Josh finding a clever way to write off a visit to Disneyland as a business trip, well played Uncle Joshua

For anyone wanting to try Disneyland churro's at home, they use Tio Pepe brand which you can find in some super markets. They specifically use the the giant size ones.
Fun fact, Tio Pepe is a type of sherry as well
@@BlobsterBuddy Maybe you're a type of Sherry huh?
The whole idea is to use whole foods when you make things homemade. No preservatives etc. Organic ingredients.
You can also buy them online!
@@pamelaremme38 I think you are misunderstanding the point of my post. If someone wants to do a but better taste test at home, they can grab the specific churro brand that Disney uses in their parks. It's also good info for those who want to try a Disneyland churro, but can't justify the expense to go to Disneyland for said churro If they want to just make homemade churros, they can do the recipe in the video.

The Disneyland churros are the same frozen ones we'd serve at cold stone back when I worked there. I recognized the box when they were being delivered one day at the park. Cracks me up how people think they're so special.
The hidden dungeons underneath Disneyland are of a satanic nature where nefarious activities occur.
frozen churros are a thing ?!

Jeez, I can't even leave a comment about churros without the conspiracy nutters coming out.
Churros are VERY popular in Brazil and instead of dipping them in sauce they're usually fried and then filled with doce de leite, chocolate or banana filling.
That sounds heavenly

I would love to see your take on Sausage Rolls! I had them at a Irish Pub and they were served with what seemed to be a thick stout beef gravy.
Try them in the UK. We do them much better
I greatly prefer the Italian style sausage roll, with roasted peppers and sautéed onions.
I think you mean. (Pigs in a blanket)
@@thatoneguy396 they are a different thing. Pigs in blanket is a sausage wrapped in bacon (typically small/chipotle sausages in my experience)
That’s bizarre. In Ireland we would never serve them with beef gravy, it’s ketchup, brown sauce or nothing lol
As soon as you discussed making a chocolate sauce, my first thought was "no you need to do dulce de leche!" Was not disappointed.
Exactly!! Arequipe! And I don't know why they don't put the sauce inside. That would be perfection.

The chocolate dip is more Spanish than Mexican. I’m from Mexico City and The best churros I have ever eaten were at Madrid.
Can’t say I agree. Although the ones made here in Madrid have great texture and shape, that fact that they are not coated with cinnamon or sugar means they’re lacking a bit in taste.
Mexican and Spanish churros are also made very differently. In Spain it's just flour and water. A bit of olive oil and salt. Done. Delicious.
@@chavezpoker in Spain they are coated in sugar.
@@chavezpoker bc then you can choose where to dip them. I like to dio them in hot chocolate first then some sugar so it sticks to it. Other people just prefer the chocolate without the sugar
This is amazing. You posted this video only a few days after I got back from Walt Disney World in Florida and I was dumb enough to not get a churro while I was there.
Thanks Papa. I needed this.
In Brazil, churros with dulce de leche filling are the norm for us. but our dulce de leche is usually made from boiled condensed milk, which is delicious. the churros machine already makes the churros with the hole in the middle even before frying... and we have the stuffing machine too, with a big straw. so all the churros will be stuffed completely… it’s heaven 😭😊😍
Here in Argentina we fill them with just dulce de leche and it's amazing. That creme though gave me life.
Keep up the excelent work 👏👏
Dulce de leche is the best caramel sauce in the world.

Watched this with a Spaniard and it was absolutely hilarious to see his eye twitch at these and Disney land version both called churros.
Don’t get me wrong this recipe is great, would be awesome to see Joshua make Madrid proper ones :)
I was really hoping you’d fill them and I’m glad you did, because the best churros I’ve ever had so far was in Portugal from a tiny truck in the centre of Lisbon. They were extremely thick and filled with your choice of salted caramel, kiwi, and various other fillings. Those Disney ones look disappointing to be honest, that’s the last place I’d ever go to get good churros. I understand it’s a nostalgia thing for Josh as he’s mentioned in the video.
Indeed!! I've never been to Disney, but is weird they are not filled.
The original recipe comes from Spain and they are not filled at all, just dip them inside a thick hot chocolate like 500 years ago...and that's all!. Delicioso y simple!

Hey Joshua,
I got your book for Christmas and I’m so happy to have it now. The receipts are deliciouse.
Love papa
Ok, but disneyland "churros" are not churros, they are too thick, they are "porras". Churros are thinner and crispier.
Traditionally, churros (and porras) only have three ingredients: water and flour in equal ammounts and salt.
To make them:
1.put the watter to boil and add a bit of salt to it.
2.pour the boiling watter on the flour(make sure it all fits into the pot, because ouch, boiling wattet), and beat it with a wooden spoon untill the dough is done.
3.let it cool a bit and put it in the bag thingy, as our dude joshua did. For churros use a smaller hole. For porras the one he uses is just right.
4.For porras you squeeze the dough into a spiral in the boiling oil and fry.
For churros you can do the same or cut it with oiled scissors in sticks or into the more traditional laces (kind of teardrop shape).
5.once fried, enjoy. You can also put sugar on them if you want.
They are usually served with hor cocoa or cofee.
Merry Christmas Joshua!
