- Sparta performing on 5/10/2023 in celebration of the 20 year anniversary of “Wiretap Scars” at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco(CA)
I met him at Tricky Falls while buying a beer before the Green Day concert. I was more star struck seeing Jim than I was for Green Day. I didn't want to bother him but my wife went up to him as asked if I could have a picture. He was super humble and nice. He told my wife to take her time and take a few pictures.
I will never stop listening to Wiretap Scars. Long live Jim, what a master.
I miss watching this group on mtv late nigth I wish I can see this group in person seriously
I had no idea they celebrated in SF I saw them there in 2004. I missed it :(
Still have this album on CD. Still listen to it. One of the rare post 90s bands that are worthy of my attention.
I was bitter for awhile about not having a 2nd guitar, but it provides a different experience to something I already love. I've seen the band play a good chunk of these songs with another guitarist which was a great time! If there was a live record made, it would sound much different and more raw and probably almost like a demo. I'm happy with both worlds.
Saw them on April 25, 2003 when they opened up for Pearl Jam in Cleveland and I have been a fan ever since. I might see them in Columbus, OH this weekend. Coincidentally, I am seeing Pearl Jam in September.
i was there! great show brought me back to freshman year of hs 2003 lol
Sounds like
His voice is struggling, what do you think?
Seeing them in Australia in march 😊
@@ragebait988 jim was getting over a cold at this show, his vocals should be all good to go in March. enjoy!
Poor Jim. He cant even sing these songs in key anymore. Still will always love this band though.
This must just be an off night or he’s tired/run down from tour…. Saw them in Philly he was right on
Loved the show but am I the only that thinks they need a backup guitarist and keyboardist to really do this album justice?
no it's fine as a 3 piece
Agree. Their original show line up was two main guitars. With a back up guitarist who would also play keys in the background.
Agree.
@@tacomamusic I guess, but Sparta has never been a 3 person band since it’s inception. If you listen to their albums it’s always 2 guitar players and a piano/sound guy. The songs come off a bit flat without the full assemble.
I hear what you’re saying, but at the same time I like the sparseness of how the songs are translated live now. Also in this day and age it makes zero economical and logistical sense to tour with a 5 to 6 piece band unless you’re The 1975.
do you have footage of dyzstopia? (dystopia tribute) if so, pleaseeee upload I BEG you
oh crap, I said this before It started I think.. sorry
