I use 10lb braid bc I have one multi species rod which is that and my catfish rod with 20lb braid both rods are perfect and I catch unlimited fish🤝🏾 find what works for youuuuuu Anglers
When you are teasing crappie out of brush, timber or rip rap you want just heavy enough line that you can straighten out your light wire jig hooks if you hang em up. I use 10 lb maxima chameleon, i would say its comperable to 15lb big game as far as strength
I use 10# braid because of the heavy brushpiles I fish. I run the braid to a 12# mono leader, and 90% of the time if I do get hung up, it breaks at the mono so I’m not re Riggin my whole rig back up, just leader and hook.
No. You take your BIC lighter and take the temper out of only the bend of the hook, so when ya snag up, ya just pull it out...hook straightens out and you'll probably loose your minnow, but you won't disturb the school. Resend, rebait, and get back in there!
Yes sir. I use braid because we fish heavy structure in Texas. I also use that mono leader so when I get hung up in the brush, only the mono leader breaks off. And I have to re tie my mono leader and hook. Not my whole slip cork setup. It works. Go watch a video or two.
@@Outlawdllc u must of took a lil bit of everything growing up. Sorry it got u so upset, to hear someone using a braid for crappie is unheard of but then again I'm not from Texas n also if ur not good with yo aim then I don't recommend a gun. 😂
You must be from up north lol I get this all the time. I am fishing heavy brush piles. If I use 4 pound line I’m breaking off every time I get hung up. Sorry no 4 pound line will not work.
Lol I actually use 10# braid with mono leader. you must live up north. We fish heavy structure in Texas, brushpiles, stumps log jams etc. if I used 4-6 pound mono I would break off every single time I got hung up!
8 lb braid and 4 lb mono or fluorocarbon leader. No need for video game on a fishing boat! Learn how to use your side imaging and leave the video games at the house!
This particular double rig jig, is a killer!🔥 Thanks for sharing this important knowledge. Whether is soft plastics or live bait..
Where is that place at?

Damn that’s a heavy line for crappies I don’t use pass 4 pound test for Pan fish
I am fishing heavy brush piles. If I used 4-10 mono I would break off every time I got hung up. Nobody wants to do that
@@903fishingyou would catch more fish if you used lighter line.
@@Willford23crappie aren’t line shy.
Crappie aren’t like shy
@nickolashogan4992 they sure aren’t
Thanks pal!… will be trying it out
Hit a PB and Snagged 8 bass in 90 min today! Happy fishing brotha.
Sounds great
damn.. up here 6 lb is heavy for pan and perch..
Here in Texas we fish heavy structure. Lots of braid and heavy mono leaders being used.
I like Pro Angler rods as well
That super grip tho
The most I use is 6 pound test
Not in Texas fishing heavy brushpiles. Break off every time
Thanks
Nice video. I also just found your cool channel 😊
Hell ya

My boy Caleb out here tearin em up
What's the brand of the rod? I think I missed it lol
Man I'm liking the reels
Do NOT like front drag reels..
Some heavy lines for crappie. I prefer 2-4 lb line.
I would never sue 2-4 pound mono on heavy brush piles. I would break off every time I got hung up!
@@903fishing has never been an issue for me. Even with my spider rig with my rods. All 2-4 lb lines.
Are you fishing in Illinois EVER? If not, what state(s) or state are you fishing in?
I am in TEXAS!
Why so heavy line ?
Why is he using such heavy line i dont go over 6 pound for crappie 8 pound for walleye and 20 pound for pike and musky
I am using heavy line because I am fishing heavy brush 95% of the time. Use 6 pound mono and you lose your whole rig every time you get hung up. Lol
Where is the video?
I use a trout rod n catch huge crappie
Richard Gene. 😂
And i always hook my minnows though the mouth and into a nostril
When he said he got 10lbs braid on the reel haha

@@903fishing didn't know the crappie is that big in Texas. Here in Cali is about license plate size over the summer.

Did you go through the gill and them through the back on the minnow?
Yes sir! That’s it!
Hey Caleb what reel is that?
Don’t use them anymore. But it’s the yumoshi
Which fish can u pan fry
Where is the link to the vid? Thanks
What video?
You mentioned it on the short vidio😢
Caleb, is that reel a Yushimo ? It looks like the one I have seen on the TEMU site.
I don’t use these anymore. I use Piscifun.com reels. Way better quality. Use code 903fish15 to save you 15%
I know about the Pisicifun reels. I have 16 of them.
Where is that place Located?
Where are you located in Texas?
North east Texas. 903 area code
How long is your 12lb mono leader?
Usually 8-10 inches
For one you hook a min..that way its dead b4 it hits the water.the set up is to heavy for crappie fishing
That’s your opinion. Check out my channel and see if it’s “too heavy” not for Texas crappie fishing
what size hook and is the floater 1 and 1/2 inch?
Size 2/0 Aberdeen. And yes 1.5 Comal slip cork!
4lb is all you need

How do I unsubscribe?!!
The same way you subscribed I guess. Thanks
12lb mono?!
As the leader lol you will really freak out about the 10# braid. Fishing heavy brush piles. Gotta have it it in Texas.
Dude what is that reverse botched abortion of a knot on the bait hook ?????
😂😂😂😂 a knot that catches fish!
Why use 10# when you aren't gonna get 10# crappie. Use 4 to 6 at most
Lol I actually use 10# braid with mono leader. you must live up north. We fish heavy structure in Texas, brushpiles, stumps log jams etc. if I used 4-6 pound mono I would break off every single time I got hung up!
@903 Fishing I fish heavy structure as well and have very little hang up because I have better control with lighter line.
Is it necessary 12lb leader ?
12# mono leader. Yes if I get hung up in the brush, that leader will break off and all you have to rig back up is your leader and hook.
Definitely not...just use 4 pound mono.no braid
I fish with 10 lb for walleye, largemouth, and catfish lol. For crappie I fish 8-4 lb, depending of where I’m going.
All tht for 3 pounds crappie 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Use 4 or 6 lb. Mono geez
😂😂 I can’t use 4-6 pound mono on heavy brush pile. I’ll break off everytime!
Livescope is absolutely deadly for crappie and why are you using such heavy line for crappie 😂😂
I don’t like sitting and staring at a screen. That’s not fishing to me. And I’m in Texas. We use heavy line because we always fishing heavy structure
