- I have NEVER been on the set of a major TV show and when the folks from The Resident reached out I was incredibly excited to make this video happen. In partnership with Fox's medical show The Resident, I visited the set, interviewed Manish Dayal, and even tried my hand at auditioning with a pro actor.
You know that I've been watching a lot of medical dramas lately so going behind the scenes of a major show was very very cool. I got to review the set and see how they basically built a full hospital within a warehouse! The scale of what they are able to accomplish for these shows is truly impressive.

I mean, technically it is a basic part of any good assessment. Vitals, breath sounds, chief complaint, targeted assessment. Treat the whole patient. Leg bone connected to the... thigh bone. Thigh bone connected to the... hip bone.

In remote areas in country where I'm from, doctors use the stet to give the patients secured feeling that they've been treated. It makes them feel better.
When my stomach hurts, the doctors lay me down and do this little push thing that tickles and that belongs in the show

I started watching the resident because of this video and I have never loved a medical drama more! Honestly one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I can’t stop binge watching it. It’s also so fascinating to rewatch this after seeing the show. It’s all so familiar now!

They do film in some real hospitals my aunt is a higher up at a hospital and greys filmed there once
actually scrubs was filmed in a real hospital that was no longer in use. and they had to do a lot of construction so they could use it but they did in fact use a real hospital for it.

The actor is such a likeable person, smart and kind
I've never watched the full length of one of your videos Dr. Mike. (seen snippets of videos. (reaction videos etc.) on Facebook) However, this was really neat to see. You toured an actual doctor drama that's airing on TV. I really liked that one of the actors showed how they had there set and you telling them wether it was accurate or not. It's cool to hear feedback from an actual doctor to know that these shows are actually depicting similar situations to what would go down in an ER, OR etc.
