    This is a Porsche 911 restoration that was abandoned in 1994 after being converted to a race car. My plan is a twin turbo Subaru EZ30 porsche engine swap with 400+ HP to the wheels. Stay tuned.

    I want a porsche 911, but they were never available in our country, so I am going to build one in a few years, and that is the engine I want in mine. This is so insightful and helps out on a few questions I had.

    Look at you. So comfortable with MIG welding now you don't even bother with a shield. Watch out for retina burn!

    If i may racecar rads solid mounting is ok for a short time. However daily's etc some kind of rubber bushing might prevent vibration fatigue? But clever people like the engineer you have coming should advise.

    factory brackets will be awesome with the passenger side cooler, driver's side is easy, too. Did you try putting a rubber isolator to the top mount and bolting it to the back of the headlight bucket. (you should have rubber isolators on top and bottom mounts) It's hard to visualize with the fender off. But just follow how the factory did it. Those oil coolers worked great for my 3.6 conversion. Watch out for tire rubbing when the wheel is turned and suspension is compressed. Go as far forward as possible

    Love how this is going! ✋ Any plans for radiator isolation? Something as simple as a rubber washer might be enough.

    Trailblazer! Very cool CSF has signed on. I’m doing an EJ25 swap into a ‘72 Super Beetle and have found how critical and time consuming locating the radiator and cooling lines are. Good to hear you have them on your team! 👍👍

    If the rads go where the original oil coolers go then why are you not using the original oil cooler mounts?

    • @jcg_venues
      @jcg_venues 9 місяців тому

      Yes original brackets and porsche mounting which these coolers are already designed for would be easiest/best, i guess he didnt have any to hand?

    I have 69’ 912. Was thinking of an ej205 swap and using Subaru gears to flip the trans. What are the benefits of the ez30r? I imagine it’s a bit heavier.

    just an idea, if you're marketing a kit for the porsche i think it would be a better item if all the fasteners were metric as the rest of the car would be from the factory. its so frustrating when custom items are supplied with imperial bolts for metric vehicles.

    • @rennch.
      @rennch.  9 місяців тому

      I don't have anything imperial in my whole garage, lol.

    With the oil cooler/radiators, so close to the front tire(s), will you have a screen/guard to protect them from rocks/debris?

    @11:08
    The fitment looks like it’ll do OK, but the placement of that oil cooler is concerning. Is there something to prevent the wheel debris splash although majority of it will be thrown to the rear of the car there’s still gonna be some debris rocks that are held into the tread or on inclement days mud road dirt whatever some portion of that is going to be thrown forward.😳😳
    If the wheel well acts also as a baffle or deflector then my
    concern is moot. But if it does not fully protect that rear facing surface of the oil cooler, then it could get loaded up, thereby diminishing the effectiveness or limiting the cooling ability.
    Maybe my concerns are premature but I thought it was just something to bring up at this point. You may have already answered that issue anyway.

    • @rennch.
      @rennch.  9 місяців тому

      They are indeed, premature.
