Words became really important when I got into recovery. The words we use shape our perceptions. Replacing words like 'should, must, have to', with words like I want, I choose, it's in my interest etc, ... The word 'clean' is irksome to me. People with addiction issues are hurting, not dirty, but like I say, it took recovery for me to realise that.
