- If your gear stick on your manual geared car or van (this is on a 2007 Ford Transit) is really stiff to change gear or hard to shift then it's probably not the gearbox, but just the gear linkage. Funny how i search stiff gear linkage and Ford transit video comes. It could a common ford transit issue. I have the same problem on my 2017 transit. I will give this a shot. Thank you.

Definitely the first thing to check if you've got stiff gears. Also lift the gear stick gaiter up and spray round there...

yeah mine is a peugeot 208 e=hdi thats stiff maybe do this to it thanks

I’ve recently changed the gear linkage cable but now the gears get stiff after driving for a while. Think this could be the problem? Or something else?
Seems unlikely but worth a try. Something getting hot and getting tight or seizing up?

Get someone to move the gear stick, you might be able to get to it from the engine bay. Use spray grease, it lasts longer. 👊

What does he use to spray it ?
Lithium grease as it'll last longer, but ideally penetrating oil like WD40 first if it's seized. But basically anything!

You need penetrating oil mate
Yeah prob should have started with that to be fair as there was no movement. If there's any movement at all, go straight to the grease!
