My favorite was the sticker you tore up that is so real. For suggestions usually the basement was for storage and broken pieces that were waiting to be fixed but never did. You know like that old chair, plant pots, trays, mason jars, and you have to have an old cushioned ruined chair for sitting down there. lol A wall for shelving with lots of dust. That is always what I seen in my Grandpa's basement but he swore he worked down there with all the spiders. lol Have a great day
Great job. Everything looks very realistic. I’d add paint cans, spray pant cans, empty flower pots, tricycle, drop cloth, shelves, cardboard boxes , broom and bucket and some spiderwebs!
Great ideas! The more items you guys think of, the more I realize how messy my own basement is 😆 I have a pile of flower pots in a corner (with remnants of year old dirt in them). I like the idea of a tricycle. I'll have to be on the lookout for one.
@@queencityminis noticed your post to take a look at your "steampunk" vid. Need to finish watching. Got interrupted. It will be something I will enjoy I'm sure. A favorite video game of mine is Bioshock. Steampunk setting. Also I'm transplant from U.S. to Germany and I have seen that they have a steampunk amusement park that looks amazing. In between, a lot of your vids are popping up in my feed. Hitting them when I can. Stealing all your trade secrets. "Don't sue me" 😎
You do such a great job making things look aged and all rusty, the wheelbarrow looks just like my hubbys one! I thought the ladder turned out perfectly!
These are all great 😍👏 I came for the tools but the wheelbarrow caught me.. I've had a bright shiny copper colored one in my dirty rock/fairy garden looking awkward forever. Thanks 👍
I was initially planning to do leather but I don't have any that's thin enough so it would be out of scale. The tape works just fine. In the future, I'll do 2 or 3 layers of tape so it's more substantial.
@@queencityminis l think the 1 layer of tape with the paint was PERFECT! I've used tape for so many THINGS but tape faux leather handles is perfect scale and thickness! Great job!
Thank you! Ara of Bentley House Minis just made that 3 equal parts paste (paint, glue, sand) and used it to paint the walls in her Beetlejuice project. That got me thinking. I liked the look of the rust and then added the pastels and loved it.
Excellent tutorial! I can't wait to make my shiny tools dull! You are so good with mixing and blending paint! The tool box transformation was my favorite! Thank you!
The tools are my favorite but everything looks great and realistic. Spiderwebs are needed for a basement. Maybe old appliances and broken furniture too. I used to live in a house where the basement always flooded. It had a broken furnace as well. There’s so many possibilities. Thanks for the video!
Such excellent ideas! Spiderwebs are a fantastic idea. I have a broken washing machine in my basement as we speak so I'll have to do that for sure. We have an old oil tank that's still there after converting to gas. My basements have all had dirt or concrete floors. Maybe I'll do concrete with some dirt in the back corner and make it dingier and creepier over there 😆 I like the idea of adding some puddles and moisture to the floor. That would be very interesting. Thanks for the ideas!
The wheelbarrow transformation is my favorite. Will we get to see your display when complete? That'd be cool! Really like your tips for distressing/aging objects.
Great work! How about work bench or power tools maybe one of those boards with the holes in it to hang tools on over the work bench. I was also thinking maybe a weight lifting bench with bar and weights some dumb bells or even a hanging punching bag with some boxing gloves. I think that would be awesome for your basement build.
So many great idea! I'll definitely have a work bench and a leg board for tools. I've already collected some great items for the basement including a metal shelf. My dad was a boxer so I love the idea of a punching bag. I could probably use some buttons to make weights. Great ideas! Thank you
You are definitely a good aging artisan 😊 I love the red circle for a mini painting pot ! And thank you for the tip for the tools mod podge and water down brown ? 👏🏻
👍You came up with some awesome techniques! I loved everything..the stickers nice realistic detail! And everyone had perfect ideas for a basement, Thanx for Sharing❤ pssst.what's the secret ingredients😉
Thank you :) I've definitely gotten great ideas for the basement diorama. It will look awesome! The secret ingredient is...the chalk pastel! It really makes it look like rust.
Our washer and dryer are in our basement sitting on top of pallets, along with bf's vise/tool drawers.. random boxes of stuff under the creepy stairs behind the furnace.. the insulation ceilings and rock foundation walls tho😅🤷
That's a great idea! Little Gretchen's Workshop just posted a tutorial on making paintbrushes, too. I didn't even think of paint, which is nuts since my basement has tons of paint 😆 Thank you!
@@recoveringsoul755 Absolutely! I'm so glad I asked. These are excellent ideas. Many heads are better than one. I probably need a utility sink, too. We're gonna need a bigger basement.
The ladder 🪜 Hands down, my favorite 🤩
Thank you! I liked aging the tools.

I love all that. I can see it clearly in my mind. I have so many projects planned.
The aged stickers are such a nice touch
Thank you :)
Well done on the tools. Now you need a work bench with a vice. A set of shelves with cans of paint and a full, garbage can.
All great ideas 💡 thank you
Great tips! I like the ring of red paint on the ladder.
Me, too! Thank you

The wheelbarrow is so realistic, and the rust that goes with it 🤌🏽❤
Thank you! Someday I may build a basement for these. My project ideas are piling up 😆
Can I say I LOVE THEM ALL??? But my absolute FAVE is the tools!!! 🧰 🛠️ 😊
Thank you! I'd love to make a basement diorama and use these items in it.
All my favorites.
Thank you 😊

just awesome work; never thought about mod podge + pigment, very interesting..
Thank you 😊

😊
Also in the basement and old beat-up trash can with all kinds of scraps in it also on the workbench dirty oil y rags
Great ideas! Oily rags can spontaneously catch fire, but people do leave them piled up.
They all look so much more real when you’ve aged them…can’t wait to see the basement.
Thank you!
Shelves with paint cans
So true! Thank you
Did you end up .making the basement diorama?
Not yet. I have an entire list of projects in mind.
You should add a can of red paint
That's a great idea! Little Gretchen's Workshop just posted a tutorial on making paintbrushes, too. I didn't even think of paint, which is nuts since my basement has tons of paint 😆 Thank you!
Then you'll need paint rollers and trays, maybe a tarp

bulbs in crates and a hose stored in there for the winter?
Great ideas! Thank you
Did you ever do the basement?
Not yet! I have so many project ideas. I'm working my way through a list
Well I'm excited to see what you do next...hurry...lol
Clearly, someones father didn't teach him to clean up his tools before putting them away. 😆
This is how all my tools look 😆
