Great video. I'm in the market for a new fairing for my 2020 FXLRS and the AdvanBlack ST fairing appeals to me for many reasons. One reason being the ability to color match at the time of purchase. It's always been a struggle finding a local paint shop that can and is willing to take on smaller jobs. Another reason why the AdvanBlack ST fairing appeals to me, which is probably the biggest 'pro', is the ease of install. AdvanBlack released a YT video detailing the prep and assembly of their ST fairing on a 2020 FXLRS, it required minimal tools or extra parts. Although, as you mentioned, if you run and engine guard or crash bars you'll need to purchase the HD fairing support bracket. I run the bung king front crash bars, so I believe I'll need to purchase the HD fairing support bracket. Thanks again for the video. It would be great if you could do another video and provide feedback after you put some serious hard miles on it. How does it hold up under speed, cross winds, etc.

Thanks. I had the rdw fxrt fairing on my 2017 fxdls it was good and offered a lot of wind protection. But it was very expensive to do and it was heavy. The St fairing is much cheaper, lighter, easier to install and offers just as much wind protection. I didn't need to relocate my turn signal because I'm running the 10" kraus raisers which gave me plenty of clearance. If you get this fairing you won't be disappointed.
@@jbluet thanks for the tip man. I’m also running the kraus 10in risers so that definitely puts my mind at easy about not having to relocate my signals. I probably will end up getting this!
Awesome to see this set up and see it all together. I recently decided to swap out the road warrior for this and sizing up to these hard bags to replace my Thrashin Essential bags on my 2020 Low Rider S, and change to forward controls as well. And, maybe add the Plex Audio down the road, so very cool to see it all fitting.

@@jbluet Could you tell me what bracket and bags those are? I've seen two different style of mounts for them, one appears to have a bend that angles upward that lifts the bags higher to clear the stock exhaust, and then I've seen this style that looks like it keeps the bags a bit lower and in a better position. Thanks!
@@marchingon5401 advantblack brackets and nasty hog saddlebags. I believe nasty hogs make the same bracelet now too.
What saddlebags are you using? And never heard of Plex Audio. I dig loud music and am love that you said they are louder than the Fosgate. And dig the added lighting. I was about to buy a LRST but now thinking I am better off with the LRS and adding fairing & saddlebags. Bike looks great.👍

@@jbluet one tip that could save some time and $… be on the lookout for the inner primary “tower gasket” it’s about an inch in diameter and goes where the mid shifter shaft was before going to forward controls. Mine shifted on me and leaked out the plastic cap steadily. Had to open it up and replace fluids and gaskets because of that $2 part. I seen it’s common and some people have made a dowel to put in place so it can’t move and have the problem. Just a thought. I wish I would have known about it.
Thanks for the tip. But you are absolutely right. I already had to change that gasket. Had to take the outter primarily off to put it on🤦♂️

Not at all. You just need to get the ST plex bracket and it all fits perfectly.

What bags are those? I have an ST and really like the look of those bags.
Nasty hogs chopped bags and I'm using the advantblack softail saddlebag brackets.
Im caught in between buying the S model and doing the changes myself to make it a ST. Because I dont like the stock clamshell bags and i dont like the guage and will be installing risers. So the only thing that makes it different that wouldnt be changed is the fairing. And the fairing cost $1500. Unless there are more things different
The S doesn't come with bags.
I am in same boat and read some people say that the ST handles slightly better. Not sure why but heard that comment more than once.

Hey, question. I’m getting a nasty rattle coming from the fairing at about 3k RPM. It comes and goes. Have you had any experience with this?
No I haven't had any rattling issues. You might want check and see if you lost a bolt witin the fairing.
Guessing that those are NastyHogs Rebel Chopped bags and Advanblack softail mounting brackets. Did you have to mod the brackets any with your exhaust or did they bolt right in with no issues?
I had to make a braket for my hpi exhaust in order to cleaer the braket. Check my first video. But depending on what exhaust you're running you may not need to make a braket.
Purchased this exact Advanblack ST fairing for my FXLRS. Everything was great until I put the Klockwerks 6 inch flare on it. Since I installed that I’m getting a kind of strange whistling/wind sound coming from the fairing area between speeds of roughly 20-40 mph. The stock Advanblack one didn’t seem to do that at all. Only happened immediately after installing this. Did you have this issue or any others switching to this windshield?
No I haven't had any issues at all.
I have the headlight bracket as well and I’m not sure what holes to drill. I watched the video and they had lined up the small holes with the fairing in the video but on the advan black fairing, they only have the 3 big holes
Try separating the moonsmc brackets and then turn over the bottom bracket to see if the holes line up on the fairing.

Beautiful bikes. Quick question, why turn low rider s into touring bike if u already got a road glide? I would want different ride style bikes if owning multiple. Be great to hear your experience having both setup as touring, maybe there is enough difference within these 2 setups.
Great question. I'm actually going to make a video comparing the two. The quick answer is I used them both equally to commute to work, the gym and other places. The fxlrs is a lot lighter and mor nibble for the daily commute and the RGS is a little more comfortable for my wife and I on longer rides and has a little more storage but not much. There is very little difference orher than that. And I just like the style 🤷♂️ lol! Hope that answers your question bud. Ride safe!
Looking forward to the video. Trying to get as much information as I can. These bikes ain’t cheap! I have 1290 super duke R Evo but would like an additional cruiser / tourer for some long day trips. ST seems like the right fit but love the style of the road glide…. Road glide just seems like it be second thought to ride if not doing series miles (300+). Thanks Joe.

5.11” / 200 lbs
I'd say for smaller guys go with the st for sure. But your a bigger guy so you could do both. Just depends on your ride style and the type of riding you do.

Idk. I never put the standard one on. I new it would be to small me. The klockwerks 10" is perfect for me.

Top of the light to the top of the windshield is about 20"

I used advanblack lids. They have better internals in the lids and I switched to harley locks so they are keyed the same as my roadglide special.

I have the same headlight, and i just ordered the fairing, what exactly did you do for the headlight to mount to the fairing
Moonsmc sells the bracket for it. It comes with a scan that has an install video. Very easy to follow. Easy install

How tall is your bar set up that the blinkers are working with the faring on?
About 13 inches and the blinkers work fine.

Were u able to use the same moons headlight bracket that was used with the Memphis shades fairing with this advanblack st fairing? Or did you have to order the ST headlight kit from moons?
You will need to buy the moons mc st headlight braket.
Do you have the Harley part number of the windshield mounting bolts?
No I don't. Just ask the parts department for them. They will know what they are. Also you will need to use the bolts advantblack sents you. I believe the threads are different from the harley bolts. But don't worry the advantblack bolts fit the rubber grommets. Plus the harley bolts are like $2.99 a bolt. Hope this helps.
Ok so you didn’t buy the lower support bracket ? Since you left the turn signals stock and because you have the mustache crash bar . Right ?
I did buy the st support brakets. You need them for the mustache crash bar.
I have a 2020 Lowrider S and have been thinking about adding the same fairing and saddlebags. How tall are the bars and risers that you went with? I'm 5'7" w/a 29" inseam and I'm thinking that I will need to change my bars to clear the fairing.
My bars stand at about 13" inches between the risers and the bars together.

Went to dealer get those rubber grommets for windshield the only ones they see or have are $1.97 each. ???
What! That may be the screw only. I'll see if I can find the part number. I would call another dealer. They are pretty common. Thy cost $10.99 each.
@@jbluet he had the computer screen pulled up with the diagram of the grommets , maybe he was looking at wrong part. He kept calling them clips.
@@nickthinkpainting1978 yeah he's looking at the wrong part. They sell some aftermarket ones on ebay. But don't get those. They don't have the metal piece in the middle. I would just call another dealer. You can call Huntington Beach Harley davidson or laidlaws Harley davidson in california and ask them for the part number. I know they have them.

Bars are about 13" total. It took about 3 weeks.

@@nilshdmc5717 I'm not sure what handle bar set up you are using. But I just ran the clutch cable right in front of the right speaker next to my raiser. I didn't have any issues.
