    I was curious if the sound bar would fit in this fairing so this is pretty cool. That's a pretty large undertaking for a fairing install!

    • @DrHarley

      It was fun, and for the first one, I learned a lot. It's definitely perfect fit and finish. And yes. The sound bar fits perfectly as well.

    Nice job on the video. Did you install an on/off switch when wiring the sound system to the battery? Are there only two wires that come off the sound system? Any chance you could do a short video on how you wired it up? No gaps between the sound system and the inner fairing?

    • @DrHarley
      @DrHarley  5 місяців тому +3

      I did not install a switch. There are small gaps on either side of the sound system. Per the ST wiring diagram, that yellow/Red wire is constant 12V power and when the bike is turned on, the relay is activated and allows the power to power up the system.. I ran a wire in the back bone to the fused power wire that was supplied by HD.

    • @Lashu375
      @Lashu375 5 місяців тому +3

      Thank you for the info, so the fused power wire comes with the system and you just hooked it up to the positive terminal on the battery, ran a single wire from the fused power wire through the backbone and connected it to the yellow/red wire coming out of the system? Thanks again

      @Lashu375 exactly 100% if you're going to be in Daytona, I will be there with that bike.

    Im trying to get the RF soundbar to snap into the inner fairing with the 4 gold clips. Any suggestions? I tried all day and got frustrated! I noticed in the video you had a bit of a struggle as well..?

      Use the smaller clips that came with the audio system.

      @@DrHarleyThe black clips worked perfectly! Thank you! Another quick question.. I suppose the harness that has the yellow/red wire is Hot at all times and just needs a fused connection to the B+. Since this isn’t a ST model with the specific connector I’m suppose to take apart and the circuit to it I just ran my own wire under the tank to the B+. I assume its B+ as well because of the gauge size. I noticed the stereo grabs switch + and ground from the headlamp circuit.

    • @DrHarley
      @DrHarley  5 місяців тому

      @familyfirstmotorsports9974 you are correct. That yellow red wire is constant power from the positive side of the battery. Use the fused link that came.with the sound system.

    How did the sound bar work in the app with it not being in an st. Was there anything where you had to enter a vin?

    • @DrHarley
      @DrHarley  4 місяці тому

      It worked perfectly. No VIN enter. The only thing was the yellow / red wire that went to the battery positive side with a fuse.

    What’s the trick to getting the speaker to get clipped in and getting it to stay clipped in?

    • @DrHarley
      @DrHarley  2 місяці тому

      Are you talking about the wire? If so. Pintch with pliers to make a tight connection.

    • @slime5430
      @slime5430 2 місяці тому +1

      @@DrHarley no, the 4 spring clips that are on the fairing, for whatever reason the speaker will not stay clipped into the fairing with all 4 clips. I tried the Harley supplied clips and they literally fly off when I try to get all 4 attached

    • @DrHarley
      @DrHarley  2 місяці тому

      @slime5430, are you using the ones that came.wirh the sound system? If not, then use those. They are smaller, and those will just snap in.

    • @slime5430
      @slime5430 2 місяці тому +1

      @@DrHarley I’ve tried both, those will snap in but some will shoot off literally

    • @DrHarley
      @DrHarley  2 місяці тому

      @slime5430 use the smaller ones. They are a pain except the center two. Take your time and use constant pressure. They will snap in. Eventually.

    Nice video! As for the company that makes this fairing, I would never run their products. Too many guy's that I know that have ran their bags and tour packs and they cracked within a year. Some shit is built for the road and some shit is built for the trailer. Company is in Pomona, CA but I'd guess everything from that company is made in china.
