@@MrVideowill I can see the older (non Euro 6) diesels soon have the VED ratcheted further, alongside the pressure to move to BEV. It ought to be exercised at the pump, to discourage use, rather than on the vehicle, which then makes no further pressure on the driver.
Insurance is £1500 minumum. I work from home some mine is sorn and will remaiin sorn. I rebuilt one on these but the 4.4 TDV8, that is now working like a brand new car. Cost arount £8K to sort
I work for a car dealership, and I purchased a Range Rover this year. It stayed on our premises for about a year and a half with little interest from buyers due to the high maintenance costs, expensive insurance for the large engine, and steep road tax. In the end, I had to lower the price by almost half to finally sell it.
Exactly, Range Rovers, especially the older ones are just not selling. I bought the cheapest 4.4 TDV8 in April 2023. It cost 8K to put right, I now have a car ready for another 150 000 miles. The car is currently SORN because there is not a cats chance in hell I will be paying over £1000 a year in insurance. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! If you look on autotrader there now are nearly 50% more Range Rovers than a year ago because they no longer make sense to purchase.
The vibrations could be down to Gearbox / Torque Converter issues, they call it the cattle grid effect - probably worth getting the transmission serviced. Great looking L322 with the best engine !! Ps be good to see the transmission service video (if you do it) You will be able to tell if it has been done previously as the sump pan will have a a date on it so keep an eye on that when they drop it
My brother had a couple of these 3.6 TDV8 …. both second hand… and he put really big miles on them. The engines were nigh on perfect. Electric gremlins …… different matter entirely. Folk who argue that E.V.s should be more reliable because they have fewer moving parts, might consider that electric gremlins are often much worse than the engine.
my experience with the 2.7 TDV6 and the TDV8 is that the engines were pretty decent, but that the EGRs, DPFs and electronics were much more of a problem
I did 180,000 miles on one of mine. 2 new turbos but apart from that just servicing from a LR specialist. Top tip for any future Range Rover owner, find a good specialist and avoid the main stealers at all cost. Even if your car is brand new. I learnt my lesson when it was about 18 months old.
Nice, funny enough I’ve just bout a 2017 L405 sdv8 autobiography, low mileage 60k and amazing car. I’ve literally blown away by her and still pinching myself. But she is my dream Cara d I openly etmit slight purchases of the hart. don’t get me wrong ilike L322 and have owned a few, from sdv8 and 5l supercharged which was a hoot. But would always recommend the tdv8 and sdv8 due low reving engine and efficient for what they do. I think they get a unfair bad rep probably of owners that didn’t care or had no experience with these sort of 4x4 or expect a Toyota even though I’ve had more issues with Toyotas I’ve owned than all my rangys combined, maybe bad luck. But my view any car can brake and every car needs mantance so it’s all relative. And yes some cars are better or reliable in different ways.
I bought a range rover sport which had a wobble on the steering at around 50mph. I had the wheels rebalanced and the tracking done and it cured it so its well worth checking them 1st it may be the cheaper option in the long run
With a RR of 1.250. - it will happen that you have repair costs of 5k over night. If the Turbos faile you already got that amount of bills. And than next and next. My advice, enjoy it as long as possible without major investment and than simply scrap it. Nothing else makes sense to this (beautiful great) car I am afraid 😊😊
If you add the £1400-£2000 yearly insurance premium on top of that you will understand why my TDV8 is and currently SORN and will remain SORN. A year ago there were around 1800 on autotrader for sale now there are over 3000 a nearly 50% increase. No-one is buying these because of of the astronomical tax and insurance costs. I work from home, no way I am paying £150 a month for a car that is sat on my driveway 70% of the year
Not a great fan of range rovers new or old but understand the appeal. Any car with high tax bracket that is old is going to be cheap these days. Look forward to more content especially around the cost. Your vid’s are getting better you are coming across more engaging
It is a bit same old, same old. RR and 7 series. Been done so often. I do think original ideas are best as you do come across well but for me the content has been done to death now. Good luck with it though 👍
The TDV8 is a great engine. To me the only downside is the £735 road tax. Other than that, hope you enjoy your new work horse.
THat's my caution. I'm expecting punitive future RFL
@kevinlally7653 it's already punitive!

I have heard the the turbo's on these, big job!
@BuySellCarsTV about £6k if I remember correctly and that was approx 2015

loving the colour combination, interior looks mint body tidy too!
I’ve owned one with 300k on the clock. As long as they’ve been maintained they’re fine
@@funnymoneys8328 That’s good to hear!
Id love to make 1 bullet proof not have to worry about turbos

Great video. A lot of the car for the money. Very good condition indeed!
Superb work 😊
Solid fun car. TT for speed. Range for enjoyment

When he said £7 to £800 a year to road tax I spat my coffee out lol !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Be cheaper to uber taxi yourself about for the year lol

This should be interesting. I'd love to buy an older Range Rover
Just had my L322 stolen, so I won’t be getting another one, I was meant to take it for a major service today.
I will miss it 😢
Great video, looking forward to the update.
I need a little runaround for my daughter, so how do I enter the Mini competition?

Appreciate the comment 👍🏻
Well presented, thx
@@Horizon344 Thanks!
Really interesting. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was £4800 last year, looks like it could be decent
Love these had 3 lol 4.4 bmw petrol, 3.0 bmw TD6, 3.6 TDV8 😊
I drove the TD6, but it felt so underpowered. Wouldn't mind having a V8 petrol next!
Ideal for towing and using to pick up more cars from auction
I was thinking this, but with the weight limit and this being a tank already, it’s tricky 😂
Look forward to more content on your l322 looks like you got a bargain but that vibration could be costly hope not for you 👍
Lets see what happens!
Still waiting for a reply....
Did you change the plates on your silver polo???
Nice video and will join you to follow your journey
Please do not treat this car badly, some of us are looking to buy L322s.
Just got one for £500 😅
Post some pics of it please. That’s a real bargain
Bit like yourself thinking. Looking forward to more . Yeah fuel in them. Mpg .
Clickbait!!!! Everyone thinks they can buy one for that price
Nooo ive brought the cheapest range rover sport out there 🤪😜😛
That’s not really high mileage
Oh right another cheapest range rover, been done a 1000 times on other channels!!
Don’t watch then. Just moan instead
You’re just buying the cars that you hope will propel you to more views and subscribers… seen so many UA-camrs doing the same thing. Try branch out 😂

It’s UNTAXED
I will never buy a car knowing that it has towed or has a tow hitch on it.
Range Rovers are made to be able to tow big weights
Do they all come with illegal front window tints?
