GIRL, don’t sleep on Mission Valley! There’s so many newer apartments with beautiful finishings also and it’s way more central than La Jolla and DT. It’s in the middle of two malls and is 10 mins from the beach, 10 mins from North Park, & 10mins from DT. I always felt safe there as I was living there in my early 20s. :)
I live in University Heights and always dread having to drive to mission valley, there are great apartment options but the highways and roads around there drive me bonkers!
Hey Alexandra! I like the skyscraper apartments the best! That metropolitan feel always takes my breath away. By the way, I just enrolled at Full Sail University in the web development program. Your channel was a huge help in making this decision! Thanks so much! Good luck on the move!
I like a place with a Patio Balcony so that when you are done BAR-B-QUE-ing you can dump the Hot Charcoal off the side railing. Saves time on cleaning up a B-B-Q and you don't have to wait for the coals to cool off. Just my thoughts.
I have a job offer in San Diego, but live in the Midwest. I won’t be able to physically see the place before I rent one, but thinking either by UTC or pacific beach. First job out of college so pretty nervous yet excited. Hope you enjoy SD and I’ll be joining the beautiful city this summer!
San Diego is a nice size medium city that feels like a small town. Everyone kinda knows each other or often runs into someone they know when they are out. This can be good or bad depending on the situation. Downtown SD does have a higher crime rate than the rest of San Diego, so you can use crime mapper to see the statistics for your desired address. I would suggest 4 weeks or higher when doing that research. If you are a young adult in your 20's (GenZ/ Generation Z) Pacific Beach is where a majority of people that age live.
Can you please provide names of apartments as well? I am moving to San Diego soon but I can not find apartments with these views for those prices that you showed. Thank you!
If you really want to start saving for a house for when/if the prices of housing comes down, you really should get a roommate and get something less posh/new than a downtown apartment with bay views or La Jolla.
The DT high rises are amazing. Big water views would seal the deal for me. They seem to tick all the boxes too. The towers are nice because many have amenities like pools, gyms, etc. I think they are safer too. DT is nice because there’s access to so much from there, including nightlife. Coaster train a short walk away giving you access to beautiful North SD County beach towns. If you can swing the elevated rent #1 or # 3 would be my choice
Hi love!! Could you tell me the name of the first building since you didn’t move in there?! We’re thinking of moving to San Diego and I love it!! Thank you😭💖
Agreed! I’m under 2,000 for a 3392 square feet home in Texas. I do sometimes wish I lived in Cali. For your age, I would focus on the view. Since you’ll be inside (pandemic), I would say you’ll be safe.
I live in San Diego and all I can say is... in order to live nice here you have to either be making $200k/year or dual income with a spouse. Shitty reality.
I live near Charlotte, NC and a 2 bed would be about a little more than half of what it is in Cali. You could prolly even buy a studio for around $800 - $1000 in a decent neighborhood.
Really love the content and concept.... Just came across your channel and loved it. Just leaving my support with BIGGG Likee and subbed... Stay blessed
What do you do for a living that you are able to afford $2,700 a month for an apartment at your age? Prices in San Diego are ridiculous. $2,400 for a one bedroom? insane. I remember 10 years ago when you could rent a whole 3 bedroom single family home for less than that.
@@Shes.A.Sagittarius I’m in the healthcare field at 22, I do phlebotomy in a hospital at 28 am hour, boyfriend is in construction 29 an hour, it adds up together. I’ll finish my sonography program December 2024 and will be making 50-90$ an hr after
I liked apartment 2. Also, thanks for sharing I’m new to San Diego from New York, I just moved into a renovated garage apartment (u can check out my before and after if ur interested on my channel). Im eventually looking to move to a different area around the summer time. This video was good to see what’s out there aside from Zillow and apartment finder. Thanks for sharing!
Look to see what apartment I got: ua-cam.com/video/scc8nxeUev4/v-deo.html
Apartment #3 definitely looks the most promising to me. Hope you’re enjoying San Diego! (Undoubtedly the best city in Cali)
Thank you and agreed ! 😅
Love that you included prices! ☺

Lol ~2700usd for apartment is insane. How much is an average software engineering pay after tax in this area ?
I bet 60-80k
Most of my friends who work as a software engineer in SD area earn about 130K.
