Wouldn't go into reverse gear but can go in to all other gears on my astra j 2011 1.3 cdti estate it was just my gear selector button pull that was snapped not the whole unit, costing only £23 from scrapyard and putting it in my self saving money thanks for the video saved a few bob 👍
Hi mate I’ve replaced a clutch on an Astra sri 08 and after two months the gear wouldn’t go into place unless forcefully pushed and it made a loud screeching noise, I tried again 6 months later and now it’s going in to gear but sometimes with a strain and I have to be delicate with the reverse, makes a large clinking sound. Any help on this would be great been proper stressing about this
Thanks for The vid mate this is exactly what happened to mine.. so for the sake of a little tiny plastic clip Breaking you have to buy a whole Gear stick? Haha
What i have done is brought a corsa d gearstick as cheaper and plastic bit is better. Cost £20.50 on amazon just got to take them apart as the 6 speed one is more expensive do going to take them both apart and replace the plastic rod.
@@MrLuked97 Dude I came to the same conclusion! I really don't want to donate 200 to dealership for a tiny plastic. Are you sure that the pushing button with the hinge are compatible with the E lever? Thanks.
@@ΒασίλειοςΜπουτόπουλος yes, I have it on mine but what I done was just changed whole gearstick, no differnt other than a black button and not chrome like original
hi, just got a problem with my vauxhall wouldn’t go into reverse, was wondering how much the total cost was to fix this. All gears are working apart from reverse. Thanks
Brilliant video. My problem was it went to reverse without pulling up on button. Same principle and looked at this made adjustments. Thanks

Couple cable ties looped between linkage worked perfectly
Had this the other day, I used cable ties as vauxhall garage wanted £120 for parts and fitting

@@MrLuked97 You mean the "head" of the gearstick, or the leather part with the base?
@@ΒασίλειοςΜπουτόπουλος no the button u pull up to put it into reverse
I would tie string to it and that will keep you safe from selecting R while in D !
Thanks man for advice..do you know the price of this part?
Domagoj Štetić I would be lying if I told you I think it’s was around £150 but could be wrong
