Anime logic makes no sense. Darkrais game stats are not much higher than a lot of Pokémon. I don’t get how Tobais almost entirely swept sinnoh with just darkrai.

there should be a unique season for ash called the trials of the rematch. it will be about the trainers that beat ash in leagues come together to form their trials for Ash. and when Ash beats the trial, he must beat the trainer himself using the teams he used. EX: Pikachu, squirtle and charizard against richtie's butterfree, charmander and pikachu. starting from richtie and finishing with Alain. and it will give Ash the big redemption he needs.
Now Tobias was by far the most powerful. Who knew he had 2 legendries. He only ever used Darkrai to defeat all 8 gym leaders and all the pokemon they used. He also only used Darkrai to defeat everyone in the league! in truth, Ash may have loss to him in the semi finals, but really Ash battle is the true finals. He was the only one to defeat Darkrai. After all, Tobias won the finals with only Darkrai as well. very curtain that means Ash was stronger than who ever Tobias faced in the finals. Pikachu tied with Latios, a legendary which means Pikachu is equal in power to that of a legendary pokemon. Septile earned its spot in Ash's top 6 pokemon in that battle.

The one trash thing about Kalos is the only reason Alain won the League was because he had healing items. Ash DESERVED to win. Quite literally, this is the “edgiest” series of the anime. If Ash was intelligent enough, he could’ve won EVERY Pokémon League because of healing items.
For gary, we only see 17 of his pokemon in the episodes. Just from Kanto alone, Professor Oak said Gary had 45 pokemon. Ash had seen many more different pokemon than Gary, but Gary has capture many more pokemon than Ash. Still 17 is all we see Gary use. I wonder what else He would of had.
