I've left these things out of the review to keep it more of a review from my experience. Not only that but the depending on where You are / which region You got the DJI FPV from, the signal strength will be different (it's a huge difference) so it will be very personal experience. But to answer these questions - i never had any problems with the signal when flying in open spaces no matter how far I flew from myself (but never more then a kilometer I think ) only one case of lost signal, which I stated in the video (when I flew over and behind the volcano caldera) 😄
There have been people who have tested it to its limits you can definitely outfly the battery's ability to bring you back I think that clocks out somewhere over 6K
Hey ! I have an attachment on my drone that can hold a GoPro. If You check out Amazon (or any local online marketplace) you should find these DJI FPV GoPro mounts ( mine is from sunnylife)
Thank You for Your feedback ! Will have that in mind (it's always a problem with music, as I'm working with studio headphones that should be good for most people, but then again, I unplug them and it sounds way different on each device 😅) Will keep it in mind to have it more quite 😄
Thanks for the video. I am moving to Belgium in a few weeks and have been looking to get the DJI FPV. It looks like the drone regulations for both countries fall under the European 2019/947. Can you tell me if I need to register the drone, do I need a license to fly, any tips? I know this FPV is heavy and requires some consideration. Thanks
Overall I would say European laws in terms of FPV are very.... unclear. I'm not sure how it is in Belgium tho 🤔 Worst case scenario, fly in more natural places, further from people and with a spotter 😄
If you live in the USA, make sure you DO NOT do the latest firmware update. It will require Remote ID. It is the only problem I have on the DJI drones.
Brilliant flying skills mate and thanks for the comprehensive review! Looks like such a cool drone. Have you had any problems with break up of signal yet?
Thank You ! These were literally the couple of first times flying the drone 😄 No problems with signal other then the one time when I got behind the caldera of volcano (the one I mentioned in the video) other than that I've had no problems with the signal 😄
So you’re using the googles V2 looking the camera of the FPV drone, but your micro sd is in the go pro and not in the drone or in the googles V2 right ?
Seriously considering getting one of these, just one question, can you see the props in the footage as I've seen clips where you can see the props, or have you zoomed in slightly to erase them out of the picture?
On the DJI FPV , depending on the angle, speed etc. You might see the props in the shots, not on the footage from GoPro tho ! (And even on the DJI FPV it's only sometimes visible.)
Can someone please help me out, I was installing a battery and it took some force to plug it in, ( into the drone) so on the drone there’s two big pins and 3 smaller ones . Can someone verify that the two smaller pins next to each other that one is shorter than the other. Thank you so much!
That's a nice deal, Have You ever used a DJI drone or is it not only first FPV drone but also first drone in general ? It has a much bigger learning curve , but it's a very different experience! 😄 Have fun ! 😄
@@SebastianDylag It's my very first drone. I've ALWAYS wanted one. I'm sure the learning curve is a real b*stard but I've been tooling around with simulators and building PC's for like...20 years (holy shit I think I just aged half a decade in this sentence). If I can master Elite Dangerous I can master a drone XD
Fajny filmik, dzięki. Latałeś z motion controller na Virtual Flight. U mnie nie działają wszystkie przyciski. Nie można opuścić kamery, zmienić trybu. Poza tym lata ok. Czy tak ma być?
DJI has their own free flights simulator and it will work all the functions of both controls. But hes right the motion controller will not go into manual
haven't used the Avata yet but will try to get it for testing. I guess for my style of filming the FPV is preferred, just because it's stronger and faster.
The guys are right it really depends on how you intend on flying it. I did a Chase video with my granddaughter on a swing set and she kicked it. It was the avata so it survived and no danger to her. If it was the FPV drone it might have cut her up. I use the avata for close proximity work that doesn't need to move very fast. I use the FPV for faster moving larger action videos. I use the mavic for more cinematic study videos
so... Im absolutely gutted... I bought DJI FPV to fly "manual", I don't know if my definition of manual was wrong but basically even on manual mode my drone automatically goes up.... like... ??? Im 70 hours into Liftoff before it arrived, practising there in a mode where if I release all my buttons the dron will just fall down - meaning it won't go up or hover still on its own I need to constantly control the throttle to keep it levelled same like you do in a car and if I release all the buttons the dron will just start falling down like a helicopter with an engine off. How to turn that on?? Or what drone doesn't have this nonsense? Cos if its about the drone model im selling it and getting another one TODAY. Its shocking because I was flying exactly DJI FPV model in the Liftoff simulator, not a different drone model. I ve been on Liftoff via my DJI controller 2 doing double backflips and rolls like its nothing - on what I thought manual mode - and now in reality even the manual mode is with an assist. There is not a mode like that in my actual drone/goggles. What the actual F?
the Dji FPV in manual and with all settings correctly (and controller set the way it should be for manual flights) should fly like any other manual FPV drone 🤔
@@SebastianDylag what do you mean by controller set the way it should be for manual flights? Its all working fine, its literally just that "auto throttle" that I have on for some reason... There is a mode like that in Liftoff too, but there is 4 modes in Liftoff and 3 in actual DJI FPV, its like its missing my one. Im looking for the mode where when I turn the drone on > engines are on > then switch to manual and push throttle up for literally just half a second the drone should go up lets say 5feet and then start falling and crash into the ground. How a mode where you constantly assisted to go up can be called a MANUAL mode.
@@SebastianDylag no I didn't its not about that you don't understand what am I trying to say. Let me put this way: you turn on your drone right, you then JUST turn in on without touching anything else - it will automatically start going up, right? Exactly. I DONT WANT that. I want it to go up only when I press the throttle up. I don't want to constantly go up without touching any buttons or sticks AND IT DOES - and its called a MANUAL mode - lol? I don't understand how that can be called a manual mode when you automatically assisted raising up into the sky so if you won't do anything it would "launch into space" literally and just loose signal. I want to press throttle for a split second - go up like 5 feet and then crush into the ground IF I do not touch the throttle again - exactly like I do in Liftoff using the same DJI controller and even the same in-game drone model which is like I said DJI FPV.
@@LAMB_SAUCE From what You describe, it seems You have something wrong, my guess is still the left analog stick not set up correctly (for manual flight You need to open the back, and turn the screw until the left analog is not self centering) In other words, the analog when left at the bottom would be 0%, and only by moving it up, You get more power. If You have it self centering (like it is out of the box, for people using the normal and sport mode) Then the throtle is at 50% when centered, and You have to fight with it to get it to be less than 50%. I'm 100% sure that if You did open the back, and change the stick tension of the left analog, so that it doesnt self center, You would have it work as it should. It's user error and not the device error. IN SHORT: Without changing the analog tension You have it self cetnering meaning that the throttle is at 50% all the time. PS. I know becouse my first manual flight I did the same thing, but I knew before flying that You have to change it, I just didn't.
I personally think it's worth it for a specific buyer. For me it's the safety / easy of use from DJI , with FPV flying. I'm not looking for freestyle, rather for a different style of shots for cinematic travel videos. But that's why it's a personal decision at the end of the day... What You need and are looking for in a drone. 😄 Thanks ! 😄
That's not a bad price, might have to check if it doesn't sometimes go for bit cheaper. But it's still a great drone if You are okay with it's weaker sides 😄
Didn't use the O3 but from what I have seen it seems like the camera on the Avata somewhat 🤔 DJI FPV with that camera setup would be much much better (for most it would make it usable without adding in a GoPro) 😄
@@SebastianDylag Absolutely. The DJI FPV's camera is really showing its age. I have both the FPV and Avata and it's almost a night and day difference. GoPro is still king, mounted the 11 black and 11 mini to both but don't feel comfortable with them on the top.

I dont know but... heavy? Really? I carry this stuff in my backpack and it's completely fine. Even holding it in the hands. Short flight time in - C degrees? What? I get around 13 minutes, which is like maybe a minute less compared to summer temps. If you are pushing the drone like mad, obviously youll get shorter flight times...
Compared to other travel filmmaking gear we have.... It is on the heavy side. It has nothing to do with it being heavy in hand or not, rather that weights more and is less practical than let's say a DJI Mavic Air 2 or other drones. About the flight time. Yes, in a way You are right, my flight time was effected by me pushing it too much when I just started, but the temperature does effect it. ( There is a reason DJI themselves stated that the batteries operational temperature should be above 0 C , so flying while it's -5 c for example - can and will lead to not optimal performance. (From flight time to low voltage errors etc.) But everyone has their own opinion and Your welcome to make Your own video about DJI FPV 😄 Edit : Also I fly with GoPro on it, so flight time is even shorter.

@@SebastianDylag I've got experience with homebuilt fixed wing aircraft - which over 20 odd years all eventually take a hard landing and get stripped for parts! :) This is my main concern about the FPV - It's such a densely packed piece of micro tech that home repair is pretty much out of the question. I did have a homebuilt non-GPS drone about 10 years ago, that I lost after a flyaway on its maiden flight, which put me off them for ages. I do love the idea of the Mini 3 Pro - just for the sheer convenience - It would add an extra dimension to family holiday photos. ...but I'm so drawn to the buzz of FPV flying. I'm a flight sim junkie and I have a Rift - to do it in real life with an FPV drone would be such a buzz.
In Your case it is a hard choice to make. If it was up to me, I still think the Mini 3 Pro would be better to get started with (as the transition to FPV would be much much easier - the Normal and sport mode operate the same as on DJI Mini 3 Pro!) You will get much more out of Mini 3 pro, for both photos, videos, longer flight times etc. But I won't lie, flying FPV for someone like me (or You) is amazing, it definitely is an incredible feeling. For me it felt like the next step from DJI Mavic Air 2, and an addition, but if I wore to pick only one for travel and filmmaking I would take the Mavic Air 2 (or mini 3 pro in Your case) The videos that will be up on my channel pretty soon will talk solely about this topic 😄

Definitely great for long range / cinematic flying! But not for freestyle like You mentioned 😄
There is an outstanding video of a very skilled pilot doing freestyle with this drone. It may not be the best for that category but it absolutely can do it and do it well
Crashed mine in -2 conditions. Got a 2nd hand one, mint condition, 190.00. Back up into the air. Honestly a good, sturdy drone.
Was the first one beyond saving ? 🤔
@SebastianDylag electronically, it's fine. One broken front, right arm. I've the replacement arm, but very fiddley.
I've had 3 crashes with mine. I fixed the one with one arm broke myself. I fixed the 1 with a camera broke myself but 1 of my crashes totaled it and I ended up getting a refurbish 1 from DJI and it flys just fine
Nice video! On my site I use mine to do Chase videos. So I can't afford to lose any minutes of flight time with the GoPro. But I'm not all that good with video editing anyway so I'm losing what I don't know how to use . I love the way you show the layering of the music I also have a subscription to that same site
Nice video! I have this beast since they released it! Last week I bought gopro 11 but im now fighting with vibrations! did you have same problem? I found that I can fix it with higher shutter speed but Im searching for more informations
Vibrations in the GoPro shots ?
I fly with hypersmooth on and then put the footage into reelsteady, so don't really any vibrations 🤔
As for vibrations while flying through the goggles. I don't remember seeing any, but that could just be focusing on the shots and flying 😅
@@SebastianDylag yeah in the Gopro. I have hypersmooth to stabilize footage later in gyroflow. Now the footage is unuseable. Also i had different sound of my propperels after Ive attached the gopro and it scared me a lot 😅 never crashed that drone so I have no idea why I have this problems
@@RobinDcreation my bad I meant to say that I use gyroflow not reelsteady 😅
But yeah, i have the GoPro 11 with hypersmooth turned on and later extra stabilization from gyroflow 🤔
It might sound different since it's now heavier with the GoPro 🤔
How do you safely and securely mount the go pro onto the drone?
What I do : I bought a GoPro mount for DJI FPV, which is screwed onto the DJI FPV ( check out SunnyLIFE DJI FPV)
@@SebastianDylag Thanks!
How do you mount a GoPro on your drone?
With a Sunnylife GoPro mount, it's screwed on to the FPV 😄
Drone looks cool but hows the transmitter on that thing is what people want to know. What is the top range in terms of travel distance before drop in connectivity in an open field compare to structured ones.
How do you attach the go pro to the top of the drone?
Hey ! I have an attachment on my drone that can hold a GoPro.
If You check out Amazon (or any local online marketplace) you should find these DJI FPV GoPro mounts ( mine is from sunnylife)
Thank you for the video. Just a heads-up, the background music is too loud and very distracting. Great content however
Thank You for Your feedback ! Will have that in mind (it's always a problem with music, as I'm working with studio headphones that should be good for most people, but then again, I unplug them and it sounds way different on each device 😅)
Will keep it in mind to have it more quite 😄
Thanks for the video. I am moving to Belgium in a few weeks and have been looking to get the DJI FPV. It looks like the drone regulations for both countries fall under the European 2019/947. Can you tell me if I need to register the drone, do I need a license to fly, any tips? I know this FPV is heavy and requires some consideration. Thanks
Overall I would say European laws in terms of FPV are very.... unclear.
I'm not sure how it is in Belgium tho 🤔
Worst case scenario, fly in more natural places, further from people and with a spotter 😄
thank you
Great video! 👌🏼
Thank You ! 😄
If you live in the USA, make sure you DO NOT do the latest firmware update. It will require Remote ID. It is the only problem I have on the DJI drones.
I've heard about it with the Avata, but it's the same for the FPV ? 🤔
@SebastianDylag I'm pretty sure there is no remote id for fpv but that doesn't mean they might not do it in the future
I'm pretty sure there is no remote id for dji fpv but also you need to install the latest firmware in order for it to let you fly
@@noahterrell5452 hopefully they dont!
@@noahterrell5452 Didn't think about checking for updates, need to update mine soon 😄
Note: 12:53
Brilliant flying skills mate and thanks for the comprehensive review! Looks like such a cool drone. Have you had any problems with break up of signal yet?
Thank You ! These were literally the couple of first times flying the drone 😄
No problems with signal other then the one time when I got behind the caldera of volcano (the one I mentioned in the video) other than that I've had no problems with the signal 😄
How do you mount the go pro on it?
Hey ! I have a GoPro mount for DJI FPV from Sunnylife 😄
@@SebastianDylag ok and how you can connect the go pro to the goggles v2?
@@antovrd95 I don't, I just try to position the GoPro as similarly to to the FPV camera as I can before flying 😄
So you’re using the googles V2 looking the camera of the FPV drone, but your micro sd is in the go pro and not in the drone or in the googles V2 right ?
@@antovrd95 I have 3 micro SD cards just in case : 1 in each so Goggles , FPV and GoPro
There is a setting on the drone where it will not record the props it crops the video enough for them to be invisible
Yes thank you, I found it. The distortion correction.
I LOVE THIS DRONE
Good video!!
Thank You ! 😄 Do You have an FPV or DJI FPV ? 😄
Can someone please help me out, I was installing a battery and it took some force to plug it in, ( into the drone) so on the drone there’s two big pins and 3 smaller ones . Can someone verify that the two smaller pins next to each other that one is shorter than the other. Thank you so much!
Hey, are You using the DJI FPV ? The pin that connects the battery to the drone itself ? I will check in about 20 minutes or so and let You know 😄
Yes, one is smaller on mine too 😄
Great drone✔️
I am thinking a refurbished package is a great way to get into FPV.
Haven't seen a refurbished one yet , what's the price on one?🤔
I just got one of these for a pretty good deal $1000 CDN for the whole kit as my first drone and I'm pretty sure it's gonna get me my money's worth.
That's a nice deal,
Have You ever used a DJI drone or is it not only first FPV drone but also first drone in general ?
It has a much bigger learning curve , but it's a very different experience! 😄
Have fun !
DJI has their own free flights simulator and it will work all the functions of both controls. But hes right the motion controller will not go into manual
Właśnie szukam dla siebie sztuki ....ale nigdzie nie ma ....wszystko poszło na ukraine😅subuje 👍
Do you prefer the FVP over the avata?
haven't used the Avata yet but will try to get it for testing.
I guess for my style of filming the FPV is preferred, just because it's stronger and faster.
The FPV is waaaay faster than the Avata. It all depends on what type of flying you will be doing.
I use the mavic for more cinematic study videos
nice aquascape bro
Question when you are wearing the goggles can you see who is standing beside you
just wondering why he keep caling it AVADA not AVATA
@@LAMB_SAUCE did You open the grip on the back of the controller and turn the screw so that the left thumb is not self centering?
@@LAMB_SAUCE From what You describe, it seems You have something wrong, my guess is still the left analog stick not set up correctly (for manual flight You need to open the back, and turn the screw until the left analog is not self centering)
In other words, the analog when left at the bottom would be 0%, and only by moving it up, You get more power.
If You have it self centering (like it is out of the box, for people using the normal and sport mode)
Then the throtle is at 50% when centered, and You have to fight with it to get it to be less than 50%.
I'm 100% sure that if You did open the back, and change the stick tension of the left analog, so that it doesnt self center, You would have it work as it should. It's user error and not the device error.
IN SHORT:
Without changing the analog tension You have it self cetnering meaning that the throttle is at 50% all the time.
PS. I know becouse my first manual flight I did the same thing, but I knew before flying that You have to change it, I just didn't.
i bought one last week but the system cant connect to my phone, i think i have to return i sadly... :(
If someone can help me it would be appreciated.
I'm guessing You are trying to connect the system to Your phone with a cable ?
yes but its not working
@@SebastianDylag
Wasn't worth it 2 years ago but hey welcome to the club.
Thanks ! 😄
For 600 it is worth it.
Should I buy this for 999 USD ?
I’m thinking the same so far all videos I’ve seen was positive
That's not a bad price, might have to check if it doesn't sometimes go for bit cheaper.
But it's still a great drone if You are okay with it's weaker sides 😄
They need to just update the camera to the O3 and call it a day.
Didn't use the O3 but from what I have seen it seems like the camera on the Avata somewhat 🤔
DJI FPV with that camera setup would be much much better (for most it would make it usable without adding in a GoPro) 😄
@@SebastianDylag Absolutely. The DJI FPV's camera is really showing its age. I have both the FPV and Avata and it's almost a night and day difference. GoPro is still king, mounted the 11 black and 11 mini to both but don't feel comfortable with them on the top.
@@TomsPropertyCare I wouldn't be comfortable with go pro on Avata too 😅
But FPV did pretty well on our trip with a GoPro on it ! 😄
@@SebastianDylag I decased the 11 black for the Avata but I've been lazy and haven't soldered any wires to power it from the power board. I'm kind of waiting for the geprc 11 naked case parts and maybe 11 mini naked stuff.
Dzięki za komentarz ! 😀
(From flight time to low voltage errors etc.)
But everyone has their own opinion and Your welcome to make Your own video about DJI FPV 😄
Edit :
Also I fly with GoPro on it, so flight time is even shorter.
Can u pls increase the music-volume? I can still hear your voice.
Yeah sure, I will make sure that the next videos have the music as loud as possible for You ! 😄
Thanks for watching and Your comment !
@@SebastianDylag Glad to hear! :P
Nah, music was just way tooo loud. Still a great clip!
@@RTReview. I'm checking just now, seems like it's just okay on my headphones/laptop, but definitely too loud on my phone,

@@SebastianDylag ye, I experienced the same thing. But since I guess, that most of your viewers listen to you on their phones/laptopspeakers its just an input I can give you. :)
I have the same site for music and typically when I use one of their tracks I start off at -4 on the scale when doing the editing and sometimes have to go as high as -12 depending on what else I have going on in the video
Thanks for the vid! My head says I should pick up the Mini 3 Pro, but I have the opportunity to pick up a used DJI FPV set for £400. I'm so tempted!
Ohh the mini 3 pro is amazing !
Do You already have a traditional style of a drone ? Any other DJI drone?
If it's Your first drone or You don't have any other GPS drone then I would first go for the Mini 3 Pro (more useful and much more verity of shots)
On February 5th I will have a long form video about FPV vs Traditional drones , and on January 31st there will be a UA-cam Short about the same topic 😄
If it was up to me, I still think the Mini 3 Pro would be better to get started with (as the transition to FPV would be much much easier - the Normal and sport mode operate the same as on DJI Mini 3 Pro!)
You will get much more out of Mini 3 pro, for both photos, videos, longer flight times etc. But I won't lie, flying FPV for someone like me (or You) is amazing, it definitely is an incredible feeling.
For me it felt like the next step from DJI Mavic Air 2, and an addition, but if I wore to pick only one for travel and filmmaking I would take the Mavic Air 2 (or mini 3 pro in Your case)
The videos that will be up on my channel pretty soon will talk solely about this topic 😄
What?
What what ? 🤔

What an bullshit ..do you make an video over dji fpv or the go pro? Why would manny people use an go pro when we got an beautiful camera on the fpv 😅😂
I would much more prefer to have a bit less flight time with better picture quality.
For me the DJI FPV has okey camera, better then people made it out to be, but still if there is a way to get better footage.... Than why not 😉 at the end of the day everyone can make their own decision 😄
Because the gopro camera is much more better in low light conditions and has overall better options for a film maker.
its crap....
Why do You think so?
Useless comment.
I bought the combo 2nd hand last week for 700 euros, to date i now have 4 drones and batteries, both controllers and have spent exactly 1300 euros in total, now is a very good time to buy this drone, last 1 i bought was only 190 euros with battery and only 1 flight recorded! 2nd hand FTW!!!!
