Looks gorgeous Leslie. Lots of hard work but so worth it. I’d paint the plug receptacles the same colour of the walls so they disappear, I do that everywhere in my home. Your basement looks absolutely beautiful, love the different sitting areas. 🥰 Great job. 🙋🏼♀️🇨🇦

Leslie, everything looks amazing. If you paint the switches to hide them, use a sharpie marker to write colours of paint inside, this will remind you if you need to touch up the walls at a much later date ❤

Your basement is lovely! For your cords try bundling the excess behind the lamp leg and running cord to plug just under the white ledge using cord clips. Command Hooks makes clear ones.

What a tribute to Jason and his precious family and friends! To Mikayla, I want to say I know what it's like to live many miles away from your dad, as he and your mom negotiate the changes. It has to be so much harder because of his young age. I was raised in Pensacola, Fl, and moved to North Carolina in my early 20's. We saw them often, but I still wasn't able to be there all the time, and flew back and forth frequently. Honestly, the best blessings you can bring are the calls and facetiming. To hear your sweet voice is the salve they both need. Kelsie, what a blessing that you are close by. The trips you took and all of the adventures will be sweet stories to share with your little one. Remember, your dad lives on in you! I will be praying for both of you girls.
My husband has Parkinson's and I see the fatigue set in during the afternoon of every day. His neurologist explained the type of fatigue felt by patients with these types of cognitive issues is one we cannot fathom. Thank you, Leslie, for sharing your life with us. You can't know what a gift it is for me. God bless you.

everything turned out so nice. Love the blue with the woods. For that awful plug high on the wall... first I would paint it the same color as the wall so it would not standout so much... then I would take the cord from the lamp, add an extension cord and run it behind the mirror to plug in the other side with the other lamp , eliminating the cord up high on the wall.

WOW!!! That looks like a million bucks! I absolutely LOVE it! Everything turned out fantastic! If you don't care for the bar stools you could always paint them and then recover the seats in a navy fabric. It's super easy to unscrew the tops and then staple gun your new fabric to them and then just screw them back on to the legs!
So cozy and fun!!🍿🍷🪴💖 Love your paint color and furniture choice. Grandkids are going to Love it! You could paint the stools until you find exactly what you are looking for. Spray paint is a good quick fix. Enjoy!

Looks so nice! A tip for hiding cords is using double sided tape and taping to back of console table along the top of back of table and along the back of floor lamps and along the wall.

I would paint white and distress the bar stools, then reupholster/recover the seats in a fabric tying in the blue hues. Miracles happen with a staple gun.

One paper thing I discovered a while back… newspapers always have roll ends that they will sell. They run anywhere from 2$ to 5$ and work for just about anything. Even a place for grandkids to draw and do their crafts, etc. and they don’t get the area messed up.

Oh my it’s just gorgeous. You are amazing and love the ideas of using the tape and paper to guide you on the spacing of furniture and pictures as that saves so much later.
Love, love, love the arched window. I would hang it above the console table, to line up with the RH edge (that’s not symmetrical but it draws the eye up and creates a faux window which psychologically gives a sense of looking outside).

Put tape on the cord behind the console table to hid cord. Tape it to the back of the console so it doesn’t droop. Pick your tape. Duct tape, painter’s tape.
Leslie those barstools would be so easy to cover the seats and paint the wood if your not liking that. Seems like they are really good quality. Great video

....I love the chairs , and the rug, everything looks wonderful. The only thing I feel about " the little table between the chairs" , is that it's comfortable to have a place to set a beverage or book, without everyone using the ottoman as a place to set down a beverage, etc. My Grandmother said that every place to sit should have a table of some kind, ... 🙂😊
