- A quick overview of the history of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Check out this quick overview of the history of the Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church, following the major Biblical prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation. This is an exert (film trailer) from a documentary called 'Go Forward' produced by The Final Movement, on early Christian church history, the Protestant Reformation of the Christian church, and the history and development of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church and its end-time message. It focusses on "The Great Commission" where Jesus instructs His disciples to take the Gospel message of the Good News of Christ into all the world, baptising people and making more disciples. The spread of Christianity is the sharing of the Good News of Jesus death and resurrection. Jesus is coming back soon.
The documentary "Go Forward" was produced by The Final Movement (www.thefinalmovement.com) for the NNSW Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Go Forward narration by SDA Pastor Allan Lindsay (Keepers of the Flame series).

So you say Sabbath keeping is not a Commandment.
Here is Exodus 20 which has the Ten Commandments. Here are the first four.
Exodus 20:1-17 And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
True not eating meat is not a New Testament doctrine. As far as I know most will not go to hell for eating meat. May die young. But those who are convicted and do it anyway are in trouble. Remember the discussion about food offered to idols.
Soul sleep is in the Bible. I will give you evidence. But it is not a issue about salvation. Unless you can show me in the Bible that not believing in an eternal torture is a sin? Soul sleep and Annihilation are linked.
That all are judged is in the Bible. We just had a word to the title.
Romans 2:1-29 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
1Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
2Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
Jude 1:15 ,16 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
Agreed love is fulfilling of the law. I love GOD so I love spending Sabbath in special time with him.

It's been 6 years since you wrote your comment. I hope you're doing well. I recommend the book 'The Great Controversy' (by Ellen White). It was the book that opened my eyes, and through reading it, I truly understood the phrase 'God is love'.

The term Catholic Church has been in use since around AD 107 - AD 108, spoken of by Ignatius of Antioch... long before Emperor Constantine converted and made Christianity legal in AD 313

Well, we will have to agree to disagree my friend.
I find it kind of funny that you say this, because when I was a Protestant I used to think the same. But to my surprise, when I started to studied more, I looked at the Bible with fresh eyes and I found that the Catholic Church and what they teach can be backed up by scripture.
All my time as a Protestant I was taught the Catholic Church was evil, that the Pope was the antichrist.
Could you imagine, LETS SAY FOR ARGUMENTS SAKE, (IF), the Catholic Church was the one true Church, that could be backed up by scripture, that would mean all those people who heavily disrespected it would be disrespecting the Church that Christ Himself founded, and in the process disobeying Him without realizing.

So from what I understand from your last comment, you don't think that throughout the history of the Church there have been any good Pope's at all.

The first Pope of course, was Saint Peter.
The second Pope was, Saint Linus who is also mentioned by name once in the Bible.

Remember that all Pope's are human, they also make mistakes.
But know that there are good and bad Pope's... and they come and go like everyone else, despite this the Church still remains firm.

@@Jordan-1999 Sorry that I gave the impression there were no good popes. There have been good popes. But a line of succession must have all good points. Not a mixture. All popes and Bishops must adhere to the rule.
The RCC claims Peter as the first pope. But there were many Bishops back then. The RCC was just part of the one church with different Bishops. Which is PreSchism. All who were equal from Peter in the doctrine of the Early Church.
Ask any Orthodox.
1. They replaced the Bible as the final authority with tradition above the Bible. Such as saying a Bishop could be a terrible servant of Satan but Papal succession would remain. When the Bible states to be a Bishop the person must be a good Christian.
Titus 1:7-9 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
1Timothy 3:2-7 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Am asking myself two questions. How does Martin Luther qualify as being sent by God when his seal that he used to send his letters was of the ancient order of the "Rose and Cross"?
Secondly, why would you think Jesus is coming back ever at all if he did not come in 1844 or all the other years where false predictions were made?
David Pragmo it is better to live a life with hope than living hopeless. if Jesus would never come as what you've said, it's not a loss for us. but the question is, What if He will? What will happen to you who never waited(prepared) for His coming?

Constatine never became christian. He was baptised as an Arian. In the council of Nicea the debate was about the true substance of christ. This was Arianism against christianity. Arians believed that God and christ are made up two different substances thereby, christ is a creature or a created. Christians argued that christ and god are the same substance thereby being one. Constantine was baptised as an Arian not a Christian. He wanted peace as a political motive. He never prosecuted christians and made it illegal to do so. Get your facts right. Constantine never delved into church leadership. Even though the Christians won in theology whereby most of the bishops of Arian agreed with the notion that Jesus and god is one two Bishops along with Arian hold steadfast to their opinion. Political powers was given to Arian as that is where Constantine sympathies lied. However Christians began to enjoy freedom of worship.

Iam_ JuCyyy2nd Sunday worship will be the mark of the beast when a national Sunday law is enacted in the United States and then the world according to Revelation 13. There will be Sunday worshipers who will embrace the 3 angels message, since God has called everyone out of Babylon according to Revelation 18. We are saved through grace but judged according to our works James 2:24-25. Thus when we have faith in Jesus, we will show our Love to Him by keeping his commandments John 14:15, which includes all 10, including the Sabbath and not Sunday.

“Day after day, passing into eternity, bears its burden of records for the books of heaven. Words once spoke, deeds once done, can never be recalled….our acts, our words, even our most secret motives, all have their weight in deciding our destiny for weal or woe. Though they may be forgotten by us, they will bear their testimony to justify or condemn. They go before us into the judgment.”
If we take these words of EGW at face value not only here but it dozens of other places, we seem to have a contradiction to the plain teaching of Scripture. How do I deal with this problem.
1. Both Jesus and Paul said I would never face the condemnation of judgment. (John 5:24, Rom. 8:1, and the believer will not ever perish. (John 10:28)
2. In Jeremiah 31:34, Hebrews 8:12, 10:17, the central tenant for the New Covenant that God makes with His believers is that God will not and cannot remember our sin ever again.
3. If I am made perfect in His sight “once and for all time”, why should any future sin bring any possibility of condemnation and were not all my sins yet future when Christ died for me?
4. If a believer is already “sealed by the Spirit until the day of redemption”……and “blessed with every spiritual blessing” (Eph. 4:30. 1:3) why do I need further review by Jesus at the Investigative Judgment to determine if I am “worthy of eternal life?”
5. Does not Romans 8 say that I am already justified and glorified?
6. If Titus 3:5 says that salvation is “not by works of righteous which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us”, how can our works be a factor in salvation as EGW says they are?

Living as a Seventh-Day Adventist in a non-Adventist world is difficult and challenging because the Sabbath must be observed literally from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown and sometimes conflicts with jobs like "overtime" that you have to work even after Friday sunset. They also refused to take exams during the Sabbath that here in the Philippines during my time the NCEE (National College Entrance Examination) was moved from Saturday to Sunday because of that.

The Sabbath is excluded from the commandments of Christ. He is our rest as seen in Collossians chapter 2 etc. Keeping the Sabbath is putting yourself under the Old Covenant and trampling on his grace.

I agree w/most of your information, except you got the year wrong or turned around when Constantine embraced Christianity that was 321 AD, not 312... I hope this was not on purpose. Because it throws the 2300 - Day prophecy in the book of Daniel off, which it is meant for our time... The only sealed prophecy, which points to the cleansing of the SANCTUARY, which of course started in October 22, 1844. Since then we are living a typical Day of Atonement (Judgement Day). This is critical to understand in order to know our past, present times & our future. May Our Lord Jesus help us all and give us wisdom, which is ONLY found in His Word (the Bible KJV). Maranatha!!!

I appreciate the apology. However the date given in your video does have a great cause in the times we are living in, especially when it comes to TIME & DATES. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "WATCH & PRAY" and let NO MAN deceive you. I take this to heart, because this is the same reason why our CREATOR throughout the BIBLE gives us dates. Question: How would we know the time of the birth of our Messiah, his Crucifixion, his Baptism, his Resurrection and soon his 2nd Coming if the DATES are WRONG?
This is for the same reason why uneducated people celebrate - Christmas on December 25th, Easter, Pentecost among other so called "holy days" in the religious realm. Because globally we are following the Gregorian calendar, instead of the Julian calendar, which is what we should have been following all along. But it is for the very same reason because the very last prophecy of Daniel 8:14 had to be yet unlocked and it has in the year 1844... This is what brings us to the Prophecy fulfillment of the 2300 days. When Jesus moved from the Holy Place to, the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary. People that are NOT watching closely are caught-up in Pagan celebrations such as the ones I named above. So, again... Dates are of high importance in this matter. May the God of heaven bless you and your loved ones and anoint your eyes with heavenly eye sight, to understand without a doubt the times that you (we all) are living in - Our Salvation lies on the stream of time.
