Great to see LOMAX and Oscar on the road. Hope the rear brakes on LOMAX are a simple fix. The help is always good. albeit kinda sick humour some times. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

Brakes can be a bunch of fun on these older trucks. If you want to leave them the way the are I can fix them when the truck gets delivered here 👍. How does it feel to have the 2 coolest trucks around?!?!? 3 counting the 4 door in the garage. Great video!!

That 'spacer' under the carb on that Ford FE engine (330, 361, 391) is a vacuum governor that was supposed to work in conjunction with a flyweight controlled valve in the distributor. When they reached a certain RPM the valve in the distributor closes causing the flaps in the governor to close and restrict maximum RPM to 3400-3800 rpm or so, depending on how they were adjusted. Later on Ford went to an electronic governor on the medium duty trucks. If you remove the governor plate, make sure you have a good tachometer, so you don't accidentally over-rev it and shoot a rod out the side.😱

Hey man, when you mentioned removing the spacer from the carb you mentioned the "stuff" at the carb base. That is a governer about all of the medium duty trucks from that Era thru the 80's back in the carbureted days I was raised on a grain and Peanut Farm we had a couple of medium duty flatbed grain trucks how long with other farmers in the area that work together with my dad at times I'll have that type of setup everyone that I was ever around they were disconnected because I think they would just stop working correctly We had 1975 Chevrolet and a late 60's Chevrolet. By the time I was 10 years old it was the early 80s and all of ours were disconnected and the other farmers in the area that I helped her we work together at time theirs were disconnected. From what I was told it was more of an engine over speed Governor than one to control the speed of the vehicle
