Yes I’m keen as well. I used to love cosrx aloe and klairs soft airy, but they both have fragrance so I’ve begrudgingly stopped using them.
Krave is quite good, but expensive and often sold out.

I used the first one that the doctor reviewed, the Shiseido Senka ( yellow-orange tube). It felt amazing on my face, a velvety-soft finish and perfectly clear when dry. But I still freckled whenever I wore it so I had to stop using it. I found another sunscreen finally that does work for me: Elta MD. It’s a physical sunscreen that goes on white at first but finishes clear. And since I started wearing it no more new freckles!

thank you for the thinning vs. strengthening science logic of retin a. Needed to hear that. I will say though, that polish, does build up on furniture. :) That little part poodle Tybee, shows his smarts, playfulness, wants to engage and get some doggie attention, all the time. He is a hoot! LOVE! Momma Dray has his number, and was so cute today doing her thing, explaining this and that, and pointing out little boy's stash of toys, was giving Tybee a near anxiety attack. I would love to see another doodlish dog stop by and see what goes down with Tybee meeting and greeting. I bet the stash of toys would get some tussle. Have a great weekend.

Thank you for talking about Retin-A. I was in a Sephora a few years ago, back before I watched your videos, and one of the sales people tried to sell me like $150 worth of stuff (mostly peels). They tried telling me that Retin-A thins the skin and would damage it long term. Even at the time what they were saying just didn’t feel right. I mentioned to them that Retin-A is prescribed by derms, and they told me that they “worked in a medical office in the past” and knew what they were talking about. I walked out.

PA ++++ means PPD16+,but Japanese regulations are less strict than Chinese, so many Japanese sunscreens can’t meet their labels in the bottles. Shisheido Senka and Kose Suncut pa++++ are both pa+++ according to Chinese re-testing. Several L’Oréal sunscreens maded in China gets pa++++ this year, which are kinda popular

I have rwcently started using Korean and Japanese skin care products with Wonderful results on my over 50, still ouly and acne prone, skin. My skin now is clearer and feels mousturized instead of parched. For this I tank you, since you were among the first to bring this info to UA-cam. And I agree that the K=beauty sunscreens are far superior to those made in the US. Thank you for taking the time to educate us!

Happy Saturday, Dr. Dray! :) I just wanted to quickly say "Thank you!" so much for sharing your knowledge and sweet personality with all of us. I've gained a lot in just the last few months of following you. Not just skin health but also general wellness. But anyway, I wanted to say thanks because I keep feeling my skin lately, because I just can't believe for the first time in my entire life thus far, my skin on my face AND body is SOFT. I never thought my skin could be anything but dry and unpleasant, all because I didn't know lotion needed to be applied to wet skin. LOL My skin is now happy all day long. :) It makes me so happy! haha And of course, I'm better with the sunscreen, all day, every day. :)

Thank you for this video and I really look forward to your next one on Japanese and Korean sunscreens. Coming from the south Mediterranean and having lived some years in the Middle East, no sunscreen is more aesthetically pleasing and protective as many Japanese ones, like you also said. Japan is a very humid country itself, so I guess they've developed the best recipe !!!!!

Tretinoin has done wonders for my hands and neck (I built up use on the neck very slowly). I’ve been using it going on 7 months and I’m starting to see really good results on my face as well. It’s easy for people to see the initial reaction of their skin using tretinoin after only a few months and think it’s damaging their skin. It takes awhile for your skin to adapt but the results are worth it.

A solution for the contacts page in EC- you could carefully cut it out and remove the punched areas- and attach the coil clip connectors to it. And if you wanted to get really fancy- you could cut it out, laminate it with a higher thickness then put the coil connectors on. DIY Dashboard or write out contacts before lamination. :) I have seen people clip each individual coil on a page to transfer and that just seems tedious lol

Tretinoin stimulates angiogenisis (new vessel formation). If you have a propensity to broken capillaries, like myself, you can expect many more using tret. But I don't care, the benefits of tret outshines it all. Going for thermocoagulation soon, the only way to get rid of existing broken capillaries. New ones will most certainly follow though.

I'm excited for the Asian sun screens so far they are my favorites. I'm going to a pool party and decided just to use my copper tone sensitive skin mineral sun screen and while it is smooth it feels so heavy compared to mermaid gel and hado labo. Granted the mineral sun screen gives dependable coverage with long term outdoor events. I also have a sun protective shawl and gloves too.

One of the big misconceptions I hear about retin a, is that it shouldn’t be used under the eyes.
I use it under the eyes, and around near the sides of my eyes, and I have no fine lines around my eyes.
That could be attributed to other factors, but at 32, most people I see my age or even younger, have at least fine lines around the eyes. So I figure it must be working on some level.

    • @edgarscirulis1129

Not scientific but I used to put Retin A on backs of hands. Now I feel cold on tops of hands and wear fingerless gloves most of time during colder months. I assumed it was due to “thinning” of skin caused by Retin A, so I stopped applying it there. Now I guess I must contribute it to aging. (63 yrs). Thanks for your videos.

😂I bought a lot of sunscreens with fragrance and essential oils in them. They also contain a high content of alcohol. I used them for a week and right now my face felt itchy and burning :(
So everyone, listen to Dr. Dray, no fragrance, please 😂.

Looking forward to your favourite Japanese sunscreen video. Which Japanese sunscreen do you prefer in this video? The big bottle looks like a great value product for the amount of product you get. Tybee is so funny and cute and it’s funny how they react to things they see on the tv 📺
Definitely agreed about Japanese sunscreens which are much nicer and easier to reapply in hot and humid conditions 👍🌞🐶

Would you be so kind to do a vlog about mosquito repellent? I get very itchy, burning skin from it, but I get massive welts from bug bites without it, and I live in an area where the little buggers are quite pernicious.

I'm hooked on Japanesee sunscreens. There is just no comparison in terms of formula. I've become a "pusher" among my friends, getting them all hooked on Japanese sunscreens too, that's how I roll. I would love a review of your favorites. I'm so behind on your videos, I need a Dr. Dray binge day.

One Japanese sunscreen I highly recommend is Only Minerals's mineral UV milk. It's a less known brand but once I discovered it, I love it so much. My cheeks tend to get a bit red with many japanese sunscreen because of the alcohol but this mineral one is so good and so light like other ones.

I like Habo Lado's white gel sunscreen for spring/summer/fall, but need something more moisturizing for the winter. I have dry skin due to the climate. Winter is always a disaster between extreme cold and in door heating (you feel like your skin is falling off). I will experiment with Dr Sam's as it has a shea butter base. 😊
