The camp finished a little more than a week ago, and I still find it difficult to comprehend everything that happened. As soon as I arrived home I went to my drum set to practice the material and I got a small existential crisis, questioning myself “where do I even start?!” lol The Drums, Art and Lifestyle camp has been an amazing experience. The main motivation of going there was my PhD investigation, since Virgil plays a big part in it. What I got from the camp was so much more than I expected though. It was so inspiring to be around Virgil for almost four days, talking extensively about music and art, sharing his exercises and food routines, seeing him play 3 meters away from me. Even though that I’ve seen most of his videos and listened to most of his albums, I was blown away by his groove and control of dynamic. His level of comprehension of rhythm and music is just from another planet. It was as confrontational as it was inspiring. Thank you Virgil for all the inspiration, time, and dedication.
Absolutely worth the effort to go across the globe and assist the camp, completely a 360º experience. Thanks again Virgil, I´m looking forward to running with you again😝 PD: give me one or two years and I´ll have done the homework to repeat the camp! jajajaaa
Saw an interview Virgil did, heard i shud say... Virgil's is absolutely correct, as my 42 y.o. self is seeing it too.... This younger generation of players, is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. all of this wonderful tech including platforms like you tube where these kids can SEE THE STUFF is huge, while in Virgil's day, or even MY DAY, you had to sot there with a recording, penicl & paper & literally WRITE OUT the parts you wanted to learn on say, like a fusion song. Where today u can search it in you tube, & then WATCH IT GET PLAYED bye the person who created the part. Thats ABSOLUTELY HUGE in development, & it is DEFINITELY STARTING TO SHOW in these younger boys & girls. Absolutely. Especially the FEMALES. SO MANY AMAZING FEMALE PLAYERS NOW. I absolutely LOVE IT! KEEP HITTING IT, LADIES! The planetary avg in population is ≈8 females for every 1 male, so i LOVE SEEING THE GIRLS GETTING AFTER IT!!!!! YOU ALL ROCK!!!! 🤘🤙🤟👍💯💯💯💯
