These old Toyota builds are the best! I remember driving my roommates 1984 on a road trip to Banff in 1985. What a great car. Nice to see one so carefully restored!
In Japan they have engine size tax, so that's why they were 1988cc and why Japanese cars had 2.0s and why Toyota worked on a performance engine this size.
I truly hope the winner of this exemplary, highly collectable, Celica not only gives it the best care that it deserves, but appreciates the love, blood, sweat, tears and endless hours of work that you have put into this awesome car. Kudos and absolute respect Sarah!
I can see how it's going to be difficult letting this one go. You put your soul into this build and it shows. This is definitely my favorite build you've done so far. Aloha.🤙
That shot with the Quattro Coupe is everything that makes this channel special. These reviews are the culmination of Sarah's talent and dedication to her work, and it shows.
Absolutely beautiful!. You are extremely talented and truly put out a very comprehensive and well thought out vehicle!. Whoever wins this gem will be blessed .
Your passion for bringing these cars back to their original beauty is just amazing and combined with your attention to detail makes your videos so entertaining to watch. I think if anyone deserves to be successful in this UA-cam world we now live in it is people like you for making it more entertaining than TV ever was. Keep doing what you are doing and don't ever lose your passion.
Just awesome.! Thanks for sharing this build Sarah, big trip down memory lane from my apprenticeship years when cars were made for connected drivers.! Brilliant and appreciated content 👌
I absolutely love how this car turned out. It sounds freakin' fantastic and looks to be a super fun and spicy ride. As a fellow 80s baby, I am a big fan of this design language and am glad you made the choices you did to preserve its unique character while also modernizing some bits like the suspension. You just don't see things like this out on the road anymore. It's a very special car, and I'm sure it will be really hard to let it go. Judging by the comments here, I think your audience is full of people who do truly appreciate your fierce commitment to your projects. I think this car will be well loved and cared for wherever it ends up. Excellent work, Sarah!! Also, those funky little service lights are both hilarious and delightfully functional. Love it!!
The smirk during the beans test. Nobody builds things like Sarah does. Job meticulously done and done amazingly. I would love it and hug it and take it for walkies
I love that exhaust note -- throaty without being raspy or "fart-can" ish. Really great!! Whoever wins this thing is going to have an *AMAZING* ride. I just hope they don't live in California, because I'm pretty sure that exhaust is illegal there. 🙁
Don't diss yourself with what you would do - this has turned out beautifully and sounds better than it looks which is an achievement. Some very fortunate person is going to have a blast.
Hey Sarah! Just an FYI. The lines inside the front windshield are actually the factory radio antenna, not defrosters. Also, technically, it has a factory woofer in the dash, not a subwoofer. All great content though! I really enjoy your channel! Keep up the great work! Thanks!
Amazing build on that car! I can't believe how well it turned out, and all the details are super chef's kisses! When I was a kid, my dad worked for a dealership and got to drive new cars to the local pro ice hocky games and drive them onto the ice during halftime for promotionals. I remember we got to drive one of these and at night it was like being in a spaceship with that super-advanced dashboard!
This was great trip down memory lane, thanks so much for this. I graduated from school back in the 80's and remember riding around in my best friends Celica. Fun times! Have a great day!😍❤👍 And🍀 to all those entered in the drawing!🎉🎆
This is the one car review I have been looking forward to the most, this year. You should really be proud of what you accomplished with this build - just astonishing! So sad for you that you can't keep it - hope the new owner will love it just as much as you do. This build series was a blast to watch - as always, thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
What a stellar job you've done on this car, Sarah! I fully understand your sadness in giving it away, for this obviously is now one very special car. I can only try to imagine the thrill if it were in my garage. Awesome job! ❤
Digital dash was an option on the P type. My friend had one back in the day. This was one of the coolest cars available back in 1982. mI remember the P type seats being alot more sporty than these. Oh, gotta edit! My friend blew the engine racing a *Chevette* with a Buick 90* NA V6 jammed in it on a windy road.
As a fellow fan of 80s imports ( Own 85 CRX and 86 CRX SI), this has been a great series to follow. Also in AZ so respect for fighting through the stupid heat we had this summer!
Unreal! It is really great to see this beautiful car on the road and knowing all the blood sweat and tears that Sarah put into it makes this review even more special!
Sarah, you have a great niche concept here. Reviews of our old favorites with your twist. I hope people with correct restorations will offer their babies up for you to review. My first car was a 68 GTO and I would love to see you review it. Nice job!
Straight 6, old school, tech, with some modernization. I wish you were keeping it. With the Quatro, what a pair. Maybe add a Z or BMW from the same Era for the triple.
There are no words left from all the foregoing praise (and you deserve every bit of it)! All I can say is that I tremendously enjoyed this series and look forward to the next one. I hope you can leverage this channel into some form of side business. You can't keep putting all your energy into one off projects only to give them away. You need a talented business manager with a vision for your brand.
Here's a twist. The video shows it is posted 3 hours ago and when I look at my clock it shows 9am Saturday morning. Hmm! As for your presentation. Super. What you did and how you did it is simply amazing. You deserve many more subscribers.
That exhaust sounds awesome!! I was in jr. high and high school in the 80's (graduated in 1991) and I loved these cars! Never had one, I always had VW Beetles (which is actually how I found your channel, when you were doing the Beetle) Great job, that car is going to make somebody very happy!!
You sourced the perfect exhaust note… loved the sounds picked up by the exhaust tips camera. Very objective review. I’m going to miss this car, too. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Watched the entire build series. Pretty sweet. I drove one of these to my senior prom in '91. It belonged to my dates dad. Even being a ten year old car at the time it was still so cool.
What a great carview. Reviewing all the upgrades and the details we didn't see during the build kept it interesting. Giving away cars that you put your heart into is emotional. The engine and exhaust sound amazing and all the other changes really came together.
I owned a 84 P type, car drove like a dream. Everyone I drove around was amazed how the ride was compared to other modern cars in 2017. I’ve had many people try to buy the car while I was driving it, the motor is popular for making it into a turbo stroker. This car has a lot of tuning potential. I wish I can own another one.
Sarah, great job! I grew up with an 85 p type that stayed in the family for almost 30 years. There's never been a car since that meant quite as much. Wish I'd been able to restore it the way you did. Thanks for this!
Sarah you did a wonderful job restoring that beautiful little car, and it sounds amazing. I love that little equalizer. I really hope who ever gets it, enjoys it and takes care of it. It's a little treasure. 😎👌👍
Such an amazing job, Sarah! Your attention to detail is incredible! Loved watching the series on this and seeing/hearing it is just the the perfect end. Whoever wins this is going to be so happy!
Awesome TOYOTA! I’ve only owned Toyota trucks since my first to my newest 2018 TUNDRA SR 4X4 . 1980,87,93,98,2003 & now the’18. My second tundra but my’93 SAS was my favorite truck because it would have lasted for ever but the salt belt ate it…..
Just a beautiful car for today. You really outdid yourself with this build. Whoever wins her is going to have an excellent piece of Toyota history. Thanks for sharing Sarah😊
You did an amazing job restoring this car. My dad had a midnight blue L model in the early 90’s, and I miss it dearly. The Mk2 is my favorite Supra model too.
Back in college, my daily driver was an '83 Supra P-Type in all black. I loved it. But at about 150k miles, it started burning lots of oil and had rust issues. Traded it in on a used '87 Porsche 944S with 37k miles, which was my daily driver that I drove to 200k miles before selling. No rust or oil-burning issues with the Porsche, but I did sometimes miss the torque of the Supra's 6-cylinder. And I agree, this is definitely the best generation of Supra!
I think them there wires are the antenna. I could be wrong. That pull away @10:20 was music. What would have made it "orgasmic" is a freeway underpass. Or tunnel, winding up through the gears. That would sound great. Very cool car . . . ✌😎
You've done an outstanding job once again. I'm continually impressed by your talent! Of all the UA-cam channels I tune into, yours stands out as my top favorite. I eagerly await every one of your uploads.
Congratulations Sarah on another top-notch project completion. You are a highly entertaining and inspiring presenter, and produce excellent content and project results. So inspired am I, it's back to the Dodge AT4 project for the day!
GREAT job on that resto, Sarah! And I agree that this was the best generation of Supra. Not the fastest. Obviously. But the best in terms of pure driving fun. Kinda like a six-cylinder Miata! Congrats to whoever wins this beauty! Hope they treasure her and take great care of her.
The upload of this video has been [long] awaited. Anticipation! 😳 You have made this build so fun to watch along with. As always. Everything you’ve done has been an excellent improvement on an already fun model year car. Thank you for making this particular Friday… that much better Sarah.❤️
Great video and amazing restoration of my favorite Toyota model. I’ve truly loved watching this restoration (I’ve got a P model so had never seen the L model digital dash working - fantastic). Bravo, Sarah!
I grew up with the same generation Supra/Celica. Sarah if I win it I'll let you borrow it periodically. What a survivor. It needs to be a weekend only car.
I had this model back in the day and it just blew everything else off the road. It was quick and fast. Learnt 2 things from this video. (1) You could unscrew the service light. (2) I could never work out why my rear window washer wasn't working because I didn't know about the rear tank! Wish I had it now.
It looks great and sounds great, Sarah. I'm especially fond of those wheels, and I like the other additions you've made. If I were 30 years younger, I'd be entered to win it, but I doubt I could get in and out of it without a lot of discomfort, so I'll let it pass. Nice work, as usual.
These old Toyota builds are the best! I remember driving my roommates 1984 on a road trip to Banff in 1985. What a great car. Nice to see one so carefully restored!
As usual Sarah has done a first class job.
@@reloadingdontshoot1 YQR!
You must have seen a ton of interesting cars back in the days.
It’s almost like cars have gone backwards for people who appreciate them. I miss cars like this.
I've owned an '85 Supra for 35 years. A real joy to drive and very dependable.
She's a beauty! Win or lose I appreciate the car, and the heart you put into it, thank you!
Exhaust sounds are a whole experience by itself. I love what you've done with this classic.
The sound of music, modern cars sound like crap
In Japan they have engine size tax, so that's why they were 1988cc and why Japanese cars had 2.0s and why Toyota worked on a performance engine this size.
Beautiful car I'd love to have one I'd never sell it if I had one ❤❤❤
I truly hope the winner of this exemplary, highly collectable, Celica not only gives it the best care that it deserves, but appreciates the love, blood, sweat, tears and endless hours of work that you have put into this awesome car. Kudos and absolute respect Sarah!
You deserve 1M subs. At least. Always a pleasure.
I can see how it's going to be difficult letting this one go. You put your soul into this build and it shows. This is definitely my favorite build you've done so far. Aloha.🤙
I love the old Celica Supras
That shot with the Quattro Coupe is everything that makes this channel special. These reviews are the culmination of Sarah's talent and dedication to her work, and it shows.
OMG, that exhaust sound is absolutely, positively sick. So, so sick. Beautiful build.
Absolutely beautiful!.
You are extremely talented and truly put out a very comprehensive and well thought out vehicle!. Whoever wins this gem will be blessed .
My dream car ....❤ beautiful...simply awesomeness...pure nostalgic experience with this vid 😊

This was so fun to watch! Love the music and editing. I learned a lot! So many cool little features and such a cool car overall.
Just awesome.! Thanks for sharing this build Sarah, big trip down memory lane from my apprenticeship years when cars were made for connected drivers.! Brilliant and appreciated content 👌
I love those pop up headlights, the comfortable seats, the totally excellent sound, and the performance. Great modifications too.
Further proof they don't make 'em like they used to!
Cars perform better and are much safer than they used to be, but the materials utilized in construction are not what they once were.
@@SarahnTuned And the majority have lost the driver/car connection.
It’s a perfect car except the decals but that’s just taste

I like how the digital tach is the shape of the torque curve. Well optimistic version of the torque curve. Nice car. Great for early 80s!!
Your smile as you're talking about (driving) the car is priceless!
I love that exhaust note -- throaty without being raspy or "fart-can" ish. Really great!! Whoever wins this thing is going to have an *AMAZING* ride. I just hope they don't live in California, because I'm pretty sure that exhaust is illegal there. 🙁

I’ve wanted one of these since I was in high school in the late-90s. Still want one!
This review brought a huge smile to my face. Well done, Sarah!
My definite dream car growing up in the 80s, and also the Toyota Celica GT
Thanks! You deserve more than just words.
Thanks!
Cool to see people starting to notice the mk2
I've always had a thing for them since I was little.
Amazing build on that car! I can't believe how well it turned out, and all the details are super chef's kisses! Superb build what a clean car that has become! Hats off to you Sarah you’ve made an absolutely wonderful job of that car.. ….Respect 👍

The Toyota have get AWESMOME Sarah. Just love it. 😊😊😊😊😊

Watched the entire build series. Pretty sweet. I drove one of these to my senior prom in '91. It belonged to my dates dad. Even being a ten year old car at the time it was still so cool.
You are an amazing person for giving this car away, especially since you love it so much! You deserve a 10 out of 10 for selflessness and generosity!
That exhaust note is absolute perfection.
What a great carview. Reviewing all the upgrades and the details we didn't see during the build kept it interesting. Giving away cars that you put your heart into is emotional. The engine and exhaust sound amazing and all the other changes really came together.
Toyota restorations. This is your destiny!
I've loved watching you bring this beauty back to its original glory. All the respect for your work ethic. Keep being yourself Sarah!
The older Toyota cars ROCK!
This Celica is amazing. Love these "retro" rebuilds.
I just LOVE the sound of that 6-cylinder..
That sounds amazing, you know the exhaust is going to get better over time too.
I too agree with your penguin rating. Best car I've ever owned. Beautiful job Sarah. Now, take a break and don't work yourself into an early grave!

You should have an auction to be the "guest" leading/trailing cam car driver...I'd bid on that...!😆 Absolutely excellent restoration - perfect!!
Loved that cold start. Those revs sound nice!
Those 2 movable lights and the molded funnel are three of the smartest little things I've ever seen built into a car.

Such a beautiful car. Always mad at myself for not buying one. You did an amazing job on restoration.
Congratulations Sarah on another top-notch project completion. You are a highly entertaining and inspiring presenter, and produce excellent content and project results. So inspired am I, it's back to the Dodge AT4 project for the day!

beautiful looking cars still
amazing job Sarah, you really brought back to life that gem of a car, and making it a resto mod with over the top age correct bits... truly amazing!
"So you don't spill any when you service it." Much appreciated!
Great video and amazing restoration of my favorite Toyota model. I’ve truly loved watching this restoration (I’ve got a P model so had never seen the L model digital dash working - fantastic). Bravo, Sarah!
Yea, I don’t think many would agree that it’s the best generation
Very cool, Vintage Ride.
