I really want to thank you for your YT videos. Not only do they have the sympathetic Thao feeling, but importantly you're actually using your tech, really talking about pros and cons - not like a lot of these hyped UA-camrs getting every week new hardware and not really caring about it but mainly about click counts. Video design is top too. Wish you success and all the best.
I agree about the size. I absolutely love my tab S8. I think the LCD looks just fine. I don't see any reason to upgrade at this point. Maybe I'll buy a brand new S9 when the S10 comes out 😊. Great video as always. Oh, and I picked up the Book Keyboard Case cover for $100 on sale. I'm loving this thing. It has mostly replaced my laptop. I use this thing every day. I used my laptop once a week or once every two weeks.
If I want to learn about anything Samsung...Thao has got me covered. Can always count on a thorough, informative and enjoyable review. Another excellent review.
Thanks for the review Thao. I ended up getting the Tab S9 Regular based on your size preference. I am glab I did. Typing on the smaller size makes me glad I didn't go any bigger. It's hard to reach as it is to get to the middle of the screen!
The Tab S6 is when they got the design right on the outside, but the Tab S7/S7+ was the beginning of them locking on to what it means to make an overall premium android tablet. Each year since they have refined the experience, and it's been up to Android itself to catch up. While it can't replace a PC 100%, its much better than say, a chromebook or a budget laptop (under $500 USD). And if you're already familiar with the Android/Samsung ecosystem, you'll fit right in. Worried about price? You can always dip your toes into the Tab S8 lineup for a cheaper price, OR the 2022 refreshed Tab S6 lite, which beefed it up from the 2019/2020 versions, and you can get it for $300 USD or less with deals. Me personally, imma wait one more year to upgrade from my Tab S7+. It still has solid battery life & security updates into the next year, and then I can get what should be a beautiful Tab S10 Ultra.
I got the tab s9 12/256gb (not FE) recently for 700€ here in Europe, with a 400€ cashback, it goes down to 300€, what a steal! and theres a free cover/keyboard as well!
I was weighing the base and the plus model. I bought the base (11") and I really like this tablet. It is a tablet and needs to be portable and easy to use hence I did not want a huge device. I preordered it and got the increase in memory, plus my company also had a discount. A really good move and I just put in a 512Gb SD memory card so I was able to upload all of my music and musical scores. Now to integrate my pedal for turning pages.
I find 10 " is the best tradeoff between portability and sufficient size. It actually even works for films. The keyboard felt a little cramped at first. But it is SO 2nd nature to me now. And my tablet even has a DVD 📀 player. I bet you didn't see that coming! 🐱
I have the S9, and while I agree there are some apps that are not tablet compatible, I find it worse on my iPad Mini 6. Many apps just aren't good on the Mini, such as UA-cam, where the slider to fast forward is almost unusable. The Mini also has a terrible keyboard that takes up too much space in landscape and not large enough in portrait. On the S9, just use Dex with web pages and it is basically a laptop repacment. The lack of customization on the iPad is frustrating to me.
Great Video. I'm upgrading from a Tab A7 which has served me well. Between researching online, visiting the store for hands on and video's such as yours... I decided to go with the S9+. Yes.... OUCH on the price is right. Fortunately, while still in the decision stage, the price on the unit I was looing for (512GB version), the price came down dropping a good $220+ which took away a small bit of the sting. Back in the day, my A7 ran me around $120 if I remember correctly. Part of the reason for choosing the S9+ 12.4" screen was because of the DEX functionality to hookup to my 32" ASUS Pro monitor (which has the portrait feature). And with my Laptop being 17", I thought it was a good balance of screen real estate across all platforms. Not having yet gone through everything on the S9+, I have a few questions from your video if you could shed some light on... At time mark 1:15 you review the tablets/slim keyboards... I'm guessing the one in the middle is for the S9+? I decided to go with the keyboard/trac pad, but, I notice the one in your video is different? Yours appears a tad larger, and the Return key has a different design to it. What's the model# of yours? The rest of my questions have to do with the software within the 4:10 time mark... The Note taking your were doing in portrait that showed the college ruled lines... which software was that? And the video software you comment on as well? Some feedback on the Slim Cover Keyboard... While I like having a keyboard available, and especially a backing that encloses the SPen when traveling. The flexible pitch support is nice (I know you love it), but the whole cover assembly limits me, having to attach the the two pieces in order to utilize the keyboard. And being the surfaces of the cover/keyboard are somewhat slick, it doesn't provide a secure feeling when wanting to hold the tablet in one hand while writing as your moving around. That said, I found a cover that provides some nice features that includes a hand strap that gives you that security i mentioned. But, the problem there is I can't dock the tablet with the keyboard as the design of the cover prevents it from matching up. So.... Bit of a dilemma as I really like using both, but removing the full backing of the SS Cover/Keyboard is a tad of a Hassell when swapping back n' forth. I just got the Galaxy Tab S9 as a birthday gift from my Dad this year and it is worth it! I'm glad that Samsung finally decided to put an OLED screen on the base S9 because aside from that, The size is perfect for me and the sound of its speakers are already very good as well.
I have the Tab S8 Ultra and the Tab S9 Ultra. Can't tell a single difference without flipping it over to the back, the camera layout is round vs oval and the top of the S9 Ultra has 2 mics vs1 on the S8 Ultra.

Dude my S7+ seems ancient now! And ive not had it for 2 years yet! Can only imagine the S9 when my S7+ has been INSANE! My one complaint with my tablet, the battery just seems to drain a little bit quicker than I'd like. That's literally it. I can live with that. Samsung's S tablets are bonkers!
I see a video from Thao and it puts a smile on my face! I finally bought the Tab S9+ after years of watching your videos and your Samsung videos are some of the best. I'm excited to see what you cover in this video.
I’m an apple person (just used to it) and never tried Samsung but I’m trying to watch these videos as my mum loves Samsung and I wanna get her a new one for Christmas, there’s just so many to pick from but this was so helpful
I am weighing up getting a Tab S9. Thank you for your review. And your unique presentational style. I have been very well informed and uplifted by your authenticity and smile. 👌
Damn I love what Samsung’s doing with their tablets! I have no intention of moving away from my 11” iPad Pro, but I would really like to have that OLED display instead of the still very good IPS LCD. Also I prefer the smaller 11” size too. For a secondary device to my laptop it’s easier to carry around and it’s such a comfortable size to cozy up to in bed or on the couch to watch videos.
Android desperately needs the Affinity creative suite, a full desktop web browser, and a fully-featured Office suite. At this point the hardware and OS of devices like the Tab S9 and Fold 5 are unmatched, but the software availability just keeps holding them back.
OK, even though you semi disrespected my Tab S9+ that I JUST GOT YESTERDAY ! lol - I gave you a thumbs up. This is a beauty, transferred all my stuff from my Tab 6 Lite via USB-C in no time ! I've been watching as many Tips & Tricks videos to optimize this puppy as I can and it sure pays off ! Got it mostly for watching content, reading magazines and a few other things - best buy I have made in awhile. Nice review . . . . . . . . . . . except . . . . . . . . . . . . you know . . . . . . . . . . . when you attacked my S9+ !!😁
As far as Photoshop/Photo Editing goes, one of the GREATEST features of my Tab S8 Ultra that no one talks about is the 'Second Screen' feature. SuperDisplay a $10 app works really great. The Tab S8 Ultra has basically replaced my Wacom Cintiq as my main Photoshop editing device. It's higher resolution, wireless, lighter, portable, and the S-Pen might be even better... Samsung's built-in 'Second Screen' works OK, but it used to work much better than it does now, I don't know what happened, but hopefully they will update it to work as good as SuperDisplay does. Plus, your files stay resident on your workstation and you don't have to copy files back and forth. I find that SuperDisplay works exactly the same wired or over WiFi. If there's a difference, I don't see any. As you mentioned, it's SO much better than Samsung's Second Screen. It's pretty crazy to me that Samsung definitely knows how much of a superior product SuperDisplay is and they could easily license the technology (like they do Wacom's EMR) or even purchase the company without even batting an eye, instead they ship a vastly inferior piece of software... Plus, the device is awesome all on its own... Literally blown away by how great it is! The S-Pen is fantastic and FREE in the box. You don't need to add a paper-like screen protector ($40) in addition to the $130 you'll pay extra for the Apple Pencil... I'm a 30+ year Professional Graphic Artist. When some say that there aren't Professional Visual Arts apps on android it's just really incorrect, because I use them everyday. Autodesk Sketchbook, Infinite Painter, Concepts, Krita are just a few of the apps available on the Google Play store... There are many more... Are there a few apps available on iPad that aren't on the Play store? Yes, of course, but a good carpenter never blames his tools, and with expertise and talent you can do anything and everything on android apps that you can do on iOS apps - NO DOUBT. If you're already entrenched in the Apple 'eco-system'... Then pay the extra $500 to $1500...
I just discovered your channel and I learned alot on my tablet and I'm using the tab s7 fe I'm getting a keyboard cover for my tablet I can't wait until I get it
Updated to S9 ultra from Ipad pro 2019 after 4 years. I have never had so much fun with a tablet in such a long time. Samsung absolutely knocked it out of the park with the S9 series. The huge 14.6 inch screen is a dream for artists
That wont be until tab s10 comes out. 😊 although the fall event may bring a good deal if samsung gives a good price for the trade in... keep your eyes out for that.
Really been eyeing one of these bad boys. I'd be using mainly for emails, media consumption(sports, youtube, Netflix) and the occasional word document. I am really tempted to pull the trigger.
I have been thinking since a year that Samsung should introduce a mini size tablet with the same great specs.I think it will be phenomenal and a really great move for them!!
This is the best review of S9 on youtube. The way you neatly organize the content and give the value upfront is just amazing. I loved your review, it felt balanced and yet very fresh. More power to you. 🥳👍☺️
I hope your experience was better than mine. Ordered the S9 with Keyboard Cover on the early order. Absolutely loved the multitasking and overall quality of the device. I ended up returning it due to one reason: Another issue with WPA3 Wifi 6e internet connection dropping. This is a known issue with Samsung products. Second Samsung product I've returned this year. Samsung tech support, after hours on the phone, did not have a clue how to fix it, but the internet is full of known issues. The tablet and the phone I returned a few months ago were the only two devices in our household that would not hold a connection. Samsung has no fix in sight.
The Goldielocks sized Tab S6 has been my favorite device the past two years (bought refurbished/new not boxed for $320). It has a SuperAMOLED also. I bought it as a video monitor for flying my drone while filming, but it became obvious that it beats my Windows Thinkpad for most tasks. I would buy the S9 for its 12GB RAM, IP rating, faster processor and 120 Hz refresh. Q: it's advertised as 915 nits brightness-- is this only accessible under Dolby Vision while watching HDR content or is there a manual toggle to force it like the S23 phone has?
Except for the Aspect ratio.. having a taller screen with Oleds makes for uneven degradation when watching videos especially considering a lot of Nerflix.. Hbo.. content is even wider with huge letterbox blackbars.
I bought the same one. I'm watching on it right now. Honestly perfect size. The ultra was wayyyy too big, and I'm 6'1. The espect ratio is also perfect.
A thing that some artist might want to know is that it is possible to use the tablet as a Wacom/Huion Tablet with the app SuperDisplay. Also you can use the tablet with the Galaxy Book exclusive Multicontrol function with any Windows Notebook/PC by using a script that makes the Multicontrol software think that the Windows is a Galaxy Book.
Excellent video. I'm an Android guy but I have an iPad for bigger media consumption. Since I got my S23 Ultra, it has been used more than my iPad and reminded me of why I love my Androids. I'm glad Samsung has stepped up its tablet game and now I can have both a tablet and phone by them and step away from the iPad. You gave a great review of the size I want. It would be my iPad replacement and 11" is great for travel and couch moments.
The improvement between the S8 and S9 (SD 8 Gen 1 and SD 8 Gen 2) in performance is literally amazing. 60% more performance and more efficient in a one year is great.
Yeah, these devices are designed for people that want to get the most productivity and multitasking out of their devices, and get a good return on their purchase, not for Apple fans.
Someone on Reddit mentioned that his brand new Tab S9 has worse battery life than his 2.5 year old Tab S7. Can you compare Tab S9 battery life with S8 and S7?
I was actually surprised to get 10 hours of screen on time with 85% battery with my Tab S9. I watched a movie, tested some games with newly bought controller and watched tons of contents. The battery is amazing!
Don't let the pen discharge completely for too long nor too much times because the capacitor may be slowly damaged. Additionally, since Clip Studio Paint and Krita utilize air actions, the drawing experience is significantly enhanced. For instance, I use a air action down to save and a clockwise rotation to mirror the image. These features are indispensable for me and some artists.
I still have my S8+ and S7. Opted just to upgrade my phone to S23 ultra. The processor, brightness, and lcd screens are irrelevant to me. I use S8+ for viewing content, uploading to Tiktok, and content creation. The battery life is forever. I rarely charge on S8+ something like 12 hrs. S7 I use for reading and some content creation. I can render videos quickly on anything I use PowerDirector it's not bloatware and gets the job done fast.
I have the tab S8, and I actually appreciate the LCD given it's the smallest model, I have to obviously have it closer to my face because it's a smaller display, so the LCD really helps with my eyes. I bet it does help having an OLED with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 though
I have the tab s7+ and I love it, still use it every day but I want the tab s9 cuz of the small form factor with thes same screen as + and ultra. But I think I want to replace the tab s7+ for a tab 9 ultra that way one seems really small and the other will seem huge lol

Please what is the bigger size model tablet name that she changed from? Thanks
@@tonylopez901 Samsung has 3 sizes for their S series, S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra. Same with the S8. She had the S8 Ulta.
Thanks! @@jdneilso
S8 support dolby vision on netflix?
I was waiting for you and your review of this exact model, in this exact color. You didn't disappoint...as always.
Glad you liked it!
The Surface's built-in kickstand is the most useful thing about it. I never remove it from my Lenovo Duet 3.
Thank you.On my s22, I can write even when screen is deleting, but not on S9 tab.
Is it so ? WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY.

I've been waiting for your review since it was released. Thank you!!
I just got the Galaxy Tab S9 as a birthday gift from my Dad this year and it is worth it! I'm glad that Samsung finally decided to put an OLED screen on the base S9 because aside from that, The size is perfect for me and the sound of its speakers are already very good as well.
The review I've been waiting for! 🎉🎉🎉
I upgraded from the Tab S7+ to the S9 Ultra and I love it. The massive screen is amazing.
I have the Tab S8 Ultra and the Tab S9 Ultra. Can't tell a single difference without flipping it over to the back, the camera layout is round vs oval and the top of the S9 Ultra has 2 mics vs1 on the S8 Ultra.
Just because it looks the same doesn't mean it's the same😂 it's a nice improvement over the 8 ultra
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee it's not even noticable
great review Thao! Love Samsung tabs!
the most complete review on S9 ❤ gone through many reviews, but instead of only unboxing and showing, you covered important features and use cases i was looking for 😁 LOVE FROM INDIA ❤❤
Love the new channel name!!
I'm looking to replace my Chromebook, so I'm thinking about the Ultra 🤔 water resistance ftw ☔
I love watching your reviews keep up the good work
Great review. Just don't understand why Samsung won't make an 8" model with all the high end specs. 🤔
With the Tab S7+, Samsung outdid themselves. I love mine and I'll probably wait until the S10 Ultra. This does look great though!
This is the review that I was looking for. Thank you. I love your videos. Keep up the AMAZING work!
I am weighing up getting a Tab S9.
Thank you for your review. And your unique presentational style.
I have been very well informed and uplifted by your authenticity and smile. 👌
Girl samsung is a beast with this tabS9Ultra my wife loves it i have the tabS8Ultra no more boring ipads. Love ur review. Thanx
Would love Affinity apps on these tabs!
I cannot wait to have saved up enough to comfortably upgrade from my tab s6 to the tab s9 😊
I really enjoyed your review!!! One of the best at the moment 😊
Nice review . . . . . . . . . . . except . . . . . . . . . . . . you know . . . . . . . . . . . when you attacked my S9+ !!😁
only 3 minutes in and is the best review i´ve seen great work!!!
Still have my Tab S7+ which has been awesome. But I plan on picking up the S9 Ultra when the price drops.
That wont be until tab s10 comes out. 😊 although the fall event may bring a good deal if samsung gives a good price for the trade in... keep your eyes out for that.
@@gailenrique2804nah there will be a good offer on black Friday
I would give it few more years. just waiting for other apps from the ipad to migrate to android.

@@labrahamabraham9033 When the screen is off, you press the key on your S-Pen and tap the screen twice.
Thanks for another awesome video ❤. I have the Tab S7 Plus. Love it. Runs great. I also using my Ipad Pro from 2020. The smaller size one.
Waiting for the watch 6 classic review! I see it in your wrist girl!
Coming soon!
Brilliant perspective !
Except for the Aspect ratio.. having a taller screen with Oleds makes for uneven degradation when watching videos especially considering a lot of Nerflix.. Hbo.. content is even wider with huge letterbox blackbars.
I was waiting for this.
Watching this on my tab s8 plus, i love my tablet so much, definitely worth getting one specially the new S9 lineup
I bought the same one. I'm watching on it right now. Honestly perfect size. The ultra was wayyyy too big, and I'm 6'1. The espect ratio is also perfect.
In Brazil, all the Galaxy Tab S9 series come with the keyboard cover in the box.
But i guess it is reflecting to prices?
A thing that some artist might want to know is that it is possible to use the tablet as a Wacom/Huion Tablet with the app SuperDisplay.
Also you can use the tablet with the Galaxy Book exclusive Multicontrol function with any Windows Notebook/PC by using a script that makes the Multicontrol software think that the Windows is a Galaxy Book.
Your reviews are the best.. You do such a great job! Thank you.
Thumbs up and great overall coverage.
Thanks for the the great review! I'm happy you focused on the smaller and cheaper tablet instead of the ultra that everyone is tempted to talk about.
im planning on getting this, for both college and entertainment, DeX seems like a great thing for school!
Thanks for your video, I bought a s7+ after watching your channel. Using the s7+ to watch this video now.
I have the Tab S9 and I'd love to have that wallpaper of yours.
Does it come with access to the galaxy games like my ultra 23 phone.....? Thanks and great review video....Paul
Great video. I just purchased one and am excited to use it!
The improvement between the S8 and S9 (SD 8 Gen 1 and SD 8 Gen 2) in performance is literally amazing. 60% more performance and more efficient in a one year is great.
Love the review, love the way you talk. Thanks
its been a while thao, can't wait for another video!!
hey! Thao is flexing our Tori's music video of CUT and MISSIN U! I love you
I'm on s8 5G tab, and it's still good, multitasking smooth. So of course I don't need to upgrade to s9 🥰
Im still on my Tab S7, i love the keyboard since it still has the trackpad and can still do all the things I want to do in it.
Yeah, these devices are designed for people that want to get the most productivity and multitasking out of their devices, and get a good return on their purchase, not for Apple fans.
I think the Tab S9 series is underrated. Amazing tablets and the aspect ratio is to die for. Makes holding an iPad feel archaic.
Have you tried to turn Dolby sound on ?
Someone on Reddit mentioned that his brand new Tab S9 has worse battery life than his 2.5 year old Tab S7.
Can you compare Tab S9 battery life with S8 and S7?
The tab s9 has a 8,400mAh battery. Supposed to get at least 2 hrs more screen time. That person must have a app thats eating power.
Goodness the ultra is massive. That thing is reaching the point where it doesn't even make sense as a tablet anymore. I guess artists must like it.
I've been using Samsung tablets since I was in school back in 2011, I've never had any issues
E sim in tab s9 wifi it's present?
Since becoming a Fold user, I only use my 12.9 inch iPad for one scenario: reading newspapers (PDFs). Samsung rocks 🤓🚀
Good Morning Thao
Beautiful review. Would you please recommend a few good blue tooth and mouse combinations for the s9 series. Full Size. Thank you.
That's great video btw, I enjoyed it for sure.💙
I was like anybody please Tab S9 review, not S9+ or S9 Ultra. Finally 😄
Amazing review! Thanks for the in-depth review :)
I have the tab S8, and I actually appreciate the LCD given it's the smallest model, I have to obviously have it closer to my face because it's a smaller display, so the LCD really helps with my eyes. I bet it does help having an OLED with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 though
Ive had a a late model iPad ....now latest Samsung tab ....what am I missing.. nothing, an how many people actually use pro level apps
I see you with Thar PnB rock playing. From a Philly Native. LLPnB Rock. great video.
I have the tab s7+ and I love it, still use it every day but I want the tab s9 cuz of the small form factor with thes same screen as + and ultra. But I think I want to replace the tab s7+ for a tab 9 ultra that way one seems really small and the other will seem huge lol
