Because i started homeschooling at middle school, but i never took studying seriously so i would get very bad grades. I later dropped out of high school at 16, so i have zero middle school & high school knowledge. I want to go to college but no college will accept me with my grades, so I'm gonna start community college. But to do that, i would have to get my GED first. Then i can get accepted into Community college & later transfer to an actual college and hopefully earn my Bachelors degree.

I just want to tell you all it is possible ! At 24, I decided to stop partying and get myself together . I studied for two weeks, I passed all the practice exams and passed the GED the next week . I then went to a private college for 3 semesters , obtained my CNA and then transferred over to the University of Michigan . I obtained a Bachelors in CRJ and also my Masters in Social science from the university of Michigan , as well -11 months later . I moved to Florida in 2014 to begin my PHD at Kaiser university. So it can be done ! My 21 year old daughter is studying now to take hers so I let her watch your video . Thanks the info was great

My parents were never home. So I became addicted to opioids and k2 in middle school and quit after I dropped out at the start of my sophomore year. Now almost seven years later I want to go back to school so I can be a gunsmith. I passed the social studies and science portion, but I’m terrible with language arts and mathematics. I think the more difficult part is getting frustrated by the lack of knowledge I missed out on even from middle school. I’d consider myself fairly intelligent given my circumstances. However that looming feeling that I’m stupid hasn’t gone away and makes this challenging.
I’m really just leaving this comment for anyone in the future reading this. You’re not alone and it might seem like the odds are stacked against you; but you are your own worst enemy. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask someone close to you for help. You’ll get where you want to be if you just keep working towards your goals.

My partner convinced me recently that I am capable of getting my GED and going to college. I've been struggling with severe mental illness since middle school and dropped out of highschool in 10th grade because of it, and have been in a downward spiral trying to become happy. I'd fully convinced myself I'm not capable of going anywhere in life and that I would always be below the poverty line. I'm not sure why I'm typing this all out but maybe this is just my way of putting out into the world that I wouldn't be anywhere without my partner, and I think I'm capable of getting my GED, going to college and getting a good job that will make me happy and bring me above the poverty line. I'm only 18 which is still very young, and they see my potential which I am so thankful for, without them I might be dead 💕

How is everything now? I know you’re more than capable, and your partner sounds like a very good person to have in your life. I’m 26, and am recovering from severe OCD. I’m just now studying for my GED(which I’m going to take the test on March 20th and 21st), plan on college after obtaining my diploma for psychology, and learning to drive. It’s never too late. I plan on writing a book eventually about OCD, the hope for recovery, and the potential that psychedelics have over pharmaceuticals for treatment resistant mental illnesses. I wish you the best in your journey, and just like your partner, I know your potential even if you don’t.

While I always advocate self instruction, sometimes taking an ABX course to get that instruction/guidance to passing is extremely useful. Their is a difference from street smart and book smart. I think your mistake is thinking your smarter than someone else. I use to think similar till i learned their is so much more i have no idea about but it’s your willingness to learn more once you realize you don’t know everything. That’s the difference from them and you is.They think they learned enough but you learned their is never too much information to learn. I dropped out off High school but i don’t remember most of the stuff i was taught in middle school. Their is a difference when you want to learn something and someone forces you to learn something. Good luck and never under estimate your opponent.

I have multiple reasons for seeking a GED, I also plan on going to College. It's both for myself and for my mother (whom died when I was 16, the main reason I am no longer in school), and for anyone who looked up to me for inspiration that I met along the way. I know for a fact I can get my GED and I know for a fact I can earn college, it'll be difficult now but I know that for a fact. My mother died not wanting to burden anyone any further (she felt like a burden as a double amputee and diabetic with full kidney failure, along with PTSD and Bipolar, along with many other unfortunate things to happen to her). As such, how is it moral to let her death shackle me down from my potential? I aimed at becoming an FSO when I was 15-16, I am damn right going to give it a shot. If I succeed, I'll prove that it doesn't matter if you were homeless half your youth, in a single parent household, that there is never a time you should give up.

Getting your ged will be a helpful tool to get into college or a university, and continue or start making up for lost times and be happy when all your hard work towards your goals are completed in the right time, and the right place, may we pass this speedbump in life and stay tough in the worse times.

I tried so hard for years to stick with school, since I knew I was very smart, but I just didn't have the study skills necessary despite my high work ethic. I missed a whole year of school due to my mental health, and the alternative placement school I went to afterwards wasn't challenging me academically, and I still couldn't deal with the workload. So whoever is reading this please read the whole thing I graduated high school 7 years ago for a large portion of my young adult life I regretted not dropping out because I felt like my time in high school was a waste of time because I showed every day to 1st period and sleep at my desk throughout the day I pretty much did whatever I wanted and I did that for three years of high how I got away with doing all that was because in my freshman year of high school I was failing regular Ed so I was transferred to special Ed where they didn’t care wasn’t till my junior year I was being bullied and my best friend at the time convinced my dad to go to a Christian school for my senior year long story short I had to buckle down on studying because all the credits I earned in special Ed was elective credits so I had to repeat my senior year my first senior year was fine my 2nd senior was where towards the end I begun getting bullied because of my age because this was the 2nd grade I’ve repeated and after high school I didn’t pursue college anymore because of that I wished I had dropped out of school earlier and started working fast forward to February 2022 I’ve enrolled into college 27 years now and I love every second I can safely say it’s because of God who has set these obstacles in my life and every thing goes well in February 2023 I’ll have my barbers license from college

my reasoning for getting a ged is because i am currently a 15 year old sophomore, and my mental health is not good. Ive tried Brick & mortar school, online live classes, hybrid schedule of only going to school 2 days a week, and asynchronous classes. NOTHING has worked. I hate school so much because it tears me apart, and I find no joy in it whatsoever. I don't wanna just drop out, i want a diploma equivalent so i can actually get a job, and stuff like that. I wanna finish out this school year before I leave school to do the GED testing, because by then, i'll be 16, and legally able to do it :)
