Hey Frank! I've been watching your series as I explore building my own food trailer. Thank you for offering your knowledge and expertise to those of us who are dreaming of the food truck life! I currently live in the city, but I don't think I want to operate within Chicago due to the difficulties other food trucks have had. I was wondering if you would be able to talk to me about how/where you operate in DuPage county, any challenges you faced getting started, or ongoing issues you may still deal with. I would love to get some insight (and a reality check, if I'm being honest!) from you if you would consider talking with me. Keep up the inspiring work!
Good afternoon. To be honest we don't park that often in the streets anymore. Typically we only do private caterings. much easier and money is secure in how much you are getting paid to serve and cook. But DuPage is super easy to get licensed in per my experience their website is very straightforward
@@fbaltierrez That is good to know! So are you limited to operating only in DuPage county? Are there challenges to operating in multiple cities, or is it fairly simple to move from suburb to suburb as long as you are meeting county requirements? Sorry I have so many questions! lol
@@ambermaynard9538 easy to move around, you can always buy a one day pass if you think the city will give you a problem the HD comes checks you out and poof they are gone quickly
I've been watching your videos I'm about to start my own. Where can I find the piece of stainless steel to go behind my cooking equipment. Also what type of stainless steel do I need?
Great videos! Thank you for explaining the electrical so many times! So if I wanted to have a coffee trailer I would need 240V 30 amps? Also what would you recommend for size of the trailer I should use? My truck can only tow 4K pounds max. Thanks.
@@fbaltierrez thanks bro! Can I stay with 120V 50 amp? Since I might add a boba machine too. Or should I just go to 240V? I remember you saying in one of your videos for a coffee truck you would use 240V. Probably because of the espresso machine? I’ll look in to solar panels too. Help with more energy
@@richiefromthebay yes sir, this all seems like hard work I don't know what I'm doing. Thinking about just purchasing I completeed trailer and calling it a day.
New to the channel. I want to build my own hotdog concession trailer. Do we have to use stainless steel on the walls? And i already started with the concession windows. I got them mounted on the driver's side of trailer,,is that side ok,,
Can I ask you what adapter you using so you can plug in an extension cord to run certain things inside the trailer from your outside plug instead of always having to have your generator plugged in
I would just buy this combination I'll link below with my Paid Amazon Links and buy an extension cord and cut one end off. I made a video about this a whole back don't know exactly which one tho.
I have a question. I’m building from a box truck and the walls are completely empty and have metal studs extending out from the wall essentially along all the sides. Do you recommend adding plywood to that like you have on yours? Or just drilling stainless steel straight to the metal studs?
Hi, I have a NV2500 cargo van and would like you to install a mobile kitchen in it. What is your cost to build it out? What information do you need from me?
Muy buen video Frank felicidades tengo una pregunta cómo se llama el equipo para poner el generador si me puedes pasar el nombre por favor Mil gracias y muchos éxitos
Hey buddy you reply to comments? Or is there another way to communicate with you? I'm trying to repair a buddy of mine's trailer like yours that was rear-ended and I've got some questions if you got a second
Hola amigo una pregunta compre mi hood system pero resulta que esta mas chico de la parte de enfrente se podra hacer una extensión no tengo mas dinero para comprar otro ya gaste 8000 en este
I was asking my buddy if he wanted to try and build one instead of buying, and he said we could but they would bust us for not having licenses/permits. Is that something needed when building or just once operating? Do you need a building permit or anything like that is a better question I guess
All depends on your city and fire department typically. Usually I would say they don't ask for a building permit like they would a house or a commercial brick and mortar. But like I mentioned depends on your city some don't let you do anything in your driveway
Wow the last food truck build ever 😩😩 I’m excited for what’s next 😎
Frank thanks lots for all your very valuable videos. Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 in the house.
Nice!!!!! The island life, one day I'll come visit you guys
hey man this has to be the greatest video about this stuff man keep up the great work and thanks for the helpful advice.
Highly respect your effort from San Francisco
to you guys commenting on more details Frank has back episodes the last year or two with more complete details on how he did it. lots of info on those

I been watcjyour videos am in the process of building a food truck. Could you please do a rundown and links for the cooking Equipment’s you have.
I use cooking performance group griddle and burner from Webstaurant
Following from asia.. Need more details. It's my dream to build a food truck
Outside of the truck or trailer, what's the most money you will need...roughly? I won't need oven or grill.
Hey Frank, what do you do with your generator for when it rains?
@Bats-DF22 to be honest nothing. It's nice and covered in the plastic exterior. But a generator tarp could help more
I’m considering to covert my food truck..I’m going to try to do it myself. Need advice…
@annapate9641 good morning, definitely found some good videos here. I have tried to show every step I have done. Comment on videos any questions
I've been watching your videos I'm about to start my own. Where can I find the piece of stainless steel to go behind my cooking equipment. Also what type of stainless steel do I need?
304 stainless steel mill finish. Call metal places around you would be the best suggestion
Do you recommend installing the hood in the front of the trailer where you are putting the three compartment sink?
That's the best place for my setup and has worked great I didn't want to be cooking in front of the window
Hey Frank awesome video I am going to start a food trailer project as when and was wondering how big is Big Red ? 7x12? Thank you.
Big Red 7x16 and 7 foot interior height

Do you have any videos or info about permits? Thanks!
Just the build requirements from the county, permits are event dependent. But the HD permit requirements the build yes that is available on thr series

Good question. Less than 7k lbs definitely
