    In the final shot, it looked like your nacelle was back on the bike. On the AB install video he had some cover covering the rats nest of wires and cables. Your install looks super clean, but could swear I saw the nacelle and spear under the fairing.

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  3 місяці тому

      YES! You are the first person who noticed that other than the folks at AB. It requires a little fab work. There’s a line on the nacelle that makes for a perfect cut line. I cut it along the side and bottom. It will be re-powder coated at some point. This allows for a reinstall and covers the wires and top of the fork legs.

      I emailed advanblack to explain why they don't show their trim piece installed in their video. of course, they haven't answered me. I'd be interested in one of these but the rats nest is why I haven't pulled the trigger. so far there are no good solutions. i'm interested in seeing more of how that was done here. klock werks is re-introducing the wedge fairing and I sent them an email to see if THEY will be offering a solution to covering the unsightly rats nest with their application.

    I see you did the Nacelle chop rather than use the "Shelf" that comes with the kit, I had the same idea haha. Looks so much cleaner than the shelf, IMO. Have any photos of how much you had to cut away?

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  2 місяці тому +1

      I posted a couple of pics on IG. I cut away more than I had too. I used the line on the bottom of the nacelle and then on the side. However if I did it again I’d leave a little more on the side to just clear the mounting bracket. I’m also going to have it sand blasted and powdered again so it’s fresh.

      @@kidmoto22 Sounds good! I snagged a plastic TCMT nacelle off of Amazon to be sacrificial, should be pretty easy to chop up. I might try to snag some videos of it as I do it, we see. AB still has to ship me the fairing yet, hopefully soon! Thanks for the info!

    That looks awesome!! That faring looks 100% better then that crap Harley puts on their bikes. I never liked faring's until I saw this one. Its nice and clean and wraps around the front of the bike real nice like a glove. Its a smaller faring which doesn't take away from the sleekness of the bikes frame. Looks real sporty and minus all the electrical mambo jambo which makes no sense when you're riding and one less electrical thing thats going to brake down on it which saves u lots of $$$$.. If u want electronics just by the helmet that has all that in it. Nice bike!! I have a 2018 RK special same as yours except mine is industrial grey which like almost identical to that color on your bike. Hey how is your oil pump running did u ever upgrade it? Some are saying the oil pumps on the 17-19's are malfunctioning on some bikes but Harley says that its only happened on a few bikes because people are over revving their bikes and riding at high rpms and thats what causing it. What are your thoughts on this whole oil pump issue?? Let me know?? Thanks

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  3 місяці тому +1

      Thank man appreciate it.
      Oil pump…so my bike was running great and not any oil issues until about 15k. I started seeing misting of oil from my air cleaner. I was planning a stage two upgrade and so I installed the S&S 475 cam chest. This replaces all the internal parts of the cam chest. The S&S oil pump is far superior with three chambers to sump the oil and it moves it so much better. This resolved the oil sumping issue and misting from the air cleaner. Plus the cam upgrade and the bike sounds and feels amazing. 10/10 would recommend a cam chest upgrade.

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  3 місяці тому +1

      @@roadking681 The best deal is in the winter after Thanksgiving they run a deal called the winter power package and it’s all you need to replace the entire cam chest for about $1500. There’s a couple of speciality tools that you would need and I think the J&P cam install video would tell you. You need the cam bearing tool and a run out tool and both are available thru Jim’s. My riding group has a guy that bought the tools and we’ve used them for three CAM installs so far.

    That's going to work with the necelle still on the bike?

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  3 місяці тому

      So to my knowledge I’m one of the first to do the install this way. If you have a little skill and are willing to do some fab work you got this.
      I cut the side and bottom of the nacelle off so that I could still install it back on the bike. This allowed for the front end to turn but still have a finished look to cover the mess of wires.
      I sprayed the edges for now but will have it sand blasted and re-powder coated at some point this season.
      I’ve been in contact with AB as they had not seen this and that’s why they didn’t answer you back. I will be posting videos on YT and IG in the future about it.

      to clarify. in AB's own Road King video, they reference THEIR OWN trim piece but never show it installed. there is no mention of it on their site. I asked them for pictures or an updated video on THEIR trim piece. crickets.

    • @kidmoto22
      @kidmoto22  3 місяці тому

      @@0toeknee0 There is a trip piece and it’s a flat machined piece that goes over the top of the nacelle area. It’s not a bad piece this is just a more finished look for the forks and triple tree cover and to hide the wires a bit better
