My 'new to me' 97 1500 was sludged up bad. I took down the oil pan without any trouble and cleaned everything out as best I could and did a timing chain and sprockets at the same time. The oil pump pickup screen wasnt clogged at all. After 5 oil and filter changes the oil stays nice and clean now. After some research I only used WIX filters. (Fram is garbage)

The last time I had the oil pan off it was pretty clean I have to put in a new oil pump. That was like 13 years ago. I only use Mopar oil filters
That’s insane. How was it still running with all that crap on the cam and lifters🙄
I have no idea it was crazy but it did run good
