Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure, exploration and factory automation elements where you can build your own galactic industrial empire from scratch.
Every playthrough will be unique: your universe will be procedurally generated every time you start a new game. There will be different types and distribution of stars, planets and resources. Will you manage to thrive and build your Spheres, no matter what the universe throws at you?
As a space engineer, you are expected to design your interstellar factory and production lines, not to micromanage every small package going back and forth. You have to transport materials from one planet to another, forming interstellar transport teams that gather resources and bring them to where they are needed.
Then, your resources can be transported between facilities through conveyor belts, and you’ve got the technology to help your buildings fit the grid automatically during the construction process. You’ve got the best tools COSMO can afford to build a massive-scale automated production line - the most efficient one ever seen in the universe!

The Advisor is the true enemy of the Dark Fog update. ;)
Rushing Steel Upgrade is a must now cause it unlock the ability to place wind turbine on ocean.

You can control click to pick stuff off the belts. You don't have to click and use the GUI.
Very excited to watch a new playthrough! I had been watching your last let's play, which made me buy the game. I just made purple science, which is exciting! Can't wait to try with dark fog active later.

Got to remember its a chinese game that's got heaps of translation mistakes, and looks like they didn't get the same voice for the battle assistant. Mute announcer is your friend
Quite disappointed because of the assistant voices jumping volume, It is so bad Lmao but understandable.
Didn't realize it was Chinese. It looked like such a fun resource management game too.
Sounds like the new assistant is an AI voice. Also keep in mind that DSP is still in Early Access. Hopefully for the full release they'll redo the translations and voice work.

With DSP it's all about energy. Resources are abundant, the key to an efficient star cluster is energy management.
This isn’t some story driven game full of dialogue. Idk there isn’t really an excuse to not fix it nor is there an excuse to get really upset over it. Completely fine to criticize and move on.
For the conveyor vs turrets i think it was just saying that you can do it in either order -- first lay down conveyor and then add turrets, or first place turrets and then put the conveyor underneath.
If you put down the conveyor first, such that it fills will ammunition, then the turret auto loads when you put it down, and will fire when powered. Look up the Trident Method for taking out bases
Been waiting for this update since day 0. I have never seen such a well build adversary system.
Wow I haven't played this in like 2 years. The feels are intense! Sad that they used AI voice and not the same actor. Their voice is so tied to my DSP experience.
There's was an original voice actor? With the broken English and how similar he sounded to an AI Narrator in training videos I've done, I assumed they just used Google translate and fed that straight into the text boxes and an AI Narrator for the voice stuff, no English speaking persons involved.
Apparently this has been updated in the public version of the game. I'm playing an early build in this episode.

You probably figured this out but when they say use less than and greater than, what they really meant was comma and period .... that works
Yeah, my Swedish keyboard has different mappings
early game use wind turbines as power relays and Tesla towers only when you need them. With the Dark fog update you need to rush the Gauss turret. The energy cannon is a pea shooter compared to the cannon, so having Ballistic Ammo loaded early makes dealing with the Dark Fog much easier.

You make an interesting point about the speed at which the robot moves in early game; unlike in Dredge where the lack of speed early on increases the inherent anxiety of the game itself (and you notice many small unique things going slow), there is no reward in Dyson Sphere other than the exhaustion of grinding.
Indeed. It's kind of how I feel in Factorio with the slow walk speed and no bots. There is no benefit to moving slow in a factory game where you need to place 1000s of entities.

Been looking forward to this update although I do think that I might struggle with my dislike of cue balling planets and leaving coastlines as intact as possible.
`No need. You can just use the natural landmass. There's plenty of space
22:40 the better way to pickup items from a belt or from an Container without having to open it is strg + left click on that thing. With that you grab all its contents. Same as in factorio
You don't need to raise the level of belts, they automatically raise themselves as you drag over the existing ones.
There are occasions when you need to do so, like sometimes in tight corners
Someone may have mentioned this already but I did not see it in fast look. If you have Swedish keyboard use , and . instead of < and >. They are exactly at same position than < and > in US keyboard. Games use usually raw key codes which depends on position of key on keyboard and not local meaning. You will detect this problem many times in many games with Swedish (or any other non English) keyboard.
The issue is that what it says in the game is WRONG. They should be able to detect the keyboard as it is and use the correct symbols.

You can actually pick things up from the belt using the same hotkey as picking up from a building.
I am curious as to why you call them "Wind Mines" Instead of "Wind Turbines" The thought of you Mining Wind makes no sense to me but it did make me laugh when I first heard you say it. Love listening to your voice and love the video.
You've found the answer yourself! I am an entertainer ;-) Also, mining the wind makes perfect sense. You mine power from wind. The origin of this phrase comes from me playing Knights & Merchants many moons ago when they talked about wood mines.... and since then, I realize that ANYTHING can be mined!
I had trouble copying recipes for the longest time as well, mostly since I don't have dedicated keys for those characters on my keyboard. BUT, in case you haven't been informed yet, you can use ',' and '.' for copying and pasting, respectively... even though there's no keybinds for them. 🤷♂

a tip for everyone else: Mine the trees for wood and leaves to load into the mecha for early energy until you have a miner on the coal patch.
Also you lose an Achievement if you mine the capsule.
Yeah, that's pretty underhanded of the devs... the tutorial literally tells you to mine the capsule, but you lose the achieve...
Well, placing miners on iron, Cooper and coal is usually the first thing I do, than place boxes next to them that can be remove than I have enough conveyors to put them where I need them.
But this way I can get bstches of Material fast ans early, including coal to burn.
As soon as graphite is available I switch, but for start, the coal miner evn if not connected is very usefull to not loose time harvesting trees

I usually try to hold off until a game is out of early access but I am really struggling not playing this now.
fyi.. when crafting by hand, things like the chips make 2 per craft so if you need 10, you only need to craft 5. Just noticed a few times you saw that you needed 10 of something, and instead of choosing 5 did 10. Doesn't hurt to have extra stuff but for those that are new...

No, trees would take ages to grow (to be realistic), and you progress quickly from early game fuel, so I think people would never use it.

It annoys me that they STILL have those placeholder models for the various natural resources. I get that modeling those small details is tough, but it's been how long since the game was first released into early access?
Placeholders? I think those are the final graphics. They look like ores to me...
@@KatherineOfSky The nodes, I can see having final graphics, but the extracted unprocessed ores just look like blocks with the ore icons applied to them on the conveyer belts. That's kind of what I was getting at.
@@DumbrarereI believe those are finished graphics also. Everything is boxes, I think for the ease of coding / simplicity of the look, and fitting on the belts in orderly lines
@@KatherineOfSky Ah. I would have expected something along the lines of open crates, where you can see the extracted ore on the belts, vs having the chunks on the belt (ala Satisfactory or Factorio) or streams of the material (ala Captain of Industry).
I still find it annoying that we've got what we've got in the game because it feels like a placeholder (most of the new voice lines done by TTS I can tell are definitely placeholders), but I won't argue if this is the direction the devs went. That said, thoroughly enjoying this series thus far.
I haven't played this game in a while, but you used to be able to pick up items from belts by pressing Ctrl+LMB. Have they changed that?

Multiplayer when?!? - love DSP, seriously wish it had multiplayer to play with friends and family in the same galaxy etc. (could be team or against)

Reminder that the devs of the game are Chinese and don't have the best grasp of English. They did polish the tutorial texts a bit, but it still needs work...and re-recording with the new lines.
I'm quite aware, but they have made a staggering number of sales of the game and it's within reason to expect a higher level of attention to detail. As I say in another episode, I am willing and available to help them with the localization. Even start up indie games have a lot better localization, as they get volunteers to crowd-work it for free.

Also annoying issue I have bell icon white for all notices and nothing pinged me ungh.
The first press of < never works for me. I have to press it 2-3 times with the building open for it to start working. After that it all works fine.
I'll try that, though now I just fancy clicking the eyedropper for copy/paste anyway

Mechanic Energy Program? Wait, so is the lore now that these were the previous energy harvesting program before the Dyson Sphere Program and they went rogue? I suppose that explains why you're a human mind downloaded into Icarus instead of just an AI, always found that part of the lore curious.
I get why people dont use infinite resouce settings, as its a skill thing. But im not as good as everyone else at these things. So i use infinite resources and copy building ways from more talented people

12:20 Unfortunately it takes time and money to rerecord dialogue, and a lot of game companies can't even afford to correct existing dialogue. There's some mobile games that don't even have voice and they don't bother to update past content...

They can. Uncheck the enemy forces box when picking your starting system.
Just uncheck thrm before start, if you did not, Well, where is n item to deactivate thrm, it is called the missile launcher. Each missile Set produced is 25 good arguments than negotiating with thrm
Destroying their base is their end on that Planet.
Well, where is a space hub, but also a planetry shield.
i think their text to speech needs some work for the advisor for the new content... kind of sad that they let some of these types of mispronunciations and bugs get past QR...

It's been changed in the update, just not in preview build that KoS is playing.
