I am a retired designer and I don’t go by trends. You need to decorate with what you love and how you use your home. I am glad you are doing this. I love open concept. A designer should never tell you how your house should look and they should be there to help you to use your home the way you want. It should never be designed to look like a magazine. Your home is a place to enjoy and feel comfortable. Thank you for doing this.
Love this video!!! Thank you! I too love cozy cottage/modern farmhouse! I am so tired of mid-century modern....!!! And yes love open concept!! Love you smile and laughter!!
My home is decorated in hand me downs & Salvation Army Special. My Dad and I wrestled old 1900 cabinets out of a old doctors office in Richmond Virginia..solid mahogany and I painted and put a back on them and I have been offered 1500 for one of the two...I surround myself with love and memories a jar of shells from the beach my kids gathered when little ...the huge dresser I built myself for my first walk in closet salvaged from old barn board it took 4 men to move it.its 8 feet long 4 feet high and now is in my condo living room. I have a painted over the brilliant colors a beach whitewash it its mixed with a cream color Italian sofa and old 100 year old prints and paintings hang on the walls rescued from flooding family homes near the James River..they make me smile and I am always surrounded by ones I love and memories that make me smile...trends can come and go but memories and history echos of children stomping down stairs or a headless Barbie in the cabinets remind me of my boys launching they're pesky baby sisters dolls into space on bottle rockets...hand blown glass from a trip to Williamsburg...a photo of a baby girl with her biggest bass caught at 6 years old with no front teeth..a photo of my grandfather in his naval uniform sits besides my sons in his naval uniform ...this is a home not a art deco museum piece..love and laughter live here and even though my babies are grown with busy adult lives no designer or decorator could understand my road or what makes me happy
Preach it sister! My husband and I have collected vintage/antique pieces since our first apartment in 1978 due to lack of funds! Now these items that are being remade, cheaply! You can still find so many great items if you just take the time to visit thrift and antique shops. We will always be shabby chic, farmhouse, vintage, etc. whatever you want to name it! All we know is that people love our home and tell us it feels very cozy but not overly filled with "stuff"! Love you and keep doing you and we will definitely keep watching for great tips :)
I love farmhouse style and yes I basically live on a small farm. I just decorate with what I love because I have to live and look at it everyday and don’t care what anyone else thinks
I love design trends as much as anyone but would go broken trying to keep up. I decorate with things I love and makes me happy. I try to make small updates on accessories. What makes me laugh is designers tell you how "in" something is then a few years later they tell you how "out" it is. 😁 Fun video!!
You go girl! I appreciate that you get that open concept is functional, especially with kids. We need to do what makes us happy and don't just jump on a trend wagon. Love it!!! Snarky is a fun word too. 😂🤣
I so agree with you. As you pointed out, the real reason for design change is the economy, to sell new products. When we put our hearts into what we decorate, it is representative of our lifestyles, loves and desires to make a happy, peaceful home, not a designers house! Thanks for your out of the box views!!!
@@poodlegirl55 our last build, we had white cabinets and stained the bar. This one was white cabinets with a blue island. I never got tired of the white.
So glad you addressed this. Have you noticed that all the "designers" design for a boujee lifestyle-- adults who sit around, carefully pairing their wine with exquisite charcuterie offerings. They don't design for kids, dogs, cats and roomfuls of comfortable friend gatherings. I love that distressed furniture makes us less worried about perfection-- more easy to live with.
I’m with you Leslie! I’m a greige kinda girl because I’m afraid of the commitment of colour, don’t want to be too TRENDY and I love that when the mood strikes, I can change out my throw blankets, pillows and accent decor relatively guilt free $$
We inspect newly constructed multimillion dollar houses. We are hardly designers but one thing it has taught me is not to follow trends. I enjoyed your video so much. I'm thinking of taking down the glass barn door on our master bath because I so miss being knocked out by the regular door while standing at my sink. I will say that it's a relief to find out that my non open-concept kitchen is coming back in style! We'd update our counter tops but then we'd have to update our cabinets and if we were going to do that then I'd have to take down the wall and rearrange the whole thing so maybe I can just wait the whole thing out. My friend is remodeling her kitchen and when she gave her preferences to the designed they said "tract home"! My advice was to pick what she loved because it was her home and she was paying for it. So, I love your home and you're decorating and you're so fun to watch...more than any stuffy decorator!
I agree with everything you said. I will hop on a trend train in a heartbeat, but I’ve learned to keep the expensive bones of my home true to my style. If I hear one more person tell us not to use fake florals and only have fresh flowers or live plants, I’m going to ask them when are they going to come take care of them for me. 😂 I absolutely love my open concept home. I looked for a new build with that design when we moved three yrs ago, because I was tired of being cut off from my family during holidays, when my boys came home. They are grown and in their own homes. We have to remember, if the stores and stylists didn’t keep us in a state of constant discontentment, they would be out of a job. I enjoy your channel so much.
Yes! This video was fun. I have never been able to afford trends and I have no decorating sense so I go with what feels good and works for me (gasp! I do NOT like open concept even though I appreciate its benefits). In spite of my lack of decorating skill people have always felt relaxed and comfortable in my hodge podge.
Omgosh!!! Thank you! I’ve watched some of those videos too! My house is very eclectic. I love love farmhouse. However, that is not who I am. But I still love watching farmhouse a lot because I love watching creative people make beautiful things. I love the southwestern vibe, old antiques, petrified wood and different minerals and gems. But I also love beautiful Victorian and industrial looks as well. So I really appreciate your video. We all don’t have to be alike🤎
I so agree with you, if we are all individual and unique we have different personalities and how we want to decorate our homes is for us to design, like you said it’s what we can afford.
I was a professional interior designer for years, and I completely agree with you. I won't even watch those "what's out" videos because they make me SNARKY, as you say! If you love it, it's perfect for you. If you've found a style that suits you, you may want to live with it your whole life, and not be a slave to so-called trends that come and go.
I just love your videos! You disagree so sweetly! 🥰 I will never give up my Boho style and dark greenish clay walls! I am also eclectic! I have old, new, inherited, vintage painted and modern. That’s what makes my home “my” home! I have never followed trends! I just collect my favorite things!
I am the mom with kids and I have a semi-open concept and I feel like it's the perfect balance. I have a living room at the front of the house that if the kitchen/dining/family room is a mess than I don't have to have it on display for all to see when they walk in my front door.
Yes I also agree with you. Your home should be the style and color and design what makes you and your family feel that warm, cozy place you want to be!
I just discovered farmhouse decor a year ago. My house is full of black/white/Gray, distressed items, shiplap, etc and it's absolutely beautiful!! More importantly, it makes me very happy!! I'm so glad you did this video! Also....I think most of the new trends are ugly! I wouldn't even consider decorating with some of that. And!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 who can afford to remodel, move or build a new house because the floor plan is out of style??? Geez! Having a roof over my head is super trendy and I'm going to stay in my farmhouse!!
I agree with you. What you love never goes out of style. My co-workers were transferred often, and being trendy definitely helped sell their homes. I have the benefit of staying in the same home for years. Thank you for doing this video.
I agree with you 💯. I love painting, decorating and changing my furniture around. I don't like distress furniture, however, is like you said basically, to each its own. Different strokes for different folks. Love it. Thank you for this video.
I totally agree with you 100%. I love farmhouse designs, and I don't think it's going out of style. One has to remember, the reason we have interior designers is to have them tell us what is old, so that we go out and buy new things. They are in cahoots with stores who make money, and whose sole purpose is to keep us buying things. If we don't keep buying, they don't make money!!!
I so agree ! As an older women I’m not easily persuaded 😅 our home is a new build (4 years old)designed by ourselves . I have white kitchen cabinets, open shelving , open concept floor plan , and a monochromic wall color. I never gave a thought if it was in style or not I just know what I love , and I’m still in love ! I hate clutter and lived in a house with room to room and hated it ! I was always penned in the kitchen while my family visited in the living room and I couldn’t see them 😖 Your spot on !
I loved this video. I have never been one to follow trends...whether it's home decor or clothing. I go with what I like and what's comfortable to me. Thanks for showing us that we are "normal" when we don't follow the trends.
I so agree with you. I used to try to keep up with trends...wallpaper etc. That was before I knew what "my" style was. Now I'm more confident in my choices. I always choose what I love! And so be it if it's not on trend, I don't really care. I'm more comfortable in my home when it reflects me and not some fancy fad. Thank you for this video. I love your videos. BTW. I'm 74 and finally learned awhile back that I'm the only one I have to please....at last!
I agree! We should always stay true to self regardless of styles and trends that come and go. Home should reflect the individual, their family, their likes and tastes, no matter what goes on in the world around us. We are the only ones that need to feel good in our space. Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! 💜
Loved this video and you are so right!! I decorate my house the way I love it and to me it is warm and cozy and beautiful. I recently moved to a brand new build in a different state, leaving a 95 year old Dutch Colonial, into an open concept farmhouse style but I love the open concept in the kitchen, living and sunroom area.... and a separate sitting and dining room which is still open but somewhat separate! And my walls are light creamy beige which I love and I have flowers and some chippy furniture mixed in with New pieces and a floral sofa and loveseat which I love and farmhouse tables. I adore a chippy painted family chair from the 1920s that proudly sits at my breakfast table along with two new spindle back chairs I use lace tablecloths and these are things I love. The one thing I did change was I gave up the Clutter! It makes me happy and I chose pieces I love and are special to me and you are right! That is what makes my home comfy cozy to me and I am the one who lives in it and I adore it. I say.... it's my house I love it and if you don't like my style, then just agree to disagree or don't come and visit! LOL I love watching your videos. Sending hugs and blessings
I agree with farmhouse is warm and cozy, I live in a real log home we built and it is rustic and elegant and very cozy. My home sits in a rural area of Wisconsin on eight acres. I like how you love to decorate with balance and details. I am a crafter and floral designer being creative is in my soul! I love your style you create in your own style and don’t follow what others design! ❤️
I am so glad you made this video! Thank you! I’ve been watching so many designer videos and I have committed 8 of the 10 deadly sins of decorating. However, everyone who has seen our house has fallen in love with it. The one designer I watch has a home that looks like a museum. I would rather live in a house that is warm and inviting and interesting. So, I came to the same conclusion you did-if you love it, it’s not “wrong.” Do what makes you happy!
Oh what a fun video. Just loved it. More people need to decorate with what they love, find new fun ways to work with what they already have, etc.... you have to be one of the most adorable and positive people on UA-cam. I am just getting caught up with some of my favorite channels. Thank you for such solid advice along with your great smile. 💗💗
I’m with you 100 percent. We just built a new home. We moved in December 10th. Still putting trim down lol but I’ve watched the same designers. I just laughed. I searched a timeless kitchen and timeless designs before we started our home. Everyone has an opinion that doesn’t mean they are correct. Thx for sharing this with us💕
I love everything you just finished saying. We will decorate according to our style, budget, and preference. Thank you so much sweetie for sharing all of these styles. Blessed Day.
If open concept is out dated and out of style then why do people keep doing it. I think ship lap is timeless. One more point ! Marie Condo says that if it doesn’t make you happy then out it goes. If you love it and it makes you happy then do it! Marie Condo says so❣️
Leslie, I totally agree with you. Designers make their living off of change whether it's decorating your home or your body. Ever notice that what's popular today is out next week. Hey they need to constantly make changes to keep making money. Half the stuff they come up with, I don't care for. I love a warm cozy home and the neutrals are it for me too! I say, decorate your home with what you love, that is what makes our homes special and not cookie cutter. Leslie, your so smart, but of course you already know that. Keep up what your doing, you have a lot of people that follow YOU for your ideas! Hugs from Texas. ❤️🇨🇱
When my ex’s parents passed away everyone that was close to them got to keep things they loved from their home. I got the dining set I painted it & completely made it over my kids are in love with it & they said it makes them happy when they see it. I love it... it’s at least 20 years old & I’m keeping it 😁
I totally agree! I loved farmhouse before it was called farmhouse. I used to call it rusty comfortable! And that's been my style for 25 years. The only thing that's changed is the type of decorating knick knacks and accents I use. No more geese or hearts, lol. Now it's industrial bits and pieces!
I just fund your channel and I have to say you are the only “designer”on youtube I can relate to, keeping it real and fun! Thank you for not being pretentious and rude, so many snooty know it all designers telling everyone farmhouse is tacky I’m not all farmhouse but I love it and I would if I could, again your a breath of fresh air 🥰
just now watching this and totally agree with you! when I really like something I like to keep it. This encourages me to not worry about being out of style!
I just moved into a new home 2019. It is total Open concept. I have a ton of windows. Gray walls and all white woodwork and white cabinets. I love Red! I agree with you. I do what I like and not what is on trend. I have colored cabinets that I have purchased at thrift stores and antiques stores. I have refurbished them. I just love it. 🙂♥️
I totally agree with your statements about style. If it is something you love in your home, it makes you happy then it is perfect. Trends are great for a few things here and there but to follow to them exclusively would cost us all a fortune that few of us have.
Thank you for confirming that your home should be all about what makes you happy. You are spot on with your comments and I totally agree with every point you made. This is why you are my favorite!
Love this video!!! Why do people feel they have to go with the “in” thing. Don’t feel pressured into something you don’t like. Go with what makes you happy AND fits your budget.
I so much agree. Why should we give in to the pressure to being “in style” if it’s not what we love? I’ve never been a trend follower myself. I like what I like...doesn’t really matter if others don’t like it.
I agree with you totally, decorate the way You want to and what you like! I love my white kitchen and my high ceilings and open concept! Keep up the good work!
I think it’s ok for designers to talk about trends. They are constantly evolving and changing. That’s always been the case with fashion as well. Just like as we age, we have to evolve as well. Styles do tend to go out and become dated. I think if designers are going to communicate, what they think is tacky or on the way out, they need to do it in a way that is inspiring to a person’s style. They could talk about a transitional style farmhouse that brings in elements of trends to modernize a farmhouse space. It’s all in the communication. There is really inexpensive ways to use what you have and change the space completely by eliminating some things and bringing in some trendy things with decor. That’s the fun part about design! I think shiplap and barn doors are out for awhile and likely make real designers shudder as does fake flowers, fake plants and clutter. But how many people in the world actually hire Nate Berkus. Lol So just do you everyone and enjoy your home.
I agree. Just redid my home and an add on, and trying to decorate with what’s considered “in” was stressing me out. Finally decided I’d just do what I like and am so much more happy. Same with the way I dress or my hairstyle. I have daughters who try to keep me stylish, but I finally realized, even if what I like is “out”, I gotta do what makes me happy, including big earrings, which I mentioned before with you. 😄
(Not my pic, BTW) My daughter helps me a lot, too, which I appreciate. I've learned that it can be helpful to know "what's on trend" in both dress and decor - THEN decide. For example, I bought a big necklace, that I liked but not loved - because it was an easy way to "freshen my look." NOW I hear they are totally out - a great excuse to give it to someone who may love it.
Loved this ❤ I totally agree with you! Your home is your personality and definitely your happy place and should always reflect what you love! Love your channel ❤
Every look is beautiful, as long as it’s your style you love! I still love Shabby chic, French country and Tuscany if someone loves it and styles it all beautifully. Being off the current trend is refreshing to see- we are all different!
I agree , decorate your home with what brings up us joy, our homes should reflect our personalities. Decorate with what we love not for someone else . ❤️
I loved this video. You feel the same as I do. I don’t even listen to designers. I do what I want and I love my home. What’s weird to me is J Gaines is the first barn door designer I saw And now she says no they are out of date ?....Again I loved how “snarky” you were. I totally agree. Love your videos
Yep I have said that numerous times when "they" think is out and what is trending! Trends are what is out, personal preference is in. Neutral colors are great for big bulk items and walls and like u said, just adding and changing colors for seasonal decorating is how I roll😊👏
Love this video! Kudos to you for doing this video. I am an influencer as well, and would never tell someone what to put in their homes. Like your pinned comment stated, true designers will never tell you what you should put in your home. They will try and help you navigate through the process to make your home a space that is reflective of you. I decorate with things that I love, and it doesn't matter if no one else likes it or not. I've been contemplating doing a video like this myself. I also enjoy your content. Have a great day! 😊
Love the video- you tell em ‘sista’! I am in the process of ‘converting’ my home into the French farmhouse ( I call it ‘refined rustic’ lol) I’ve always wanted... the elegant urban components mixed with French provincial elements... I don’t know how else to express it But to say I am starting to feel like I can breathe ... as everywhere I turn I am seeing an aesthetic that is authentic to me. Lockdown in the Pandemic taught me what are we waiting for? Life is to short to be surrounded by anything that doesn’t make your heart sing 🎶❤️. Blessings to you and your husband. You are the sweetest pair.
Amen sister we can fix our home the way we want to never have anyone tell you what and how to decorate your home, besides there’s always going to be farmhouse whether it’s in the city or not thank you for sharing your thoughts. Enjoy!🌸👍😀
You are spot on. Why do people feel the need to down what other ppl enjoy.. human tendency, I guess. Decorate your home, with what you love.. thanks for sharing this video.
White kitchens are timeless and open concept is a must for families! I also have gray walls... and change pillow covers and other decorative items for trends. Love your style!
another great video i never go by trends just artistic flare each seasons something different that always makes me smile especially at christmas love your outfit you always do such fun decorating love open concept grey tones my favourite
Loved this video Leslie . I do-not do trends . As crazy as this might sound but i base my redoing a room and get inspired by choosing curtains . I Also have 1 focal wall in Med gray and browns in my living room . Love nautical I bought a bar that has a 20 gallon long fish tank but the thing I loved most is the top Is a hatch over with a porthole from an old ship . Oh Leslie I love love love decorating just like you . it makes me happy . And lastly been manager in retail for many years and only store that customers were so happy was home decorating stores lol 🌻🌻🌻
Leslie, I’ll take your “snarkiness” anyday! I agree with you on most points but I have to say I’m happy to hear that beige and grey are not going to be as popular anymore. Living in the Pacific NW, we have more than enough grey outside, no need to bring it inside too. Your house is beautiful tho.
Personal taste!! So loved this video!! I really like the warmer tones...I love a neutral wall and then I throw in that paprika and animal print! (Small doses) I love the warmth of my antiques and I’m thrilled by lovely warm creamy, taupey blankets!! Add some big happy plants and I’m in Heaven!!
1. Farmhouse - I live on a farm! LOL And as long as you make your sliding barn door a good 4 - 6 inches bigger then your bathroom door, you will have plenty of privacy! 2. White Kitchens - I think some white in a kitchen is great, but white, cabinets, white counter, and white backsplash is just too stark. 3. Shiplap - Love shiplap/wood treatments for walls. 4. Rustic paint - I like it as long as it is not every piece. I have several really old, original pieces that have worn paint. Love them. 5. Open concept - Just makes the space look bigger. Plus better for entertaining and families. 6. All gray - Ok, this one I agree with. I think gray is depressing. Plus I love color! And when I go neutral, go beige/tans. But really, I love my home and think it looks great! If people don't like it, well, they don't live here so they don't have to like it! Front door goes both ways, so see yourself out! Love your house!
You hit the nail on the head Leslie. Why let someone tell you what your home needs to look like because what you have is outdated? I am a person who likes several different decor styles. Makes it so hard to keep the decor train on the tracks. Lol! Muted neutral tones are the most calming to me, and I definitely want to to be relaxed and calm in my home. Thank you for always encouraging us sweet friend. 🌸
I agree with you one hundred percent! Is your home and decorated The way you like it, the color that you like and styles ! I love the farm style for my family room kitchen! But my living room is totally different Is all white classy elegant! ! And I love it! My husband likes it also ! I am also maximal it feels cozy warm inviting to me ! I love how you decorate your tablescape and everything! Other people like to decorate with 3 things that’s fine, I love Liz decorate for all seasons, the little Blue Fly and others ! I don’t watch any of the designers , They are trying to change who you are! I don’t go for that ! God bless you! Love Vicky !
I agree. My home is alot of sentimental furniture from grand parents. My kids friends would always say my house felt homie. It may not be stylish but it is clean and clutter free.
I’m right there with you!! Decorate in a way that makes YOU happy!! I’m too old and not interested enough in trying to keep up with the joneses decorator too! I think it’s fun to add a splash of color or a new piece every once and again. You save money and enjoy what you have. ☀️Great Video!
I agree with you..... I have always had my own design regardless what others had. Because I figured I am the one who has to live with it! Thanks for sharing... I love your blogs.
I agree. I never follow trends, use what is "me". It's funny how the other " designers" used that trend then jump on the bandwagon NOT to use!🙄🙄 you are correct !!😍
Brava! Scandinavians have been living with neutrals forever and their homes are lovely. Update with a new piece of furniture now and then and switch out layering textiles and forget the rest. I will say there is one trend I'm ready to say goodbye to and that's all the signs in homes. One is enough. Loved the snark!
I totally agree with you 100 percent...I love my own decorating style and am not influenced about what's 'in'...I just love you as a person as well....you're so relatable, the best wife ever, you're beautiful inside and out ,so much talent PLUS you love the Lord ....keep up the good work. I think you're amazing!!
I agree with you... EVERYONE should please themself! We must all realize that DISSATISFACTION with what one has and /or the desire for change for the new/latest look, fuels the quick exchange of loads of money from our bank account to ...”theirs”! THAT simple fact drives far more influence that affects us than anything else. Of course, we all get tired of things/styles, and things do wear out. But we should NOT allow the “experts” to determine when, if, and the direction our home should go regarding style and function unless it is TRULY what makes our heart sing... and will continue to do so for a number of years, regardless of the new trends that WILL continue to come! And of course, many ...most of us simply will never be able to redo our homes anywhere nearly as often as it is generally implied we “should” do so! Contentment with what we have is often a good thing to cultivate! From time to time, a bit of creativity, some hard work, and just a couple of bucks can often spruce the place up quite nicely! Everything does not have to fit into the “latest and greatest” to achieve a warm, happy, charming, and comfortably stylish home. Nor does achieving the look we most admire necessarily have to send us permanently to the poor house. Thanks Leslie, for such a well timed video!
I could care less about what designers say but that is my southern snarkiness. I like cozy, neutral paints with pops of color and rugs I can change when I het bored. BLESS THEIR HEARTS!!!

You are welcome.
My husband and I are in the market for a new home ( in California). The open concept seems to be on all of the houses. I like it.
Love this video!!! Thank you! I too love cozy cottage/modern farmhouse! I am so tired of mid-century modern....!!! And yes love open concept!! Love you smile and laughter!!
My house is farmhouse style and everyone that comes in it talks about how homey and cozy it is. One person even said it just feels like love. ❤️
That’s awesome 👏
Exactly ppl... 😒I like a lot of the farmhouse looks. It does look like love 🥰
@@Jaque1961 Well, excuse me Ms. Perfect!

Love your comment!! I bet your home is lovely and inviting.
I decorate with what feels good to me. Currently that is modern farmhouse.
Oh, I so agree! If it makes you happy, then so be it!

I could never afford to be trendy.
I so agree with you. As you pointed out, the real reason for design change is the economy, to sell new products.
Hey...if we have all like the same thing it would be a boring world! Our homes should reflect our personalities and what makes us happy.
I so agree with you, if we are all individual and unique we have different personalities and how we want to decorate our homes is for us to design, like you said it’s what we can afford.
Totally agree!!! 😍❤️
I’m glad I’m not the only one they make snarky 😂 ❤️
Open concept is my home and I love it because I can keep an eye on my grands...🙂
Agreed! ❤️
I've always used the concept of only filling my house with things i absolutely love. Funny. I do white kitchen, barn doors, and country farm decor!
Love it! 👏😍
Apparently I'm gonna do everything that is not on trend this year! Lmao!
Same!❤
@@victoriajohnson3034 I'm loving the comments here...😄
I just love your videos!
So snarky!
❤️
I just discovered farmhouse decor a year ago. My house is full of black/white/Gray, distressed items, shiplap, etc and it's absolutely beautiful!! More importantly, it makes me very happy!! I'm so glad you did this video! Also....I think most of the new trends are ugly! I wouldn't even consider decorating with some of that. And!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 who can afford to remodel, move or build a new house because the floor plan is out of style??? Geez! Having a roof over my head is super trendy and I'm going to stay in my farmhouse!!
👏👏👏 that’s awesome!!! Your house sounds gorgeous!!!
Thank you 😊 your home sounds beautiful ❤️
I agree. Do what makes you happy
Good video! You are right about the kitchen and trends, most people do not have the money to redecorate every time something goes out of "style".
I agree! We should always stay true to self regardless of styles and trends that come and go. Home should reflect the individual, their family, their likes and tastes, no matter what goes on in the world around us. We are the only ones that need to feel good in our space. Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! 💜
I agree, it's individual tastes! Keeping a clean house never goes out of style, let them talk about that!!
Good point!!!
LOL
I love watching your videos. Sending hugs and blessings
I absolutely agree!!!
Decorate your home, how you like, not what's in trend!!!
You go...girl!!!
😊😁😀🙌👍
I love open concept and I don’t have small children. I like the fact that we can talk with company and prepare at the same time.
I even heard that granite counter tops are out now! I love love mine!!!! And I love gray tones!!!
I love the open concept....and all the other "outdated decor"! And as soon as I come across a chunk of money, I want all of these!!!!
Thank you for not being pretentious and rude, so many snooty know it all designers telling everyone farmhouse is tacky
I’m not all farmhouse but I love it and I would if I could, again your a breath of fresh air 🥰
Thank you so much 😊 I’m so happy you found my channel!
just now watching this and totally agree with you! when I really like something I like to keep it. This encourages me to not worry about being out of style!
I just moved into a new home 2019. It is total
Open concept. I have a ton of windows. Gray walls and all white woodwork and white cabinets. I love Red! I agree with you. I do what I like and not what is on trend. I have colored cabinets that I have purchased at thrift stores and antiques stores. I have refurbished them. I just love it. 🙂♥️
Oh, I agree with you! Snark on!!! Thanks for keeping us informed:) We need to update our kitchen & it will be a 1 & done!
Totally agree!!! 👏👏👏
I agree✅
I so much agree. Why should we give in to the pressure to being “in style” if it’s not what we love? I’ve never been a trend follower myself. I like what I like...doesn’t really matter if others don’t like it.
@@ksharpe8137 well said✅
What makes u feel good and makes ur home a happy place is the right color
I love your dogwood earrings! My apartment is mostly woody, I seem to just love wooden furniture in darker tones. My favorite style is craftsman.
I agree with you totally, decorate the way You want to and what you like! I love my white kitchen and my high ceilings and open concept! Keep up the good work!
You are spot on! Hooray for honesty! And white kitchens!!!❤️❤️❤️
I, 100% agree with you. I decorate with the things I love and that I’m drawn too! You go girl!!!😊
I have always been the type that decorates with what I like regardless if it was in style 40 yrs ago or not lol
I have to agree with you, I decorate with what makes ME happy!
I'm so glad you brought this up. I love my style and everything in my home.
Do you want to be on trend or do you want to be happy? I want to be HAPPY! :)
I love my open concept house! You are the only decorator I enjoy watching because you are so positive!
Thank you so much 😊
Yep I have said that numerous times when "they" think is out and what is trending!
Thank you 😊
another great video i never go by trends just artistic flare each seasons something different that always makes me smile especially at christmas love your outfit you always do such fun decorating love open concept grey tones my favourite
Great video! Love farmhouse decor. I also love to add old furniture with it.
Loved this video Leslie . I
do-not do trends .
It's definitely hard to not be happy in a home decor store thats for sure! LOL 😂💖 Decorating is my happy place! 😊 So glad you loved the video!
Anytime! You sound so much like me with loving all the different decor styles! I don't think I could ever pick just one! 😊💖
I agree with you one hundred percent! Is your home and decorated
The way you like it, the color that you like and styles ! I love the farm style for my family room kitchen!
But my living room is totally different
Is all white classy elegant! ! And I love it! My husband likes it also !
I am also maximal it feels cozy warm inviting to me ! I love how you decorate your tablescape and everything! Other people like to decorate with 3 things that’s fine,
I love Liz decorate for all seasons, the little Blue Fly and others !
I don’t watch any of the designers ,
They are trying to change who you are!
Thank you 😊
I agree with you.....
Even when you are trying to be snarky you are still sweet and adorable. SO happy I found your Chanel! And Jason is hilarious!
We must all realize that DISSATISFACTION with what one has and /or the desire for change for the new/latest look,
fuels the quick exchange of loads of money from our bank account to ...”theirs”!
You're welcome! Thank you so much for watching and enjoying the video! 😊
I could care less about what designers say but that is my southern snarkiness. I like cozy, neutral paints with pops of color and rugs I can change when I het bored. BLESS THEIR HEARTS!!!
I loved this video, Leslie! You are so gifted in decorating, that I’ll take your opinion anytime! I love all the trends you mentioned.
