I have an interesting (albeit grueling) Deity campaign ongoing as Yongle. Reached future era nearing turn 400 preventing all other civs from achieving any victory condition, although Sweden is 5 turns away from launching Exoplanet. Just allied with nearby Aztec and funneled them a ton of resources and gold. They just declared war and started building thermo nukes. Vanilla standard map setup with no mods or special game modes. I’m going to try continuing this puppet military state thing and finally achieve a score victory
Believe it or not… I achieved the Score Victory (Standard 500 turns). What an absolute slog! First became leader in all things, then destroyed the two bullies Suleiman (2 turns away from launching Mars Colony) and Ambiorix, splashing nukes in Suleiman’s land halfway across the globe, taking some cities and settling others. Then spent about 110 turns doing espionage against Canada and Sweden pillaging their Spaceports and IZ’s, and controlling World Congress through Carbon Recapture diplo. Had three sessions packing 25K+ diplo and even voted myself to lose points a few times. Launched the exoplanet myself turn 452 just in case… I believe I’m the only Civ player to achieve this. LMK if you know of anyone. I can export my history timeline and/or Hall of Fame screenshot for proof.
1:28 hopefully you bought the tile from Warsaw (2nd ring) and not Kraków (3rd ring). It's 50 or 60 gold cheaper. You may not be use to have cities that close after all Amani+Himiko games but still ;)
the A.I calculates peace deals based on cities damaged ( that still belong to him) , so damage that city with the pikeman, wait a turn, and then peace deal . it's reasoning is '' oh HP of some of my cities was not 100% when the turn started, I might lose them, let's peace it out'' and then you get better deals from that A.I seems to consider these factors for peace deals * total military strength * Highest combat strength of a single unit ( heroes don't seem to count in the A.I calculation) , Brazil there made a pikeman 15:00 , 41 strength , higher than what you have that's why deal got worse * HP% of cities ( especially the capital)
i would have taken palenque to only have to worry about the mayans coming from one side only. btw you got enough cities to take the rest of the heroes for yourself. it would be a good idea to focus into getting the obelisk, commercial huts, and trade routes to get tourism, and take on japan on the next era?. plus you need to get some ally for a while. it would do you good for your cultural condition.
Krakov got a +2 science district i think? you have to remove a stone to place it close to two litle mountains there, that's a bout the best place you got for it.
Poland seems harder to play even thou they seem to have no weakness, i suppose they don't have a pronounced strenght either. very average as a civ i guess?
This whole playthrough reminds me of that quote from Futurama: "The whole world will learn of our peaceful ways by force!" Great video as always.
"We'll win this war with the element of surprise. SURPRISE"
Absolutely brutal strategy.

great hippo puns in this episode - an instant classic!
They were a bit long in tooth maybe but hey
I was hoping for a Khmer Voidsingers game but Poland works fine. Wish Winged Hussars can be upgraded from Heavy Chariots though.
You never know, may still happen!
Hercules the demi-god of Building. basically, a godly contruction worker.
Plus you get the essential "BANG and the district is gone"

These are all really good bits of advice - thank you!

Who needs an ally when you have a culture puppet, am I right?? = )
You created Polish - Lithuanian Commonwealth with Vilnius :)
Oops - don't you hate it when that accidently happens!
@@UrsaRyan I would like to see Lithuania in civ

All round = fantastic. People get too focused on sharp strategy, where you focus on strength. Not having a weakness is amazing
