The SEM cap color seemed a bit off from the gray color of my 2006 Lexus LX470 steering wheel; however, the color when applied was a perfect match and the wheel now looks like new. Thanks for the video.
Dude, I have a face for radio so don't feel like you don't look good enough for a UA-cam video!!! Great videos. I have two 4Runners and a 96 Lexus/Land Cruiser. The wheel on the Cruiser is really bad and it is the first thing you see when you look inside. Thanks for this video.
If anyone else is looking for another cheap OEM Toyota wheel for their 3rd gen 4Runner(4 spoke design), the first gen Sienna wheels are a direct swap. Your airbag will install right over and they are dime a dozen at pick and pulls for around $20.
There is a process where they combinesuper glue and baking soda to fill, build and repair things.. I dunno if that could be adaptable to steering wheels or not.
Nice work, brother. The only hangup I have in doing the same thing is that I don't want to remove the steering wheel from the car to do this. Still searching for the way to restore without removing it from the car.
The best way is to go through a junkyard but they won’t sell you the airbag for liability issues. If you look in the description of the video I left an Instagram user where I purchased mine from.
Unfortunately I don’t, but if you go through a company called Viper Products, there dies and pains are used by professionals so if you’re worried about longevity, I would check them out.
Dude, you saved me a lot of money by not replacing it. I'm pretty sure I can tackle this process. Thanks!
Great video! Thank You 👍👍
Thanks for the non-bias guide it was super helpful for me

Looks great! I will be doing this to my tundra and Avalon

Dude thank you so much.
Great result!
Thanks, my wheel is a disaster, with your information. I'll be doing mine in place (wish me luck!)
Great documentation!
Can you go to an auto body shop to have this done?
Great vid. Will more than likely try this. Thanks!
I noticed you used gloss instead of satin. Did you consider satin? Yours does look good.

Thanks buddy for the tip!
10 months, how’s it holding up??
There are special leather repair fillers that work better then superglue, these can then be modeled into shape with a modeling knife
Looks awesome! Do you have to remove your steering wheel to do this? If so do you know how hard is it remove a steering wheel from a 2005 Lexus GX470?
in other videos they spray the paint covering the dashboard with paper to avoid removing the steering wheel
Great job…I wanted to see the finished product 😢

Nice video, would be great if You could make them shorter, like 2 minutes, focus only on key points!

Same here. ua-cam.com/video/jL7KQTL4mos/v-deo.html
May be a bad idea with the airbag in the steering wheel. I have heard of the airbag getting blown when people do that.
Mask everything off with newspaper
Whats the best way to source a steering wheel with airbag?

What sand paper did u used? Or which one?
Mix between 600 and 1000. If you have cracks in the wooden portion use thin CA glue to fill in the gaps better.
Do you know anyone who has done this and how long it lasts?

Do you know if the airbag from a '99-'02 4Runner (4 spoke steering wheel) fit in this Lexus woodgrain steering wheel?
Does not fit iirc.
@@tm55555 Thank you for the info
