I think Sundowns is going to regret this decision.Management is also to be blamed.Why did Management give Coach Rulani a 4 yr contract knowing winning CAF champions league is not easy.Its not like Sundowns has won it more than once .So they knew when giving long term contract to Rulani that it could possibly take 4 yrs to win it;it's a process .Sundowns and Al Ahly were the only two teams in past two seasons who reached semi finals in CAF this shows the consistency in Sundowns. They are small things like Sundowns playing League games on Monday then playing CAF on Friday and other teams they compete with are not participating in local league they get time off for a whole week;those are some small issues that affected the team.The other issue is Interference ;Sporting Director in the second leg of Esperance game he put the first 11 and that's why Zwane ;Modiba were on the bench.Against Orlando Pirates in Nedbank Cup the squad was also influenced by SD.You wouldn't think this could happen at Sundowns but it did. Money doesn't always buy success;Esquival and Mathews those were players who were brought by Flammenberg. Look at Chelsea they got all the money and bought big players ;PSG at some point had best front three but failed win Champions league till today.You need both quality players and quality Technical Team to win Big major Trophies. To be honest Sundowns will regret this decision.
