    Thanks. Wife's car was blowing cold enough but no where near as strong enough. Followed your tutorial, fixed it in about 40 minutes total, and now I am a hero. Blowing strong again.Thanks again!

    I was determined to keep even pace with you since I’ve done this once before. Well, I struggled from the start and after finding a squirrel’s nest in the cabin fan, I had to press pause... Thanks for still being there when I was ready, I kind of feel like we’re friends now.

    What a Pain in the Ass to replace the Cabin Air Filter in a 99 Accord. Glad I now have a 2014 Accord, Much Easier to replace, No Tools Needed just your hands, takes 5 minutes Max. In fact it's so easy a cave man can do it.

    Hi, Thanx for the video,it was really helpful, I just want to add that if you have the EX model,you have extra nuts to take out in the center console that holds the ashtray,take the astray out and it will be small nuts under the metal bracket,once out you can take the nut holding the long piece of plastic below the glove box.

    Thank you for the informative video. I replaced the cabin air filters but since I have everything opened already, is that the AC evaporator on the left side of cabin air filter? I am planning to use the Klima Air Conditioner cleaner and it says to spray onto the AC evaporator. Have you tried/seen this before in order to remove the moldy/musty smell from the cabin when A/C is turned on?

  • @Ottonic6
    @Ottonic6 7 років тому +5

    On the upper metal brace you only have to remove the 3 screws,1 on each end and the one in the middle. You can tell by the indentation in the brace behind them, no need to remove the brace itself.... Also be carefull when pulling out the lower dash panel. If it has been a while since it was taken out (like mine. Never) you might want to use a pry tool on the bottom clips so you don't break it. Be patient..

    It's a good idea after removing the 2 filter sleeves (5:10) to go in with a vacuum and crevice tool to clean out the compartment before putting in the new filters. Using a thin long blade flat screwdriver also helps loosen debris (bugs) within. Yes, you'll find bugs in there .... many bugs.

      This is not typical of many vehicles. Only this accord. Unless you have no money and extra time, or are already working in that area, pay for it to be done. Buy the filter though. People laugh when I say I don't do this myself (I did once). But my back wouldn't be able to handle this much crouching for a damn filter.

    🌴🇵🇷 hello I watch your video on the air conditioning..my car is a 1999 Honda Accord ex 4 cylinder air hasn't work a mechanic put feron u don't know if it was R134a fuel for the air door doesn't so .the most common reason could be a clogged filter ,cooling fan problem, resistor trouble,or it could simply be that it need to recharge,(regar) your air conditioning..

    Anyone who watches this thinks this is difficult, try cleaning a plugged up evaporator on a vehicle with no cabin filter. These filters are for a very good reason, it's a shame they didn't make these things a long long time ago.

      I guess no good way to provide easier access and still have a glove box. Was that like 12 screws, or more? I lost count. And I'm not going to do it. Screw it.

      There's another video showing how it's done ... full of omissions. But the best part was putting in new filters without first putting them in the white plastic holders (5:15).

    28 screws, 3 panels, two brackets, and a the removal of the glove box...
    Just to change a disposable filter?
    What a design fail, and a 'fuck you' to their customers.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  7 років тому +1

      yeah, this is the worst design ever for a cabin air filter lol. But ever since 2003 and up, their cabin air filter access is much much better.

  • @jamescc2010

    at 2:36 I cannot remove the lower panel. It is too tight as it something are still connect to it, and I don't want to break it.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  9 років тому +1

      James Chuaycham you just have to pull it straight down and out because its held on by strong clips, and the clips tend to get old and rusty so it'll be stuck in there good. Just use some muscle to pull it off, you won't break anything.

    This is insane for a cabin air filter. It's as if Honda asked German engineers from Mercedes Benz and Audi to design their cabin air filter installation process.

    The one thing I don't like about my 1999 Accord's design is this, just about 19 steps to change the cabin airfilter!. Not even Jiffy Lube will touch it. I have another car, a Subaru. It's one step, unlatch the glove box. 🤣🤣🤣
