    I’ve always found it weird how consoles are perfectly smooth with 60fps but with a pc it looks like it’s dying 😂

    Well for me when I play online. I find there to be to many Rammers and guys just trying to wreck other people. But the lobby’s that I did get in that had good clean sim racing was just 🔥 ! I mean it was fantastic! However I do get the 60 fps thing though, however I notice the lag spikes more than the frames. Good video glad to see your enjoying it

    Might sound weird but is it maybe a balance thing? So that PC players with powerful rigs wouldn’t have an advantage over the console players or people with slightly less powerful PC’s? Just thinking if they are potentially looking to get into esports, maybe they want it to be perfectly balanced across the 2 platforms? Just a guess, could be completely wrong! 😆

      @Storm_RX, you've nailed it. EA has indeed voiced their intent to cap the game at 60 fps, with the goal being to level the playing field for all players. The eSport perspective certainly adds weight to this decision, as the aim would be to prevent PC gamers with high-end rigs from having an edge over console players or those on modest PCs.
      However, this decision brings to light several issues:
      1. A significant portion of the PC community, myself included, has become accustomed to (and even expects) frame rates of 120fps or more. It's not just a visual aspect; it drastically affects gameplay responsiveness and overall experience.
      2. Games for consoles are typically tailored to the specific hardware, guaranteeing consistent performance. However, PCs, with their myriad configurations, can sometimes receive games that aren't as optimized. Introducing a cap can further highlight and amplify any existing optimization challenges.
      3. While the idea of competitive fairness is commendable, there's a fine line to tread. PC players, many of whom have invested heavily in their setups, should be allowed to harness their rig's full potential.
      In essence, while I get the logic behind the 60fps cap, I think it's pivotal for game developers to factor in the diverse needs and aspirations of the entire gaming community.

      @@ProjectSimRacing Ah that’s really interesting, was actually an okay guess then! 🤣 I just thought it was weird because if it was a console / PC port issue then surely the single player would’ve been locked at 60fps too. As you say in some ways you can see where they’re coming from, but it is a real shame for PC players who were looking forward to a smoother online experience!

    Is it possible to get lag only because the framerate cap is at 60fps? I mean I play other sims at 60fps and its not laggy at all!

      @bohemis09, you raise a good question. The lag could indeed be affected by multiple factors, not just the FPS cap. I usually run games at 120 FPS, so the drop to 60 FPS in Forza Motorsport's multiplayer is noticeable for me. It might also be related to netcode or other technical aspects. Thanks for commenting!✌️

      It could be poor frame pacing. Not all 60fps framerates are equal. I recommend watching Gamers Nexus to learn a bit about it. A game could feel better with good frame pacing in 30fps than a game in 60fps with frame pacing all over the place

    The rammers really suck. I was rolled over in the braking zone at Daytona, and it was the touring cars. Some guys just comes blowing through. The pack is doing like 80. He just crushes me. Then just watching about 10 racers just wrecking everyone at Watkins Glenn. Very frustrating.

    I gave up after a few attempts at joining multiplayer, getting rammed constantly and them not getting any penalty at all while im thrown right to the back. Literally not one time have i seen anyone get a penalty. I got angry and full rammed a guy that rammed me on purpose and i got no penalty 😂 what a joke

    small tip: if you set refreshrate to 100hz you will increase lock fps to 100 in multi ;)

      ​@@ProjectSimRacing This is my guess how fps cap mechanism works so its calculated based on the refresh rate divided by 2 or 4 so as to get more or equal to 60fps. I think that such a mechanism was written in order to decrease stuttering as much as possible. More than 100 fps will not be obtained so you can set 100hz or 200hz to achevie 100fps if your lcd can do that ofc.
      Some scenario:
      60hz = 60fps,
      120hz = 60fps,
      144hz = 72fps,
      165hz = 82fps
      240hz = 60fps
      270hz - 67fps

    My image (menu and race) is heavily stretched to fit whole screen. When race start it stay stretched not like on your screen that it change aspect ratio. What settings did you use? I set resolution in game to resolution of monitor but that doesn't work. What I doing wrong? Did I miss some settings?

      I'm using Nvidia Surround with a resolution of 7680x1440. I run the game at the same resolution. My side screens do get stretched as well, but due to their size, it's only noticeable when I turn my head quite far to either side.

      @@ProjectSimRacing thanks for the fast answer but my whole image get stretched on my 32:9 monitor it's like 16:9 image stretched to fit the ultra wide screen. But I saw videos where the game runs on Samsung g9 32:9 without stretching. I don't know what settings are wrong that it won't work on my setup

      @MIMCKMedia, ah, I see you're using a single ultra-wide screen. 👍😊 My setup is different as I use three 55-inch OLED TVs. So, my settings, including Nvidia Surround, wouldn't apply to your setup. It sounds like you might need specific settings for a 32:9 monitor. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with those, but checking forums or specific monitor settings for the game might help you resolve the stretching issue.

    60fps is bad. You must have at least 120 to play the game smooth. So I dont understand why they cut the framerate. Its a shame

      Thank you so much! I primarily play on PC, so I'm not very familiar with how these games perform on consoles. However, I can say that FM8 feels quite good on PC. I also recommend Assetto Corsa, although the downside for console players is that you can't install mods. Additionally, EA Sports WRC is quite a good choice 😊

    I’m going to get started on the game tomorrow so I don’t have any experience yet but you should try turning off v sync if possible and also any buffering or pre rendered frames. What TVs are you using? When I was using TVs previously I could notice the slower response time compared to monitors and it was only certain titles that it was really evident.

      @username Thanks for the tips! I've experimented with various settings, but the issue remains specifically in online multiplayer due to Turn 10 Studios choice to cap the FPS at 60 (in multi-player) . As for the TVs, I'm using LG C1 OLEDs which boast one of the fastest panels available, and I've never encountered this issue in other games. Again, appreciate your input!🙂💙✌️

      I get stable 120fps in single-player 👍🙂
      It's only on multi-player they looked the game at 60fps

    I wanna know why I can run the game’s benchmark and get 127fps, then I’ll race the same exact track with the same exact weather conditions online and get 80fps. I’m convinced that game is broken at some low level. My system is a 7800x3D, 7900XTX, and 32GB’s of 6000MT/s CL30 AMD Expo ram. It just doesn’t make sense

      That's because the game is locked at 60fps when playing multi-player.. That's why I made this video..

      @@ProjectSimRacing but why is the game allowed to go above that lock. I have a feeling that is causing some weird pacing issues. Similar to how recording in 60fps and playing at a variable framerate can cause issues for the recording.

      @BigGreyDonut Having a higher frame rate than 60 fps can provide smoother visuals and a more responsive gaming experience, especially in a racing game where every millisecond counts. It can make the gameplay feel more fluid and can improve your reaction times. So you want as much fps as your system can handle!

      @@ProjectSimRacing I understand that in theory higher fps is better. With that said, the game is supposed to be imposing a 60 FPS cap. However, it’s either 1.)Imposing it but the fps counter is just broken, or 2.) the 60 FPS cap is being imposed but the cap is broken and allowed to leak out to 80 FPS in a very inconsistent way with bad frame pacing. I have a feeling it’s #2 bc I’ve verified the framerate with other software. Being likely #2 I am probably getting an extra 20fps over what the “cap” should allow, but it’s a terribly paced stutter mess. Yes the frame times would be slightly lower than the 16ms of 60fps, but that they would not be consistently done. I think that’s what’s happening. And trust me, a solidly paced 60fps is much better than a poorly paced 80fps. Either way though, the cap should be raised to 120 fps at minimum or have no cap at all in an “unranked” mode

    That lag has been a reoccurrence in the Forza games I think. It sucks and can throw you off, so I can understand that

    Forza seems like that to me no matter what one I'm playing it kinda has a floating feeling to it...🤔 but I bet you notice it even more because you have really good equipment 🤘

      Hmm, that's interesting. I haven't played a Forza game since Horizon 4, and back then, I didn't have a high-end setup. So maybe that's the problem. I also wonder if being accustomed to stable 120fps gameplay factors into that as well. Thanks for the insightful comment ✌️

    Multiplayer is not locked at 60 if you choose uncapped fps. I get 85+ fps in multiplayer races

      @@ProjectSimRacing might be your settings. I did 20+ races online and not once my fps were locked. Check mabix on youtube. He confirms in his forza multiplayer video that the fps are not locked to 60 in online races.

      change vsync settings ..I have one friend that has multiplayer uncapped only if he caps fps at 60 in-game and vsync on ..I also heard that limiting it to 30fps in game is in fact a cap of half of the monitor refresh rate ..so on a 240hz monitor, you will be capprd at 120

    It seems to me like this game is supposed to be played via gamepad on one Full HD+ monitor. I think developers will create a version specially for sim racers.

      Honestly, @MIMCKMedia, I haven't tried multiplayer since making this video. But as far as I know, it's likely still capped at 60 fps since I haven't heard any updates on that.

    FM is less good than it looked... texture of the paints, sensation of speed, texture of the sand in the gravel trap etc... I think it's still a good game but I find it rather arcade

      @Basketman7, I have to agree with you. While the game does have its shortcomings in terms of visuals and textures unfortunately, I do feel that the ffb does offer a decent level of immersion. So it's a bit of a mixed bag for me too. Still enjoyable but not without its flaws..

    Check your deadzones, there might be a steering deadzone in the center, you really don’t need more then 60 fps in any game, maybe vr just to avoid motion sickness.

      @thumbwar73, thanks for the tip on checking the deadzones. As for the 60 FPS cap, while it might be sufficient for some, it can be limiting for those who are used to higher frame rates, especially in a sim racing environment where smoothness and precision are key🙂
