Thank you for your videos - so knowledgeable. If you have an opinion whether i am facing BC1 problem vs lock actuator problem it would be great to hear it. My symptoms are that the driver door lock can only be done from turning the key in the lock or pulling twice the door opening latch. It doesnt lock by remote, by dash switch or self-lock over 10kmph. The passenger side works perfectly in all ways. Thank you.

I need help!!!!! I can't get the bloody green plug out!!! It has two pins on each side that follow the slot yet the pins are straight up and down. I don't want to manhandle it; there must be a proper way to do it, just, I don't see it

Looking to replace an R50/53 one as currently the lights are doing random things. How much will work with out recoding? Seen videos where it's everything except remote locking. Would it still lock/unlock old school with a manual key turn? Also, any recommendations on places to get reprogrammed? TY

Mate we have an issue with a cooper s 05 where lights remain ON after shut down which drains the battery, also have airbag passenger light on, tried a resistor stays the same, any clues think maybe battery could be rubbish?

For the other 1 person out of 100, get ur DPF checked before changing anything.

My bulb was loose, and it seems like it may have shorted out the dash lights. I checked the fuse box and it's all ok. Any recommendations on how to fix the dash lights?

I’ve got a poorly 2010 Cooper 1.6 petrol R56 (Prince engine), Car throws P0015 code & sometimes engine light. Rough & lumpy idle when cold & erratic / lumpy when warm & as if it’s about to stall when coming to a halt or revs drop with no load. 82k miles, well maintained & timing chain kit was done at 61k. I’ve swapped the Cam position sensors front to back & P0015 code remains meaning sensors are reading ok. I’ve since read it can be the exhaust Vanos solenoid sticking causing the timing to read out of tolerance, the one front left under the oil filler is the exhaust solenoid, I’m going to investigate by cleaning and swapping the inlet & exhaust Vanos solenoids & see if it fixes or follows. Failing that, the timing could be out or chain & tensioners could be whacked! I’ve also got Catalyst & oxygen sensor fail on live emissions data, but car passed recent MOT & emissions; so that could be my software scan tool not reading right. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi I have a 2001 built 2002 Mini Cooper R50. I have recently replaced the wheel speed sensors and ABS module. The ASC light was on so when i went to turn the light off with the toggle it fried the toggle PCB at the ASC toggle position, got a sizzle noise and smoke, confirmed later by pulling apart the toggle unit. However coinciding with the blowing of the toggle pcb, I lost the rev counter,speedo, and headlights. Just the needle function of both gauges, I have replaced the toggle unit with no result. Do you think i have fried the BC1? All related fuses and relays are o.k . Thanks for your videos!

Can you swap an r50 dash cluster over to another cluster and milage reads from original cluster,milage held in bcm or ecu?

I have an R52. I had to remove the battery to change the gearbox mount and since putting back together I've had issues, windows not working, indicators not working and vehicle not wanting to start first time. I've found a replacement BCM online. Is this plug and play? And if I don't get the BCM cloned what won't work?

Thanks so much for this very helpful video, I had loads of electrical gremlins on my 2001 mini R50. An auto electrician said i needed a new instrument cluster, quoted around £500 to fix it, I’ve just cleaned the cd changer plug, and now everything works perfectly! Thanks again mate!

would the new version of the bcm work in the 2001 mini? plug and play??

Hi, My BCM had gone. Defo misting up in car. Hi, moisture. Can you swap R50 53. For the same PFL or R50 needs, R50 and R53 need R53. Does it need coding on all swaps or just when you use PFL on a PFL. Car ?

Hi I have a R50 2006 model, the engine won't crank, all dashboard lights light up. There is a relay click on the passenger side kick panel when turning the ignition. The supply voltage to the starter is there, is there any other supply that I need to check that will cause the engine to crank up?

Hi, I have a feb 2002 cooper, my ABS has a mind of its own and my garage has diagnosed BC1 not communicating, and found damp in the footwell. They have told me they are no longer available from BMW/MINI and I cannot fit one from another car, hence the car is a write off, any advice would be most welcome, thanks Karl.

Hello and thank you for your videos! I have a 2008 R52 Mini Cooper S Convertible Sidewalk. Symptoms. 1) re-occurring airbag light (reset by dealer twice (passenger airbag seat sensor replacement recall done, airbag light still comes back on)), 2) Steering Angle Sensor Fault Light On (was going to replace the sensor but decided to first see if it was related to the other ghosts in the machine), 3) While driving, seatbelt buckle reminder light will go on with seat belts (both) buckled, 4) Turn signal will not go off with lever in center position. Also turn indicator will not activate when lever is put in up or down position, 5) Tire Low Pressure light will illuminate for a minute or two and then go off. (tires are fully pressurized), 6) Amber display (mpg, etc.) on driver cluster and amber display (trip odometer, etc.) on center cluster will disappear completely for 10 seconds to a minute while driving. Windows work fine, top works fine, car drives great otherwise. However, the trunk button on the remote does not function. Also, the dealer was not able to active the all windows down and sunroof open from key fob feature that should be available on my Mini. I realize that some of these symptoms are likely not related to the footwell module but I have not been able to find a good manual or reference so I can learn the ins and outs of the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, John

Wouldn't go into reverse gear but can go in to all other gears on my astra j 2011 1.3 cdti estate it was just my gear selector button pull that was snapped not the whole unit, costing only £23 from scrapyard and putting it in my self saving money thanks for the video saved a few bob 👍

R52 Mini Cooper Convertible 2005 , no Central Locking working, radio not working, the roof wont close fully , its after passing the Irish Mot the Nct , all the lights work obviously, im stumped with it ,i cant get anyone to fix the car 😢have you any ideas, im wondering is it the control module

Need some help i have the same error code. Are you sure that Actuator is the problem. In my case i have found some soot outside the intake plenum where flaps actuator is. I am getting an intermediate emergency program when i drive the car. I took off the egr valve but it is not blocked at all not much soot at all. After erasing all the errors and driving a short trip i get only 004932 error. I order a new egr and i will see. Cay i contact you if this does not work so you could give some advice?

Where do I find this part on my 2006 mini convertible

I've got a mini one convertible 04 reg with so many problems.. first one speedometer not sure ,fuel gauge reads empty sometimes, handbrake light on all the time, abs light and tyre light on, and soft top not working. Coming up with fault code p1613 but not sure on code now. Please could you give me some more . Abs sensors have all been changed recently thanks Mr fullwood.

I have a 2003 mini which has failed mot due to wiper arms parking in upright position, we have replaced wiper motor but same fault occurs, bmw have quoted £600 to replace controle module but cant be certain that is the fault , any ideas would be welcome

I have just bought an 02 Mini Cooper. The widows didn’t go down when the doors open, central locking didn’t work properly, Speedo lights not working and indicator light didn’t flash. I thought I was in for a huge bill. There was a small amount of corrosion on one of the CD changer clips. I give it a quick clean with some contact cleaner and everything works perfectly. Thank you so much for this video really helped me out.

I have a r52 where the roof does not work and heated rear window does these go through the bcm I haven't looked yet for damp but I have checked all fuses and relays changed roof module as I had one with car and but still no power to these things

I have a 2004 mini cooper base, it was over heating so I changed out the thermostat and housing together, filled it back up, and opened the bleeder valve, once it got to temp, all the bubble went away and then all of a sudden it started erupting coolant like a volcano, got everything wet, it shut down and now have to jump it off and then it'll die shortly after and my dash started going crazy flashing everything and the tac stopped working so I shut if off amd not touched it since, any thoughts out there that can help please

For the newer minis you don't have to takenthr subframe off if you take thr front end off. Just another solution.

Dont you use the bleed screw on the metal tube behind the intakes?
