Hi Craig. Merry Christmas to you (again!), and congratulations for winning JK's UA-camr of the Year award. You've got some excellent models. Thanks for showing them to us.
I'm definitely in the market for one of those Dapol Westerns. Big heavy beasts just like the real ones. Hope you've had a happy Christmas. We bought some more Playtrains track for my daughter and she's getting another train for it soon.
Great video Craig great collection you gave there.I am glad Gladstone got a good score if that's the right word.I have one and Tom Marshall Buggleskelly station has done a wonderful job.I have one put have not sound fitted yet definitely a job for 2025.Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 😊
Merry Christmas Craig, awesome video and a great look at your fantastic collection mate. I won’t lie that Clayton in Ribble livery is easily my favourite, love LOVE the weathering 😎🙌 have a great holiday mate and take it easy!
100% with you on non working fans. We should start a non appreciation society, The No Fans Fan Club. You have so many locos that are either already in my collection or will be; 'great minds think alike' as somebody once told me to say. 🎉Merry Christmas 🎉
A good sign the caps not on ! 😂 happy 🤶 Christmas mate hope you and your family have a wonderful time.ive actually stopped buying locos now, got enough and with prices going up so much and getting crazy , so making do with the ones i have.
To be a model collector there is no need to have cubords full of locos and it also comes down to how long you're into the hobby, I think you've already got a nice collection, and I'm sure it will gradually grow. To the question is there a perfect loco, I guess not, even with the latticed lazer scanning, the producer has to make adjustments to let it run as a model. What often disappoints me the most, if it comes to new models, is the use of older types of motors, I often don't understand why they didn't use a 5 pole cordless motor, it's not that these are rare. Saying this or that brand is the best also doesn't exist, although I often prefer some brands more than others, but that doesn't mean their flawless. For the running problems you have with your Bachmann class 24 (14:03), have you looked at the plastic gear that sits on the axle, this is often a classic Bachman problem for the somewhat older types, the plastic gets unstable and often show hair cracks letting the axle slip, this shows in your running performance, and is only getting worse over time. Then the best thing to do is order a new one and replace it. And then your love hate relation with Locomotion, since your video, I've investigated a bit more into the model, if it comes to pick ups it's only one wheel that picks up, so instead of 8 wheels picking up, only 4 do, so you lose already 50% on such a small model. And in general DC and basic DCC running often is staling on points and bad connections due to only the 50% pick up is a problem. The best performance I've seen, is simple soundless DCC, remove the speaker, and install a heavy stay alive, that will give you the best performance. Perhaps a bid more wait will also be an improvement. DCC sound will always be a big problem, as there just is to little space to get it all in, to make it a good runner.. Hornby did a stunning job making this model optical good, but not having a DCC house brand sound or non sound decoder with stay a life, that fits, the poor pick up, and even an older 3 pole motor is not good for a brand new tooling in this day and age, that to my opinion is a big disappointment. And that you have to fiddle and improvise for a model that is not cheap a big shame. Would I not have bought it, as an era 1 fan don't think so, but should someone else make this model better, you can guess what I would do… Craig and all the fans, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a stunning new model railroad year…
Great video, I do like a Class 37!👍Tomorrow, after 40 years, i will be opening my first railway set and starting my N Gauge Journey! 😬👍😳😁 Have a great Christmas and New Year 🌲🎅🚞🚂🚃🚃🚃
Lovely collection Craig I completely agree with you about the older model Bachmann 37s I think they don’t look out of place next to the latest and greatest, I’ve even ordered an older 8 pin one this week as I’m addicted to buying them 😂 you did well getting one for £50 I’ve just paid more than double that for the 8 pin! Cheers and Merry Christmas 🎄
Really lovely fleet that pal, amazing how quick they can grow I should know 😳 Hope you and the family have an amazing Christmas and all the best for next year.
Thoroughly enjoyed this resume whilst relaxing int’ Bath!!! (Yes, you have a good ‘Bathroom’ voice HaHa!!)Cheers Craig. Great idea for an end of year vid!

Are you sitting comfortably? then I'll skip that and get on with it! - A long time ago, 1965ish, I was at school with a lad called Frank Clayton, who went on to be an apprentice at the Vulcan foundry. We lost contact when he discovered girls, and I joined the Navy, but whenever I see a Clayton shunter, real or model, I wonder if it was the same Clayton.
@@IronHorseRailways Thanks, I just recently upgraded from Hornby's eLink (don't laugh) to Roco's z21 but was not aware of a JMRI app for phones (guess it runs through the NCE).
@IronHorseRailways Abso-'king-lutely Craig! But if you didn't do it then someone else will, and you will likely be the funnier /more entertaining one to watch, so I'm glad you did! 👍😁 I'd get my willy, er.. I mean train collection out, but it won't be half as impressive as yours!
I have my locos on display when I'm not running them. I keep them (pretty much) all well maintained so I can run them whenever I wish. I get pleasure from both running and displaying them, which is why I love the hobby.

I don't understand hoarders that have so many trains that they cannot run them, is it an obsession to them or is an investment to sell latter on.
