A frustrated office worker discovers that he is the son of a professional assassin, and that he shares his father's superhuman killing abilities.
Hey remember when Mythbusters took one look at this scene and said: "There's no way in hell this is possible but let's bust it anyway?"
Lol my teacher showed that episode in class
I think that’s the whole point. It’s entertainment 🤣
yeah but then they couldn't and it turned out to be real. absolutely wild
Legend has it that the bullet is still circling the room till this day. 😌
i doubt it, gotta run out of energy at some point.
@@feralbigdog Unless the ghosts in that room give the bullets energy :D
This movie is a great example of how ignoring the source material doesn’t always make a bad movie if the writers and directors put some effort into it
Probably one of the very few times - if not the singular time - that I see Angelina Jolie's character die. I had to admit, that sort of surprised me at the time.
One of the few roles where I actually enjoyed her acting. She is not bad in most movies but she is not great either. Putting the movie's sillyness aside, she did an amazing job with her character.
Wesley could’ve made the argument that their name came up only after Sloans did.
Fate wanted them dead only because they were going Sloans dirty business. They could redeem themselves if they got rid of Sloan.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
While that would've been a good argument to bring up, there's only one thing: we don't know for sure if Sloan's name came up before their's.
Now I 100% believe that Sloan is responsible for dooming all of them because he saw his name come up, but it could've turned out that Sloan had seen everyone else's names come up, and refused to do it because he became attached to the Fraternity members. Then fate punished him by putting his name in the kill order.
Just an interesting thought that would've made the whole dilemma a bit more juicy. But, yeah. My money does go to Sloan's selfishness, getting him and his followers doomed.
I don't think it will work because if the machine gave out your name, the verdict is final and not appealable
@@Smyth47466 A zealot like Fox might not accept that excuse but the others could be reasoned to compromise.
if you think about it sloan's kill order from fate is an example of the chicken or the egg paradox. fate probably wanted sloan dead cause it thought sloan would betray the code but at the same time giving that kill order is what caused sloan to betray the code in the first place.
It was mistake allowing only Sloan to interpret the targets.
Good theory 👏
3:49 - Morgan Freeman swearing will always be hilarious.
Fox was a believer to the very end
Loved this movie!
Ive owned various guns over the past decade. None of the make that cool ka-click sound when I present them at a target :-(
It’s been awhile, but wasn’t the premise that there were worms that were spelling names and these people just decided to kill those people?
Yeah pretty much, there was some ancient fraternity that names were being woven into fabrics and they were meant to kill them as “fate” deemed it so
It was a loom.
The most realistic scene in Hollywood.........
so is it like a magic bullet too? cus even if she could curve it wouldnt it lose a lot of energy and trajectory after even like ONE person? pretty sure skull bone is pretty dense but now idk lol
Absolutely, but it also does somewhat depend on the caliber of the bullet, bc the larger the bullet, the more mass, and therefore, the further it can penetrate. And it does also depend on where the bullet hits, bc the bone that covers the temple is actually very thin, compared to the rest of the skull.
However, even if you took out the bending bullet part, it still wouldn’t work, either bc of a lack of force, or because gravity would eventually pull the bullet down, and thus ruining a kill shot (this is also why snipers tend to have to aim much higher than their actual target, to account for gravity.)
@@anjelica948 ah
see all this physics and technical stuff lol, im as good as lost without you explaining it lol. thank you!🤘😅
@@ACatofFashionableAttire You’re welcome ☺️
They are magic bullets to do the bending thing in the first place. The whole premise of bending the bullet path is bullshit physics so why not that too?
@@John_Ridley With that logic, it's hard to justify doing anything that doesn't make sense in our respective reality and its rules
Various fiction creations, especially like this one operate with a different set of rules for their universe obviously. However, I believe it's a spectrum as opposed to just being black and white. Take something seen as magical like a person being able to light things on fire with their mind. You don't HAVE to try and explain that since(to my knowledge at least), humans just cannot do that whatsoever. And you might think it's pointless to make up a reason for it.
Personally though, I find it more interesting to say.. that the "fire person" creates fire with telekinesis; he or she uses telekinesis to vibrate molecules at a rapid speed which can light certain objects on fire. It makes at least a little sense right? Of course, it's a matter of where you draw the line right? Because now you might ask "why does this person know how to move things with their mind?" and you have a whole new dilemma/opportunity on your hands.
I just personally think it's more entertaining to explore the properties of what makes the magic possible, WITHIN the confines of the reality the creator has made for themselves and the audience. Despite it not being possible within the confines of our reality.
wild! james and angelina havent aged a day!
Morgan Freeman has been an old man for decades
You know that's not true. They look great for people their age.
Light bends around a black hole.. and bullets do bend due to gravity. If you're in a desert and you fire your gun in any direction. The bullet doesn't go on forever. It eventually falls to the ground (bends down)
lol
Interesting
The bravity bends their trajectory DOWN, like with any ibject. To bend it to the side, so that it makes a full circle is impossible
This is nowt I did same thing with double people, only a derringer and I was blindfolded fighting John wick, so yano not that good 🙄
*"The wolves rule, not the sheep"*. Actually those giant livestock protection dogs rule. That's what the "assassins of fate" were supposed to be, but Sloan made them into wolves by converting the fraternity into standard for-hire hitmen.
Neither wolves nor sheep or “livestock protection dogs” rule. Men do
But physics….
overrated.
She can move quick enough to throw the gun before the bullet comes back around but not get out the way.
You missed the whole fucking point xD
Lol intentional.
Omfg
My #1 most hated movie. Its so stupid and unrealistic. If it were X men, fine. But this is based in reality and he gets tortured for awhile and then he can curve bullets? So fuckin stupid
It's based on a comic and anyways all movies are unrealistic it's just entertainment, even things based on a true story have things that didn't really happen. Not a good idea to compare movies to reality, just shut off your brain and enjoy.
And the worm printer isn't?
Because realism is the main factor for a movie about magic loom and a cult that follows it, right?
Angelina Jolie scares the crap out of me. She just reeks of all the red flags associated with cluster B personality disorders like NPD and BPD. How messed up is that that 2 of his kid is removing his last name. And so, the cycle goes on from Angelina’s dad now passed on to her daughter. Good going
Angelina is a 'he' and her father is a 'she'? You should consider being an English teacher with those language skills of yours🤣🤣
