Telling you to watch the Color Purple is a crazy homework assignment for this comedy lol... It's a good movie, but it mostly is just trauma porn for us black people.
@senjumix2710 Me either... And it is probably a little easier to digest since it's a musical. But still... I've seen the original way too many times already. Black men, in general, are portrayed pretty terribly. I don't think that I can get into now as an adult male. The wife was watching the new one, and it seems ok the few scenes I watched but, nah...
@@Wizznilliam I hear that movie "Fences" is similar. As a black adult male I just can't do it. I know there are black men like that but the world use that character type as a lens to actually view us in media and life so its hard for to watch stuff like that since it is meant to take itself seriously.
You have to remember Ruckus is telling this story of his birth so..........there are probably........embellishments, hell outright lies if you will, and exaggerations of some characters lol.
One of the greatest episodes of all time 😂😂😂😂😂 I shouldn’t even laughing at the abuse of Ruckus and his father but Chris and the guys historical humor makes it too tempting to hold back tears🥲🥲🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
While I now understand why Rukus is the way he is, and I do feel sorry for him, I still would happily kick his ass for all of his racist bullshit. Also I can’t believe he compared his “condition” with the Venom Symbiote🤣🤣.
Fights with co creators, companies, critics, fans, people calling a 20 year old show problematic instead of opening an actual discussion, failed movie, failed tv shows, etc., etc. Left him bitter as fuck.
I figured everyone on the right side of the couch has seen The Color Purple 😅. If y'all are gonna watch it I would say watch the original one for those who have never seen that story. The new one was good but the original is the one people know of more and quote 🤔. References in this episode that I found though I could be missing some others: Mister was the name of the main antagonist from that film. The scene where Ruckus is dragged away by Mister is somewhat similar to the scene where Celie's sister is dragged away from her, and the razor blade the grandma had I guess is also referencing when Celie was tempted to kill Mister with a razor while shaving him.
When I first saw this, it makes perfect sense of why Uncle Ruckus is the way he is. It was the combination of his father’s abuse and his mother’s mental manipulation. Because of him being mistreated harshly by the Americans, Mister took all of his anger out on his own family, especially to his firstborn son. Plus, with his mother being insanely protective and ignorant, she made him believe into something that he clearly isn’t. The only great thing about it is that both of his brothers turned out to be good because they too suffered by his hand and unlike their mother, they were more than aware of the situation firsthand. The one thing that struck me is what Darrel said about their upbringing that although none of them deserve the cruelty they had to endure, it made them more open-minded and be better people than their parents ever will be. One would think that after this, Ruckus would change his ways but unfortunately, all of that nonsense is far too ingrained in his mind that it’s irreversible.
Amazing episode , one of the best and so god damn hilarious I love Uncle Rukas and his family and I love how straight they play all of it makes it even better (grandma, mom, dad, and two other brothers) Its sad that amazing comedy like this is getting cancelled and censored in the USA.
Django Unchained's character Stephen Warren is based on Mister Ruckus . Ruckus needed was therapy. Ruckus says his father was abusive and terrible. His mom was insane, delusional, and telling lies that he was adopted despite the fact that his family is his biological family and lying to Uncle Ruckus that he was white. Ruckus was born black not white. His brothers were able to break the cycle and understand what's going on and they were the only sane members of this family and have good lives. the opening of Uncle's white father abandoning him was really a lie that his mother made up. Mister did nothing about it when Uncle's mom raising and lying to him. Uncle inherited his parents and his grandmother's worst traits. Sadly, Uncle Ruckus is too delusional and too ignorant to realize his mother lied to him and he failed to understand how white people treated his father and how horrible Jim Crow Era was. Uncle Ruckus still believes his "white parents" are out there and hoping one day they'll come back for him so he can be reunited, but his white parents were never real. Nelly and Mister are in Hell together. One day, Bunny and Uncle will be in Hell as well. Uncle Ruckus is a cautionary tale
Thank you, guys! I really appreciate your reaction, you were clearly having a lot of fun! This is my second favourite episode of all the serie! Thanks!
1 in 4 people depart from heart disease and 1 in 8 will go in their sleep. Sleep apnea is also one of the top causes that leads to croaking in your sleep. Movies & tv lie about the concept of leaving peacefully.
There's no way that the couch's critical thinking skills are so low that they thought this tale told by Ruckus was the actual truth of his life. C'mon man.
I genuinely did not know Rukus’ first name was Unkle. Also I was worried that this show was gonna completely ignore the episode where Rukus’ found out he was 100% black and then was tricked into believing that he was only half black.
Ruckus is a really fucked up character so they had to great an equal to or greater than fucked up family and backstory to give him, just for an ounce of sympathy.
Then you remember he was going to allow an 8 year get murdered and left two kids in a room full of convicts in prison who went on a eulogy about raping male ass cheeks
