    I was born in 1963. Zappa was my first introduction to Satire. I thank him for that daily. I can only hope his musical genius is recognized for many generations to come.

      Zappas Texte habe ich mir nie angesehen,und ich kenne nur die Hits.
      Aber mein Freund in den Achtzigern hat in Bands gespielt und Zappa war sein Guru.
      Es hat ihm sicher gefallen, wenn ich zu "Bobby Brown" getanzt hab.
      Freddie Mercury hat mir übrigens auch gefallen 😂

      That's because it has the line "Oh God, I am the American Dream" in it. That's like how George W wanted to use Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA as his campaign song. Anyway, my English was only good enough at around 25 to understand the lyrics and one night on a bit of weed me and a friend did. Boy, what did we laugh.

    They played this song over the P.A. before a Stevie Nicks show back in the 80's and enough people in the crowd cheered for it that the guy at the mixing board ramped up the sound to almost Concert level. A blast watching thousands of clueless Stevie Nicks fans' look of shock as the song progressed.

    If he was still with us he would be turning 80 this year. I first heard him around '69. Still a kid then not grasping all of his lyrics but picked up on them as time went on. This was one of his best albums that he put out. R.I.P. Frank.

      Similar I was youngish about 14yrs 1970 and started listening to allkinds think I was about 15/16, when I first heard Zappa & the Mothers at someone's house. Loved the guitar and the satire from day one. Think if was Freak Out and Hot Rats at first ❤️still listen to Zappa today Billy the Mountain from Just another Band from L. A. takes me back and still makes me laugh x I could go on RIP FZ x

      really...you have my sympathies but better late than never. welcome to the world of frank zappa . sheik yourboti(,the album bobby brown is from) isn't the only album he's made...not by a long shot ...if your really interested. go back to 1966 to his first album with his group "the mothers of invention" and work your way up .. there's a literal hell's half acre of material to cover but you have my guarantee as a fan and a musician you will be not disappointed ....if bobby brown made you laugh your ass off.....songs like hungry freaks,daddy,,let's make the water turn black,,trouble every day,,lumpy gravy, hot rats,don't eat the yellow snow,,stink foot,apostrophe,,Stevie's spanking and more material that will make you laugh and think ...that's the beauty of zappa....welcome to his world ....

    In 1991 i was at the university and we lived with 4 in one house. One roommate was a huge Zappa fan. Every morning a Zappa song would blast through the house. One day we were at a party and the DJ played Bobby Brown There were 8 people on the dancefloor chilling out, me, my roommates and our partners

    Why is he so so underrated. Never heard this song on ANY of our local radio stations. I know that Zappa's most songs are not fit for radio play, he even knew that, but this song is so catchy, lovely lyrics. Hilarious but at the same time gives a strong message to the audience.

    I was at a Buffalo Bills game , got there early , and the marching band ( from OHIO as I recall ), came out to practice ...they played a medley of Frank Zappas greatest hits ...Bobby Brown was one ... The halftime show was great !!! . They were so good they came out for an encore after the game was over . I can't believe I stayed for the whole thing .

    Es war im Winter, Anfang der 80er Jahre als ein Trupp amerikanischer Soldaten ihre Panzer parkten und verfroren in unsere Dorfkneipe kamen um sich aufzuwärmen. Und ich weiß es noch wie heute das einer der Jungs nach kurzem überfliegen der Titel der Jukebox eine Münze einwarf. Und es war dieser Song! Schon seltsam an welch unwichtigen Dinge man sich erinnert ☺

    :) I'm really happy there´s people of my age who listen to frank zappa. When I was younger my father spent all the time listening to him a then asked me to sing along.

    I've loved this song since I first heard it, over 20 years ago now. One of the most varied and talented people ever. Nice video that's been put together for this song too :)

    reminds me of being at Brighton Poly in the 80'S when my friend and campus neighbour Gillian played this to me .. I couldn't believe it at the time I was so shocked .. what innocent days

    Kind of interesting that the song was way more successful in Europe than in the US due to censorship on US- Radio stations. I persenally love it.

      Part of it was to do with most people over there didn't quite get the lyrics entirely. It was just a smooth romantic tune lmao

      I was a young adult in the US when this came out and I never heard it on the radio. When I studied in Germany in 1993-94 (sadly, Frank died when I was there) I was introduced to it, and have loved it ever since.

    Perfect lyrics to dedicate at people who are rich (even not rich people) famous and follow all "laws" and they fear to "Break" all the rules.
    Everytime i listen this song, i think Frank write this to me for remember me that i'm surrounded to this kind of people!
    By the way, i miss people like Frank Zappa that complain everything in the right way!
