toe box but they look hideous, why can’t shoes that are good for our feet also be stylish? 😭🤦♂️
I’m looking for a shoe with a wider toe box that has good support. I had back surgery a few years ago and my doctor told me to get shoes with good support. I’ve been wearing a pair of On shoes and they’re very comfy, just looking for something with more toe space. Would these Flux shoes provide good support? Thanks!
I'm looking for shoes that are great for sprinting sessions, about 5-10 miles a week, and something that could help reduce shin splints. Any recommendations?
Was looking at the trail and waterproofs. I’m a caddy and have had good luck with the Nike peg trail4 gtx but the new shoe is too narrow. I also like the adidas free hiker 2 gtx as well but have been considering Flux. I like the zero drop idea I just wonder if they can handle work. I’m schlepping up to 80 lbs on the side of a cliff all day. Any recommendations in the shoe/boot space that can handle the elements . I have very square feet so I was thinking about trying topo since altra is complete garbage. I put about 500 miles a month on shoes so I literally kill a pair a month.
Tough to say definitively because your direct injury will be individual along with how you'll internalize a shoe's fit etc. Should be plush enough, but again, impossible to say for sure on stuff like this.
so hard to find a good shoe... luv your vids. i have feet but LOVE wide toe box and zero (or minimal) drop. Cant wear brooks and nike after altra toe box. The Altra Timp4 by far favorite most comy daily driver but pricey and less durable then the Lone Peak. I like the timp4 29mm stack. Looking at other brands but dont know...
that's a $30 shoe lets be real. It's basically the same thing as the sketchers they sell at costco for $25 except it's got a wider last in the toe and minimal drop. $150 for a shoe like this is really insane.
