- Skike, the original cross skates. Cross-country nordic skiing in summer and winter! Cross-country nordic skiing in summer and winter! A Skike is a sports device consisting of two wheels attached to a frame that can be strapped onto the rider's shoe. Similarly to roller skis, the Skike has a wheel in front and at the tail of an aluminum frame that can be attached to the foot. However, unlike roller skis and roller skates the tires are pneumatic.
The name Skike is a combination of skate and bike. The Skike rider moves forward in a skating motion, usually with poles, similarly to normal Cross Country Skate Skiing.
Unlike on the roller skates and inline skates, Skikes use a pair of large 15-cm (5.9 in) wheels shod in inflatable tires -- that's where the "bike" part comes in. They're also considerably longer than the foot, with the wheels placed at the very front and very back, connected by a lightweight frame. Instead of the full shoe of other skate designs, Skike's design is more open and light, using a series of three straps to secure foot to frame, and a braking system providing stopping power. They're designed to be used for both street and light off-road applications (think smooth paths).
One of the latest models, the Skike V8 adds a heel-lift system, giving Skikers the option of regular skating or diagonal stride skating. Skikers can open or lock the heel lift on the fly with a toggle switch.
The skates are designed to be used with poles in a sort of warm-weather version of cross country/Nordic skiing. With Skike, 90 percent of your muscle mass is worked, providing a fun, complete workout. - Спорт
I’m 35 with osteoarthritis in one knee and this gave me hope that I might still be able to be active for a long time with a knee replacement
I happened to be browsing fb marketplace a few days ago looking for something completely unrelated to these… and i saw a pair of SRB XRS07 pop up for $700 used!! Holy begezus! I googled them and wow - ever since i saw those, I’ve been trying to learn what these cross skates are. I’ve seen some of the cheaper ones that are roller ski’s w/ polyurethane wheels which those seem cool strictly for paved surfaces… but if i want to go on trails or grass, I’m looking into all terrain wheeled (pneumatic) ones. So i only know of a few diff brands right now: Skike, Powerslide, Nordic X but i have no idea where to start.
I am 210 lbs and alot of these cross skate frames have a max load capacity of 220lbs. I don’t want to break them lol… but i do want to do this to help lose weight. I have to have a low impact activity due to my plantar fasciitis. I walk my dog but it’s not enough. The only sport i loved and used to do was cross country skiing when i was younger. I actually would like to take that back up again. I am in NY and it’s winter time for us now so i am googling where i can go to get sized on ski’s… However I REALLY want a pair of these cuz I could totally do this the rest of the non-winter months. I love going in the park and on trails so this would be a cool, and fun way to explore and lose weight.
(I’m 43 going on 44.)
oh wow. I want a pair.
Thanks for effort,people!
wirklich sehr gut gelungenes Promotion-Video
perfekt auf die Musik abgestimmt!!
Parov Stelar passt (fast) immer :-) Lässiges Video!
This looks so fun!
You commented on the same video "this looks so stupid". What is it then?
Wow, nice :-)
Odlično! Good choice of music
I found this by chance, guys advertise these more! I would have bought these (cheapest around 200 euro) instead of buying 100 euro roller skates with which its extremely dangerous when it comes to speed, and I am using the skates for the feel of speed.
And the skikes/cross skates - long lasting tire, with a reusable safe breaking system, offroad possibility, if I found it sooner....I will definitely buy them when I save some cash.
+Tsvetomir Iliev 1. you can get used, near-mint condition inline skates for 15 euro 2. they are not "extremely dangerous" - learning how to brake is the very first thing a noob should do 3. you can ride them in many more locations than this oversized skike thing
@@clray123 Well, inline skates seem to be only good for roads, while thise skikes are great for off road and the top speed is close to that of a (slow) race bike. Besides that, inline skates are banned in a lot of locations where they would be useful.
Is it possible to go with a 20 kg backpack? Will you be less tired when using skike than walking?
...uphill looks quite challenging. If most of your path is flat or downhill, you will save effort.
Where can I buy these in Belgium ?
What's this song? It has a good beat and you can dance to it.
where can i buy an electric pair with 4wd?
Where can i get a pair
Somebody should tell these folks about the bicycle.
Is this filmed in Spain?
anneich0 Ibiza.....you can see es Vedra
What is the name of this song?
where are the advantages over inline skates?
Offroading
They are training aids for cross country skiing
or you could like just get roller blades
does cross-country mean 95% roads and 5% country? nope! this Skike is not for real cross-country!
That name is super questionable lol...
You Monetized (put ads on) your own sales video? Don't you want people to buy YOUR product?
as an inline skater i hate this type of skating but i respect u...sport is sport (yours is ugly but nevermind) !!
Skike was my first cross roller ski. The quality was extra poor. I have SRB 03s since then, completely different story, they are made to last. If you reaaly want to do this sport, get a different brand than Skike.
This looks so stupid
