The problem with “toxic masculinity” is it’s just toxic behavior. Behavior that men and women both can have. Yet, it’s considered “masculine” as if toxic behavior is tied to males. Toxic behavior is tied to human emotions. It’s not a “male” issue.

"Toxic masculinity" was coined by the feminist movement (hence, "masculinity"), but it's really a toxic person that is responsible for the types of experiences expressed by these young ladies. Feminism seems to believe that ANY truly masculine behavior in a male is 'toxic'!

Anyone who does not know the words toxic masculinity is a oxymoron has no idea what masculinity is.
I am so dumbfounded by this girl trauma dumping, then saying shes all about giving put empathy but she wants it back, then questioning the guy "do you feel empathy for me" over and over after being completely oblivious to any problem a man could possibly have
Empathy is just projection after all. It's not possible to actually feel what someone else does so we put ourselves in their situation and ask how we would feel, which is better described as projection. This trauma dump shows what it is she is projecting when she tries to imagine what a man feels.
That's the issue with empathy, it stops working as when you get an emotional stake of your own in the topic. Compassion keeps working because it is a conscious choice not based on feeling. I would have told that girl, I have no empathy for you, because I have never had that experience. But I have compassion for you, and can tell you if I was there he wouldn't have gotten away with treating you like that. And then they would probably call me toxicly masculine.
I feel like what makes a good man is just what makes anyone a good person. What makes a good woman is also what makes a good person.
So you don't think a good man might have different characteristics from a good women? Like you can't think of any ways we might behave differently or have different expectations based on gender?
My cousin once stepped into a fight and saved a guy that was being attacked with a hammer. I don't mean to offend anyone but if he had been a women, he wouldn't have been physically capable of doing that. Unless a women is armed, she would probably be of more help getting help. Knowing that the police were called might chase away the attacker before anyone dies.
Why is everyone trying to abolish gender? with both have a way to contribute and we shouldn't expect that contribution to always look the same.
Maybe its just that many of the good attributes are being labelled as specific for either males of females. That said, there still are good gestures and practices that are most seen in one or the other, like emotional strenght and problem solving for men and insight and detailed empathy for woman

Went out to dinner with my husband at a very fancy restaurant. A black women at the next table was obviously on a date and spent the whole dinner talking about generation teams and how she feels trams from her slave ancestors and how much trauma she feels. He wasn't comparing women and children directly. He was giving an example of how society treats groups differently even if they're equal. For example, women tend to receive less harsh punishments for the same crimes that a man commits. Does that mean they're not legally equal? No. They're still being held accountable by the law. But they're receiving different treatment. Children legally have the same basic rights as well but surely you can see they're treated differently based on social conventions?
children are children there is no reason at all why a fully grown woman with full mental faculties and the right to vote or run a business etc etc should not be held as accountable for her action.

Thank you for noticing this very distinct point that seems entirely lost when the video is viewed. It's an instant snap judgement on hearing trigger words that made him lose all credibility which was, honestly, pretty unfair. He was shut down so hard that he then wasn't allowed to form a complete opinion because he became "the enemy" instantly.
I do think he was presenting an idea from an easily misconstrued way by the words he selected and the order of the things he was saying. That can be very difficult on the spot when put in an unfamiliar place and discussing topics that are very heavily viewed. It also is something I hope he is able to learn with maturity as time passes.
Just, again, whether he had a good point or not, thank you for listening to what he was saying before making judgements.

"equal" is a messy word we all have to pretend to believe in when speaking even though I don't think anyone actually wants the implications of it if we take the time to unpack the meaning rather then just using it as a slogan.

i’m watching your videos on a daily basis, because i’m very into western pop culture and was confused. i was and am in love with feminism but then i realised the idea right now is very triggering and wrongly used.
we are very conservative here and grow up with the understanding how important family is. most of the men still pays for the dates, bring flowers and are taught to give every single penny to their loved ones. honestly, i have never felt abused as a woman. because the idea of abuse is wrongly put in one gender!!! like, there are so many horrible people and it doesn’t accrue to people, that no race or gender actually depends on that behaviour.

Vulnerability is different from crying. Sure, crying is vulnerability, but communication is also vulnerability. Trust is vulnerability. Honesty is vulnerability.
This. The whole “crying” nothing is a buzzword that people throw out when self expression for men is the core. It’s about not judging us for the bare minimum
I hate how "vulnerable" has basically replaced other words like opening up or crying. When I see women say they want a vulnerable man, it creeps me out because by definition, vulnerable is not something you should desire in anyone or want then to feel around you. These women need to earn mens trust if they want men to be comfortable opening up or expressing certain emotions. Because as it is, a lot of men do feel vulnerable because they will be judged and mocked for expressing these things because society isn't doing anything to facilitate it. If anything the opposite is happening, I've seen enough t shirts and mugs with slogans like "male tears" and a smug women in frame with it to know women have very little empathy for mens issues.
Vulnerable is a feeling/state, it's not an action so I don't know why it keep being talked about as such.

Examples would be things like affirmative action, which used skin color as part of the decision to hire someone or accept them into a university, or offering scholarships to students of a particular race or gender and excluding anyone else. This is done under the assumption that it would make the outcomes of everyone the same or equal. But it’s just discrimination under a different title. It also teaches the class that received the extra opportunities to not take responsibility for themselves. “ oh you are 35 years old and haven’t done anything to improve yourself? It’s not your fault, whity’s ancestors enslaved Africans who may or may not be your ancestors hundreds of years ago, so it their fault you have no desire to get higher education or get a job other then selling drugs or joining a gang. You’re a victim of white supremacy. Equality of opportunity, however, gives everyone the same opportunities and teaches them the skills necessary to succeed. But it’s up to each individual to use those opportunities and skills to succeed.
Equality doesn’t take away resources from one group and give it to a different group.
But that is the trick, they have always been the same thing.... The Soviet union had gender equality.... I think we can treat women better then that.

What was the response justifying such discrimination, the overly emotional woman had been illegally assaulted by civilian men on the street who were not part of said divorce courts
So because "Man A" committed an illegal act against her she is perfectly fine with thousands of men being discriminated against because of her need for personal revenge against men who did nothing to her

I think the issue was that the guy who said it was also acting like a child. And he let a bunch of extra implications in by wording it so poorly. Like using the word equal before saying it...
I have noticed that women prefer when I tone done the aggression of how I talk. Meanwhile men get insulted as they start to feel like I am treating them like children. It's a crude way of saying it, but women do want to be treated like children in temperament. And there is nothing wrong with that, it's just a preference as they are more adverse to conflicts then men. This is just a comparison of manners, and women's preference actually makes men more civilized and suitable for interaction with children.
Safe spaces are different though and I think more in line with what your saying, they are for actually children. Anyone who admits they are a child can have a safe space. Anyone who can function without them gets respect regardless of which gender.
If Jubilee wants to make a particular side on a viewpoint look bad (usually always the more conservative opinion), they bring in people like Derrick or other looney bin types. They try to seem like a nonbiased media company because they don't actually speak themselves, but they still control things based on who they choose to bring in for these episodes.

Very much so. Though I think it's more on the liberal side versus conservative side. Jubilee easily orchestrates how they show their biases and views via cuts. They will typically show the clips/uncut portions of a person's opinion of the side they wish to push or what they believe and not show as much of those they disagree with. Take this video for (granted, this is a reaction of the video, so I'm sure Brett cut the video as well), they showed the incel Derrick guy a lot and how he bumbled a lot and less from the other two, etc.

Aggression is a male tool. It depends on how you use it. Thats what determines your masculinity.
People used to (and often still) do that with femininity, specifically with being emotional. Women are more emotional than men, which isn’t a bad thing. It can be a bad thing if a woman lets her emotions run her life and supersede her reasoning. For whatever reason, it’s seems impossible for either men or women to understand that the differences that are innate to our sexes do not make one or the other lesser. It’s almost as if we complement each other!

Some of these make sense, like in the latter, a woman may not have the strength to save herself in a dire situation whereas a man could, so the woman should be aided before the man. Another similar situation is with military drafts, which women aren’t subjected to despite being allowed to join the military of our own volition. Men are subject to the draft, even if they don’t want to be in the military. Those cases have to do with the biological disparity between men and women for the most part, thus they make sense; however, family and divorce courts especially are not this way. They give unfair advantages to women based on laws and practices that were implemented over half a century ago, when women were less likely to be financially independent. Exactly. Men and women are not created equal and they are not equal in the eyes of the law.
The law always favours a woman when a man and woman are involved and it's always more lenient on women who do wrong. Men are assumed guilty until proven innocent if a woman is involved instead of innocent until proven guilty as it should be. Men are forced into drafts in many countries while women are not. If a woman does something sexual to a man against his will, no one bats an eye. If a woman abuses a man in any way, no one bats an eye. Etc.

@Iamachad-qf6qj certain jobs are much more often done by females and others are much more often done by men remove either men or women from the equation and aside from the obvious population issue certain jobs just wouldn't get done. Men and women have different desires and we balance each other out.
My husband gets paid almost double per hour than I do and you know what...he deserves it! I physically can't do his job. He works his butt off doing concrete. He works outside all year, freezing cold, pouring rain, blistering heat. I can't push a wheel barrow full of concrete uphill in mud, he can...we are PHYSICALLY and EMOTIONALLY DIFFERENT! We celebrate those differences in an equal partnership.

I’ve always been told “toxic masculinity” is revolved around men teaching other men to hide emotions, etc. like how our society evolved to think men are “weak” if they cry. That was a toxic masculine trait that was normalized, think guys are weak because of feelings. That kind of stuff.
You are correct that is the definition and what many people mean. But it's not correct to say it was normalized, men inherently are this way and it's not toxic at all. Men and women process stress differently, and they develop different disorders from failing to manage stress (internalizing vs externalizing disorders).
Toxic masculinity is literally women seeing that men function differently and assuming their is something wrong with them. It comes from denying biological difference between men and women.
@@viperstriker4728 The best counter to any "toxic masculinity" argument is the Darwinian one. If acting like feminists want men to act was a successful mating strategy, we'd already be doing it because those that did would have outbred the ones that didn't generations ago.
It is usually the mother that first teaches boys to suck it in and don't fuss. It is usually a father, or other male person that explains to him why and when it is important to do so. It is an important skill for everyone, male and female, but it is more likely to come up in dangerous situations and jobs that are usually done by men. Example: Not freaking out and losing control while operating a car or heavy equipment when a wasp stings you...

The determination has thus far been that 70-80% of women find 10-15% of men “attractive”. Personally, my experience has always been that in person is better for everyone but that’s still a pretty awful statistic. And we wonder why young men are quitting the dating scene.
I would like to add that men as well as women should be more emotionally mature. I really hate the fact that women just are allowed to be very immature with their emotions and ppl let it slide like "typical woman".

Okay but that's exactly why people stand against the rampant gun control. Everyone has the right to defend themselves. That right is meaningless without the ability to do so. I'm a grown man and I would shoot someone to defend myself. Why would I expect less of someone significantly smaller and weaker than I am? Sure a 17-year-old boy could probably kick her ass. So, why would she give him the benefit of the doubt, and walk around unarmed?
Point being, there is no such thing as a fair fight on the street. Train, carry, and defend yourself to the best of your abilities, no matter who you are. Don't assume anyone who wants to hurt you is going to stop before you're dead.

I always think of it as Empathy is sympathy with Experience.
I always had it the opposite way around. Sympathy = Sym = Same. Like Similar, or Symbiotic. Both parties have a foot in this thing. Empathy on the other hand I always saw as sitting on the sidelines being like "I'm rooting for you"

I know Ben Shapiro has gone into detail about this, but, I challenge any feminist to give us one legal right a man has that a woman doesn't, because I can list a number of them that women have that men do not. In his exchanges, he was asking for legal and definitive rights, not speculative privileges. For example:
1. Women have the birth right to genital integrity. Any circumcised male had that right refused at birth.
2. Women have the birth right to vote without agreeing to die or be conscripted into war. Selective service is required for men to vote, as well as many other things like going to college, federal assistance for anything. That all by itself is a HUGE list.
3. Women have the right to choose parenthood. A man has no such rights. She wants to kill her unborn baby, the father cannot do anything about that. She wants to keep the baby and he doesn't, he cannot be absolved of his responsibilities. They will be enforced at the point of a gun.
4. Women have the right to be assumed (competent) caregivers for children. Any man who has ever faced down family court knows this to be 100% true. Men like me who managed to get custody of their children from their mothers did so against all odds and probabilities.
5. Women have the right to call unwanted, coerced sex rape. This includes when female teachers rape their students and end up pregnant from it, only to file a support order on the underage father....AND FUCKING GET IT!! >:(
6. Women have the right to lower jail sentences for the same crime. No matter the age, women never serve the same amount of time a man does for equal crimes. Some can even get away with them wholesale.
7. Women have the right to not be assumed sexual predators. This is court positioning, which has spilled over into societal expectations, not the other way around.
8. Women have the right to government departments that solely serve their interests. Even the Veterans Affairs offices treat their female clients differently than the male ones.
9. Women have the right to government-enforced gender quotas. Someone please contest this one.
10. Women have the right to exclusive tax benefits for being a business owner. Check out tax laws on that.
11. Women have the right to domestic violence shelters. Rest in Peace, Earl Silverman. It's a shame your death has been ignored by so many for so long for daring to do the unthinkable.
12. Women have the right to not be assumed the primary aggressor in a domestic dispute. Fuck the Duluth model!! >:(

I'd like to see how this supposed "wage gap" would look when we factor child support and alimony into the mix, because I'm not incredulous enough to believe child support is anything more than alimony for unmarried mothers, and more often than not, it doesn't go to the children for their upkeep. When I was young, I only had my mom. No dad. But she told me, and taught me in a very harsh manner to only cry when I was REALLY hurt. I was going to be expected as a man to hold things together when everything around me was falling apart. I am about 50, and I live in constant pain. I'm in enough pain that autonomically, I have tears forming in my eyes during the worst of it, but the act of crying doesn't actually happen. When you experience this degree of pain constantly, the threshold goes beyond the point where you cry over pain. But to experience the sort of pain that would cause me to cry... that requires someone dying. That requires a pet dying. That requires something to cause such an unfathomable sense of loss and grief, that the stoicism fades away. Someone explain to me what good anyone gets out of me breaking down, other than the satisfaction that I am seriously hurt. I NEVER espouse vulnerability as a virtue. Woman here. I'll give credit where it's due, no matter HOW rude the woman with the dreadlocks was, Zach and Kursat weren't rude back and didn't take the bait from her. They listened to what she had to say and let her finish, they didn't attack her, they didn't walk away, they didn't act rude back, and they didn't say anything unkind. 10 years in the automotive industry working in a shop and in those 10yrs I only seen two women working as techs . One quit after a month or two and the other one has been there for two years still grinding the cars out. There is a reason why that is is men and women are born different.

It's because the man use the word "equal" when he said it. Our culture is obsessed with "equal" when I think no one actually wanted to be treated "equally". It's such a low standard really. We treat others how we WANT to be treated, we don't treat them the way we ARE treated.
Best to explain the concept, get them to agree, then say the word. If they disagree, ask them what the word means. And by they, I don't mean women. I mean feminists, as no matter the gender feminists use the wrong definition for many words. The left in general redefines words like this to make the conversation a minefield. If you hit a mine, they tune out and stop listening. Most socialists will agree with capitalism if you describe it from the bottom without ever using the word capitalism. But if you dare use the word, they will disagress with everything you say.
These videos always put somebody like Derrick in a group that they don't agree with (ie. Anti-feminists, men's rights advocates, patriots) that is far to the extreme to try and boost their narrative showing that their opposition are "evil" or inherently bad. They do bring up good discussions, but more often than not, they try to paint a particular side as bad.

Nothing wrong with Derrick, and he really wasn't extreme enough. Feminism was a lie from the start. Equality isn't possible nor should women want equality, nor do their actions show that they really want it. Their actions prove they only want "equality" when it benefits them, like putting in quotas for women as board members, not for making women work in the nasty jobs. I can give more examples if you want.
It's not about _expressing_ emotions; it's about having your emotions validated by someone who understands and cares. I can express my emotions in isolation all day every day, but it's not really going to do me any good.
But it's also about having someone who cares enough to invalidate your emotions. Just because you feel something, doesn't mean it is true or good. It may hurt but the friend I have that are willing to call me out I value the most. And discipline (mental strength) is blocking the backlash at those people who are trying to help. Because the backlash is the natural reaction when getting called out on something. But just because the brain tells us to be offended, doesn't mean we have to listen. And that is what it means for a man to suppress his emotions.
Heres the thing about life experiences, if multiole people are having the same experiences then we have a societal issue.
Theres too many women coming forward to say that our 'No' isnt being respected. But its thrown under the rug as "not being a right" or "thats just your experience." NO its the experience of countless women thats being ignored

I can tell you what I expect as a not so good looking guy. I expect an extreme negative reaction. I don’t even look in their general direction unless I can’t avoid it. As a 65 year old male, I have problems with women claiming too much control over public spaces. For instance, one time I was in a bookstore in a mall, and the new female manager approached me. We had what I took to be a pleasant conversation, but then she broke off and started instigating for me to leave the bookstore. I thought this was ridiculous because I had done nothing wrong. I had bought books in that bookstore, and I was likely to buy books in there again. So I waited until I was ready to leave before I left. Then, the next time, I wasn't even in the bookstore. I was looking at these kittens on display in a pet store across from the bookstore. The manager went and got two security guards and had them check out her bookstore. Nothing came of the guards being brought in because I had done absolutely nothing wrong. I have gotten in other situations like this in public spaces.
