For everyone worried about your medical pictures and what happens with them, I promise it is highly regulated under the HIPAA act. If you break HIPAA even by accident there is a big investigation and a huge fine. To top it off your clinic can go on what’s called the Hall of Shame, which is a public website where normal people can check if your clinic has had a HIPAA breach. So there quite literally is “police” for this stuff. - Signed someone who works in the healthcare industry and has to do routine HIPAA training.

Medical professional here: anything sent thru the patient portal becomes part of your chart and is viewable to your entire medical team for a minimum of 7 years due to legal purposes. However it is illegal for people to release that info at all. You can sue them and they could lose their license. People send some wild things.

I'm a therapist and I have a client who will not start a session without powering her phone completely off because she's afraid of siri activating and calling/messaging the people she's talking about during the session. Honestly a good idea 😅
This whole thing with worrying about your parents reading your texts or being punished if you do something wrong is so foreign to me and seems like a cultural difference between Sweden, where I live, and the US. I remember growing up and watching american movies and shows and just not getting why the kids would always lie to their parents and constantly being grounded, having phones taken away etc. I don’t think I even know anyone who had that experience growing up. Sure, some people were lying to their parents about drinking and partying on occasion, but for me, I was always completely honest with my parents and the thought of them punishing me never even crossed my mind. Sure, they’d get mad sometimes and we’d fight or have serious talks, but NEVER in a million years any type of pumishment and FOR SURE they’d never have even gotten the idea of invading my privacy so deeply as reading my texts. I feel like this whole thing with punishing your kids will always just backfire on you, because it wont stop the bad behaviour, it will just increase the lying.

1 hookah session has about 2x nicotine and 9x carbon monoxide as a single cigarette.
But because of the flavor and the water pipe cooling the smoke it doesn’t feel as harsh as a cigarette. I used to go to hookah lounges with my friends and thought it was less harmful than cigarettes but when I learned about the concentration of it being like smoking several I stopped.

The other day I half asleep sent a message to my dad who lives 8+ hours away from me asking him to bring me coffee when I meant to send it to my husband, he totally went with it though and said "Sure I'll be there in about 10hrs, what's your Dutch order?" I did say wrong person you don't need to drive here but atleast he went with it. If he really drove 10hrs to bring me coffee tho, he's a real one 🤣

The hookah one cracks me up because it reminded me of when I worked at an amusement park and someone literally snuck in a whole hookah setup through security and set it up in the corner of the waterpark.

Okay, I have one that is a two way calling disaster on a landline (who let the old lady in?)😅 when I was I was in middle school my friend and I were both crushing on the same guy, and she was telling me about something he did. I thought I flipped over the line and told the said crush EVERYTHING she had just told me. I then quickly realized how silent I thought he was being, to find out seconds later my friend was still on the line 🤦🏼♀️ I was mortified

The worst mistext I did was when I saw that my mom asked "How's dad?" (my parents are divorced) and I responded with a flippant "he's doing great actually, don't worry about him" but it turned out it was in the big family group chat and she was asking about my grandfather. 😅😅

I can promise you that medical photos sent through the patient portal (EMR) are immediately scanned into your chart but are not easy to find by other providers. The portals are also very secure and someone would have to go well out of their way.
I did once send our vet a picture of our cat, who had an infected eye via facebook direct message asking if I could give the cat an ointment that I already had at home.
A while after I wanted to send a friend a picture of a sweatshirt I had sewn for myselft and I accidently sent that to the vet to.
It was nothing spicy but i still was embarassed about my mistake.

I have had too many friends who found out their significant other was cheating because of snap chat. It makes it easy because the chat disappears
The "photos" that would be in your patient portal would be part of your chart and would be stored just like the photo copy of your insurance card and maybe ID they would have on file.
~ phlebotomist that has to go into charts often to retrieve orders
Whenever sending an *important photo, I go to the persons contact first, then hit the attachment. Just in case!
5:10 one time I sent my mom a not so good text on accident, and did the “shit fuck oh no shit shit fuck” thing, and it was like midnight, I snuck into her room while she was asleep and deleted the text off her phone, and then went back to bed…. And she still doesn’t know it happened. There have been times I’ve said “Hey siri text Ethan (my current bf) and it says “what would you like to say to *Ex’s name*” and I’m so lucky I caught that because if I’d sent him the text I sent my bf he would be both confused and mad and he would probably lose his mind in anger. It was like “hi lovey I just wanted to let you know I’m driving home from work so if I don’t answer your texts that’s why I love you so much!” So like thank GOD I caught the mistake before it happened.

I'm here to propose the idea of the girls reading Disney Channel/Musical theater fanfiction (maybe some alexander hamilton and john laurens), but like really bad cringy fan fiction written by like a 13-year-old whose English isn't her first language.
While this would be very funny, I wouldn't go around asking people to make fun of literal kids
